Title: trying to get bitcoins for fathers day gift
Post by: lockheedelectra on June 12, 2013, 02:36:45 AM
But I'm completely broke and can't buy any.  The sites that give away bitcoins are such small fractions!  So far I've racked up around 25 cents worth in like 4 days lol.  I need around $50 or so.  Does anyone know of any sites with really high payouts?  I know it's a longshot but I'd love to get my dad a nice gift this year.  ugh! :'(

sorry for the sob story lol I'm just frustrated !

I'm not even concerned about donations at this point (those are nice but i'm not expecting them), i'm more than willing to earn coins myself i just need to find some good sites with high payouts!  so far i've found ZERO.

Write on paper something like HUNGRY, JOBLESS, SHAMELESS,  and you will get some.

Talking about sites, play poker on ltcpoker.eu, they have freerolls every hour, and you can collect some pretty fast.
The best gift you can give to your father is to get a job for yourself.

Just buy.  Sites aren't just giving away amounts of any signifigance

I don't know if this defeats the purpose or not, but I recommend borrowing $50 from your mom and purchasing some coins through bitinstant. :p

Well, I'd love to buy coins or buy a gift but I'm lacking something important...money.

Always next year.  You won't make anywhere near 50.00 in btc from free sites

I have a job, but I'm also a broke college student and my money goes to rent, bills, car payment and school.  Please don't assume just because somebody is broke that they are unemployed.

Edit:  I didn't mean to come off as catty in that post.  Don't take it the wrong way.

The easiest thing is to probably try and earn $50, then you can use that money to exchange for Bitcoins ...

You said you have a job? How about one of those payday loan places?

It's not like someone just gonna hand you 50 bucks worth of bitcoin (I mean bitcoin is money too).

I love how broke people think they can magically get bitcoins for nothing, but they have no such illusions about fiat money, or anything else of value.

If you're going to roll with faucets, use the BTC Faucet timer/rotator (http://coinfaucets.tk) to maximize your earnings. It allows you to easily hit them up as they become available again and has quite a few sites in its rotation!

Try going to sites like Bitvisitor.com. You won't make much but until you find anything major, you can get a small amount of bitcoins into your wallet.

OP, are you willing to give your dad the bitcoins or buy something with them? If you want to buy something with them may we ask you what is that gift?

Hold off until next year and use all your time using the faucets - you'll easily rack up $50 in BTC

By next year BTC will be worth even more, so easily over $50, :p. Use a faucet rotator (http://coinfaucets.tk) to speed it up!

Seriously: Faucets are a funny thing to get started, but the time used up there is better used on sites that have you "work" for bitcoin.

The best I've found so far are tasks4dollars, dollarrewards and coinworker. I prefer tasks4dollars and dollarrewards though as they relate the points gained through work to $ (1 point = $0.01) and payout the according amount in bitcoin. There are quick and easy jobs that pay 3 points per tasks and take a minute or two per task. But those are usually used up quite quick. More complicated tasks (such as writing questions or answers) take considerably more time per task (about 15 to 20 minutes) and only pay 1 point per task, but if you do good they yield nice bonus payment that makes them worth about 50 to 70 points per task.

Anyhow those task sites are at any rate a multitude of times faster at generating bitcoin than the faucets or pay per click/view sites.

Faucets are for those who don't want to stress for bitcoins. Yes it's a very small amount but what? Is it gonna kill you to enter your address and a captcha?

No it doesn't. Hence I still use them. Free BTC is free BTC afterall. Still there are faster ways to get BTCs and that's what I wanted to point out, since everybody in the thread so far just recommended faucets and pay per click/pay per view sites.

Care to elaborate? I'd really like to use a faucet or set of faucets allowing me to make 0.02+ BTC in like 3 hours. So far even using ranlos very nice faucet rotator I can squeeze out only a small fraction of that from the faucets. And don't come argumenting with raw time use. I'm speaking of real time passing by until the amount is earned.

If you have the time, patience and the most important thing - tasks - then yes.

I agree with Chrithu, to a point. Faucets are decent for the raw time used. If you really want to earn, you should do other things for filler. Ex. hit the faucets, then do tasks for 30m, hit faucets again, and rotate.

Faucets are great because they are quick, but they also leave a lot of downtime. Ex. if you knock them out while watching tv, they're good. If you do them while you're reading news, they're good. But if you're wanting to maximize the earnings, definitely do filler stuff. And one site I'd recommend for this is ABitBack (http://www.abitback.com/members/register.php?refid=3338) as you can earn from tasks *while* also earning every 10m while listening to music. This gives essentially three earning venues.
