Title: Old kung fu movies. Post by: Kruniac on June 12, 2013, 06:54:55 AM Watching Descendants of Wing Chun. Before that it was 18 Deadly Weapons of Kung Fu.
Anyone else like those old cheesy kung fu movies? :) Title: Re: Old kung fu movies. Post by: bitbybit2 on June 12, 2013, 07:24:41 AM I wouldn't call it cheesy. Old Kung fu movies started the idea of martial arts being wonderful. MMA reduced martial arts into trash. MMA is cheesy.

But it's still amazing to watch, even after all of this time. Watching Ten Tigers of Kwangtung now. :) Title: Re: Old kung fu movies. Title: Re: Old kung fu movies. Post by: Kruniac on June 13, 2013, 01:54:49 AM Seven Samurai is simply amazing. :)

Post by: Lethn on June 13, 2013, 10:07:58 AM Shogun T.V Mini Series ( Release date: 1980 )
Think of it like Game of Thrones in Japan but with less swearing/sex and more beheadings :D It's not kung fu but it's very good regardless and has some fight scenes in it, now I think about it, it probably needs a different thread but it's a good series nonetheless. And at least in the old VHS days, all movies I found were badly dubbed in English. Title: Re: Old kung fu movies. Post by: Kruniac on June 13, 2013, 01:11:51 PM I wouldn't call it cheesy. I would. I still love the magnificent sound effects. And at least in the old VHS days, all movies I found were badly dubbed in English. Oh god. I thought "mainstream" kung fu movies had bad dubbing. Watch the more "obscure" ones. Or just all of the Shaw brothers films. Typically, any time the characters are dubbed with English accents, it's going to be horrible. But that's what makes it awesome, among other things. :) Title: Re: Old kung fu movies. Post by: veteranBtc on June 13, 2013, 01:32:54 PM we all love action movies ;D
