Title: Re: Huge Spike in Bitcoin Mining in Europe Post by: bitcoinchecker on June 12, 2013, 12:45:00 PM Could the spike be related to this ... http://www.germanenergyblog.de/?p=13196
People turning to mining and using solar powered rigs and getting paid for generating electricity and Bitcoin. Title: Re: Huge Spike in Bitcoin Mining in Europe Post by: Ente on June 12, 2013, 12:57:10 PM Berlin, eh?
Now that's someting I find interesting.. Ente Title: Re: Huge Spike in Bitcoin Mining in Europe Post by: oakpacific on June 12, 2013, 01:28:06 PM It's Hitler's new miner in his bunker.

Title: Re: Huge Spike in Bitcoin Mining in Europe Post by: BTCLuke on June 12, 2013, 05:44:02 PM i prefer using this site with actual colors http://bitcoinglobe.com/ Very nice... Is that Hashing power?Wish they'd give some kind of explanation... At first glance ppl might think that's size of transactions being represented. BTW: Germany's stack was much smaller on this one. Title: Re: Huge Spike in Bitcoin Mining in Europe Post by: Etunem on June 12, 2013, 08:19:41 PM This has nothing to do with the hashing power.
As depicted it shows the most stable nodes. This has been discussed many times before. I think it represents the number of connections. However, you won't find a mining farm in the Bunker :o Title: Re: Huge Spike in Bitcoin Mining in Europe Post by: solex on June 12, 2013, 09:55:41 PM Berlin, eh? Now that's someting I find interesting.. Ente I believe the "supernode" in Germany on the OP's screenshot is nogleg https://blockchain.info/hub-nodes The globe is showing relaying nodes, not specifically miners. Title: Re: Huge Spike in Bitcoin Mining in Europe Post by: ecliptic on June 13, 2013, 12:51:42 AM Terahashs anonymously solomining their own full blocks mining via a Tor exit node in Germany, a shit ton of the exit nodes are there
(Solo block bitcoins on its own unique unused wallet are worth more than non-solo block coins because they are much easier to make anonymous and hide. Tor + solo mined block is theoretically untraceable to anyone) You'd have to be an idiot to associate significant hashing power with any IP that can be tracked to you without a massive amount of work, for many reasons. |
