But I can't emphasize this enough, BE VERY CAREFUL AND VERY PARANOID. If you don't do the research, and just rush in blindly thinking that it's cool to invest in Bitcoin at this time, take the money and go to a casino instead. You'll have way more fun losing it without intending to that way.
I started posting on here thinking my little bit of experience as the "family tech" meant I could figure this stuff out and safely invest in BTC. My first post on here led to an interesting experience with a Hero member that made it very clear to me that just talking about investing in Bitcoin can draw unwanted attention. Then I started reading the posts and threads of some of the more experienced people on here and man...some of the stories these people shrug off or endure and keep on going humbled me more than I can say. I'll keep reading and learning because it IS fascinating, but I wouldn't want to be in their shoes. even if I could afford their shoes! (grin) I've come to the conclusion that the best way for me to invest in Bitcoin, if I choose to do so, is to have a friend I've known for years that buys BTC whenever he has spare cash, is to give him MY spare cash and ask humbly him to do the same for me. One of the biggest shocks I got with Bitcoin was realising how much cotton wool had been wrapped around online financial dealing. Just use the same kind of common sense and judgement as you would when dealing in cash, getting someone you know to do your exchanges for you until you get comfortable is definitely a good move.
