Title: Zcash - Nvidia 1080 TI
Post by: Platonicus on October 28, 2017, 06:27:34 PM
Hello,

I am a noob in mining, but still got my rig. Currently mining in flypool, using ebwf miner;     Each gpu overlocked (didn`t press to max) from 662 to 675 Sols/s;
Currently mining of amount of only 4+ Z / monthly, which I think is pretty bad IF to count ROI and prices of Nvidia 1080 Ti...

May be I don`t understand something about mining (as it is surely), but what should I do to increase the amount of Zcash mined monthly? May be someone advice to mine some other alts with my current Rig? At the monet difficulty is pretty big in Flypool  for Zcash at least...

Also should I sell my Z / trade to btc or keep and wait price to go up, what tactics mainly you guys use?

Thanks for advices, all apprechiated   ::)

The days of 2-3 month ROI are gone - that was a very short term abberation when coin prices jumped a TON but it took total hashrate a while to catch up.

If you are looking at less than a year to achieve 100% ROI, you're doing pretty good right now (perhaps 8-10 months if you have VERY cheap electric and can afford to push your cards a bit more).

With that said, your hashrate seems low if you're running your 1080 ti cards at 100% TDP or close - but you get better efficiency if you turn the TDP limit down.

For now, zcash have low price, and can do x1.5 or more. Nice option to mine&hold.

i would switch to zec forks since they have lower price and higher chance for x2-5 price pump like zen zclassic and diff isnt so big on them now

mine and hold. Zcash will jump to atleast $400 again, just the matter of time.

man, your hashrate is very low
try to use zm mainer, I got like 750-770sol/s with that miner
here is the link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2021765.0

I have palit 1080ti gamerock, my setting is 90% of power limit, +35 core and +535 memory - it works about 1930-1950 mhz core and pushes solid 750-760sols
so compare to your hasrate it should give you a 12.6% improvement,  so instead of 4 coins per month, you'll get 4.5..
or it basically will be the same as you add 2 more 1080ti for free.. worth to try

That is a lot of 1080 TIs! You could try mining other equihash coins since you're using NVidia - this could include zclassic, zencash, zcoin or even some bitcoin fork like bitcoin gold.

For example, if you mined zencash a few weeks back when it was only 7 usd with lower difficulty, you'd be feeling pretty great since it jumped to over 20 usd (but now is more difficult to mine).

With OC and power setting, many people make 720+ sol/s with 1080ti.
For more outcome, they try optimizing OC setting, trading and algo-profit switching.
Try these things, good luck.
