Policies have little effect on bitcoin. So they all, without exception, against cryptocurrency. Just one fight from outright bans while others are trying to legalize the use of bitcoin and then destroy it from the inside. Bitcoin the currency is too multi-ethnic to political developments in several countries could greatly affect the price. There may be small dips, or rises but then again stabiliziruemost.

Depends on the political event.

If they are related to crypto-currency, such as shutting down exchanges (eg. China), changing BTC related regulations (eg. Japan) or even just prospects of changing BTC related regulations (eg. USA and the BTC ETF) then yes, those affect the Bitcoin price to some extend, although not always in the way one may expect. Arguably monetary policies have influenced the Bitcoin price before (eg. Cyprus in 2013) but that's highly debatable.

Political events that are unrelated to crypto haven't shown any meaningful effect on Bitcoin so far.

Yes, but not in the way some would think.

The reality of 'Cyprus and Greece are adopting Bitcoin' was probably 5-10 more real people giving it a go. Everyone else wanted cash Euros. All the rest of the pump was the usual people sitting on exchanges using it as an excuse to fleece more people.

Future political earthquakes will be similar. No new people will be coming in and it certainly won't be in response to what's happening to them. It's pump fodder.

Bitcoin prices only suffers if there are political event such as banning of use of btc, mining and ico. But the market easily negates any strong arm tactics to control btc's price.

I believe that political aspects will become to manifest in about BTC, when there will start to have a legislation where they tax for each BTC earned, when they start regulating all the BTC transactions, or when they decide to ban BTC( Hope this does not happen in the future). Of course in this case, politicians will be taking the side of the bank corporators that regulate national finances, and if they said BTC is not that good, they will show that message to their population!

There were posts around here that have speculated on Brexit, the Catalan split and I am sure there were other political events that stated that "x or y is happening therefore Bitcoin will go to z". but look at the chart, nothing is happening to it except climbing to new highs. Bitcoin simply does not listen.

Bitcoin's price = Status and Environment of Trading. Trading Decisions = Emotion of People. Emotion of People = Environment and Status of his own country or city. Therefore Yes, Political Events could affect the price of Bitcoin, not just by events but also by circulating rumors and articles that bashing Bitcoin which also creates FUD. As of now i do not know what political event create a large impact on Bitcoin's price.

I will said to some extent yes, when there was a general election last time in USA and Donald Trump win the election the bitcoin price jumped up because he is in favor of bitcoin development. However outside this election, I have not have any noticeable political event that affect bitcoin price. I think what affect bitcoin the most is its own fundamentals issues and bitcoin related comments from politicians, elites and bitcoin enthusiasts.

I think one political event that I can think of is changing of the guards, i.e. a new President was elected by a nation and this new leader is either anti or pro bitcoin, then definitely policies will change as well. Imagine a country that has enjoying the full support of the government for 4-6 years then suddenly a new leader was elected which suddenly went the ban hammer on cryptocurrency, then it will have a serious effect to the price and the bitcoin community for that particular country.

Politics in bitcoin is the one that affects most the price of bitcoin. But if about political events in the parliament party or congress I don't think it will affect the price if their topic or debate is about their national problem. And if that is about banning of ICOs, mining, trading, usage and banning bitcoin itself for sure that will be a big slash for the price of bitcoin. I remember when Trump won, the price did pumped but I don't if that's something that did helped to push the price to the top.

Yes, political events can affect Bitcoin price. A country that experiencing financial crash and economic instability makes people and businesses look for alternative way to store their money or wealth and that is Bitcoin, of course if this happens the demand will rise which will cause a pump in value of Bitcoin. Another political event that can affect Bitcoin value is government banning cryptocurrencies exchanges like what China did, what happened is investors from china did sell their Bitcoins because of fear of losing it and Bitcoin price falls. Altcoins can also be affected by these politcal events.

I disagree with you. If China really banned bitcoin it will not affect the price of bitcoin on the number of bitcoins in Chinese. They will keep and cash out their bitcoins in other ways. This will lead to additional costs for Chinese users but not stop them. Accordingly, the price of bitcoin will not drop.

the only political events that would affect bitcoin in a positive way is if there is financial instability in a country, and people would want to protect their hard earned money by investing it in something more stable such as bitcoin. And if the political environment remains calm and conducive bitcoin will depend on supply and demand.

FUD; when political agents misdirect the ideology on which the blockchain platform was established, of which Bitcoin is a primer. This has impact on investors, which further drives the price of BTC down because of influx in the market.
