ICOs are pretty much like crowdfunding; they give you a certain amount of tokens in exchange for your offering. How to know if an ICOs is actually good or legit? Read their whitepaper. Do your research on that certain ICO. Don't expect people to spoonfeed you, telling you if this certain token or ICO is good or not. Remember, we are talking about investing money here. Do as much research as you can.

I rather you to look at the tokens whose rank on Coinmarketcap is on the top because that means that it had collected enough funds in the ICO stage and/or the price rose up a lot. Also, make a deep research like on Coindesk who delivers ICO news of any ICO token and on Icostats.com you can find all token with their statistic.

The only Bitcoin project is bitcoin. There are no Bitcoin projects based on an ICO.Get your fundamentals right bfore going any further.

As a newbie, spend some time reading about cryptos in general.Take time to understand how trading works in cryptos and the entire ICO culture.Without knowing swimming jumping into the sea will only drown you.

No one can guide you on the right direction since we are all just the same as investors on where we do seek out on the most potential projects in the market as of now. $3000 investment isn't bad. ICO can possibly give good potential returns if you did hit up the right one but the risk on losing money is always there specially if we did choose the wrong one. This is why as an investor we should really be keen on selecting and making the research about it.

If you are planning to invest in ICOs then I would suggest you to go through the ICOs like universa, hydrominer and milkcoin. If you want just go through the ANN thread of these ICOs. Milkcoin ICO hasn't started yet. The other two ICOs are already running now and its a hugh success. Anyways before investing in ICOs you have to do some research about it from your side .

You can invest into Bazista just simply click my signature but I bet it that others will advertise the same thing through their signatures. What's your main goal for investing that $3,000? Short term or long term goal, if you want to have a long term goal you can divide that $3,000 into two types of investment. The other half with ICOs and the other half in bitcoin, you just have to buy and hold it for a long time and you can have your time to do some other things.

Also think about the country the ICO is coming out of, since regulation is a hot topic right now. China banned ICOs and all crypto trading which can have a big impact on the trading value of a coin. Many other countries are starting to come out with regulation and no one knows what direction things will go.

This is a DIY project as an investor. The best I can suggest to you for engaging in ICOs and finding genuine and profitable ones is for you to THOROUGHLY look at the white paper and then Google whoever is on the devs team to ascertain if what achievements claimed by board members are true. Also, make this forum your place of leisure and read up stuffs on investments.

By the way, DIY...Do It Yourself.

First do your own research and try to learn everything :)
Put 70 % in btc and ethereum and with the rest buy some omg, req, ark, neo, ubiq
Never believe a stranger on the internet :)

Cheers

That's a very hard question, my friend. The right project will be very different for everyone, depends for what time are you looking to invest, medium or long-term.
If you are a newbie in crypto, invest that money in learning about crypto and come back afterwards. Otherwise, you will just lose your funds.

What about universa, that aim to provide the better tech than the bitcoin or even ethereum you can try to visit the site and see it or if you are interested you can try to put some of your amount in there.

CMC lists some sketchy coins as well though. And even those that are plausible will probably die 90% of the time.

Definitely second you on the recommendation for very thorough research though. You can't be careful enough with altcoins and shouldn't trust people on this forum. Don't buy anything you don't understand. Research markets and potentials yourself and do the basic Math required to check potential future values.

Hi, you can try to invest in the spectre, you should visit the main thread and try to do your own research about the spectre project. It seems to be a decent plat for you because as you can see a lot of the exchange site based project is a really interesting thing. A lot of them have very good performance compared with another ico at the end of the result after the token already listed on the exchange site.
This time the ico already collected more than 16k ethereum at the pre-sale.

Like the one before me recommended, I recommend spectre.ai ICO to you, it is a good token presale that will surely give you profit in the future, as it is one of the most promising ICO's in this season IMO. It will be the world's first broker less trading platform. For more information about this, just click links on my signature, there is a link for whitepaper there and Facebook in case you want to browse more about it.

It is one of the most valueable post for your so far for you. I also agree, I don't know if 3000 is much money for you, but it is enough to make a very interesting wallet with some currencies. If you really need to have a practice then maybe you should consider part of thet amount? Now you should be focused on gaining knowledge and basics related to crypto.Know it in general. There is a lot of SCAM ICOs, which can be very dangerous for newcomer. So better learn how to make research and pick the most profitable one.

Throw some into eth and then take the rest and put it in cybermiles. Great platform, idea, definitely has the market fit, and solid team.

I suggest reading the whitepaper to get the whole idea. Their partnership with the 5miles app to integrate their blockchain will be huge for them. 12 million users already makes their blockchain top ethereum and bitcoin in terms of users.

None.

These days, I think of ICO's and token funding projects as practically gambling. You're tossing your money at something with LITTLE TO NO chance of ever making your money back, unless your part of the dev team or someone who is a friend of the dev team and is bound to make money with them. All of the projects that are ICO's now are a ton of shitcoins which are going to amount to nothing but money for the devs.

Invest in something IRL, be in in stocks (Vanguard Index Fund) or even just buy Bitcoin if you really want to be risky with this money. There's so much more you can do then piss your money away on penny stocks (ICO's)

All tokens are legitimate for investment, but which of them have a good prospect for growth, you need to understand it, and the advice of others in this matter will be rather subjective. Here you need to know for what purposes the project was created and tokens were released, to analyze their growth dynamics and much more. In general, good knowledge is needed and new people here probably can not figure it out.

If you have to ask this question, and your question is littered with clear misunderstandings of what crypto is about and how the market works, it is honestly better that you don't invest anything right now.

If you jump into it not knowing what you are doing than you will learn the very hard way.

After that you will either adapt and push on or just give up on it entirely.

Welcome to the investors community. This is all time favourite question asked by many noobs when they hit the idea of trading/investing. Now finding an ICO is like finding a drop of water into ocean! Its hard! Its hard to find a legit ICO these days but you can however invest into top 10 alt coins from the coinmarketcap and depending not the trading volume also.

Always look for the buzz reading an newly launched ICO in the announcement section and try to get engaged in the discussion to know more about an ICO. Before investing you must know the team behind the project and their roadmap. Must know whether they are working as per their roadmap or not and then invest as early investor to grab he profits.

Do i need to have a startup for that ? Or will you just cut to the chase and fork it over now ?

Difficult to decide. Crypto is risky but can offer HUGE returns.

First step is to convert your dollars to Ethereum if you wish to invest in an ICO. Have you completed this so far?

Hi. I advise you to do your own search before investing a big amount. Read about your target ico and try to make your own opinion.
You can also use http://www.icorating.com and similar websites (carefully) to compare your opinion with other opinions.

Best thing to do is read about Cryptos and understand how Trading works, study ICO's and their whitepapers, see for yourself which one has the most potential.
About tokens you must check who's ranked where on the CoinMarket Cap.
It's also important to join the community and understand everything before making any decisions. Do plenty of research before you act.

Well, i don't think its good to invest al in the same ( as a beginner ) or you have to be very sure.

I think https://blunner.com/ is a ICO to look into, but thats a project of my own ;-)

Please read:

We want to buy back Blunners with a percentage of our profit. The buyback price will be 50 cents, sell price 20 cents each.

Please take a look at it.

Before investing in ICO it is necessary to do some research about their project of which is legit and worth it. Icorating is a plus somehow this could also help and will give you and idea on what ico's to choose. Because scam ico are everywhere.
