What can make a token in MEW disappear?
lately i heard from some friends that he lost the token at MEW, he said that he had entered on the right site ie https://www.myetherwallet.com/

which is happening is exposed to phishing, is there any other cause besides phishing?

If his etherwallet has been compromised, the token could have been transferred or sold. But he can still see it in his transactions. There is no other way a token can be moved out of your wallet. He should check if there are transactions made. If there are transactions that he did not do, then he should discard the wallet and create a new one.

It is not that tokens are being stolen everytime. Due to excessive load on MEW server, they added a restriction. To view all balance, you need to click "Load All Tokens". In meantime, it's best to view your wallet on etherscan.io or Ethplorer. If you still don't see tokens on your address on either of these, is simply mean your wallet is compromised. No fault of MEW.

Check whether it has been hacked your tokens from your ethereum wallet. If you still find that you do have an any issues in the transaction from your wallet and missed your coins and tokens.
You need to check the wallet support to know what is the issue.

You can check your transaction history in mylllllllllet if you have logged in to its correct address if a transaction has forwarded your token number indicating who your account is. go in and out, not myetherwallet rogue, and if you do not have any transactions please send support to myeth we should calm down to solve everything you should not say that myeth is trick Islands will affect their prestige

Is the token really being transferred to another ETH address? You can check ETH explorer to see whether there is any transfer history.

If the token is still in your friend ETH wallet address, he just has to load token to see the token.

hope he didn't log in with phishing link,
so the private key is recorded by that link,,

You guys should keep your keys secured especially myetherwallet digital file. I Never experience such cases but I do keep them safe and by installing good anti virus plus firewall.

The only way to lose your tokens is when your private key is compromised. Be careful when signing in for airdrops or any forms that would ask for sensitive information like your private key and password. Like what everyone said here, check your transaction history is etherscan.io or ethexplorer.io. There you can see if your tokens has been sent out to an address you don't know.

What kind of wallet verification you're using to access your myetherwallet account? Someone's gotta accessed your device. You can check the transactions in etherscan.io so you may know how they managed to transfer and to what account.
Or you maybe don't know what to do with your tokens.

There are so many scam and hack out there right now stealing private keys it is impossible to say what happened to the tokens.  Everyday I see people falling for fake airdrop sites that ask for private keys, fake "my ether wallet" links, downloading fake wallet Trojans, heck, people are even posting their private keys in airdrop submission Google docs for all to see ...

The only way to figure it out is for your friend to retrace everything he did, all the sites he provided info to, everything he downloaded ...

yes i have seen my friend's token, his token has moved to another address on he has not done anything yet.

This guy did over 750 transaction in last 6 days. Probably everything stolen. Can somebody stop him???

Token can not missing if your wallet is not hacked. You need to add token before it visible.

Just a purse does not now show all the tokens.
They need to be downloaded and added again.
Nobody steals them, enough to panic!

And almost all tokens cost pennies, who do they need ??

The token may disappear if you use phishing scams or if you gave someone your secret key, do not do this in any case!

I have already experienced losing token in etherwallet. I was shocked when I check my wallet, I've lost my sgg coins. I don't know who's stranger it is. I decided to change my address and create new wallet. Maybe I was being careless when I was importing my addresses and private key. And now I was very careful to my account.
In order to avoid hacking of your account, you should double check when you are going to import your account.

There are question mark to this your unfortunate incidence, when you check etherscan did you see if it was successfully sent out of your wallet or your coin just disappeared without any traces at all. If there was a tx id then your private key was hacked not that your coin was missing.

First of all, search for the ether address on a public blockchain.
Can you see the tokens?

I assume that we are talking about erc20 tokens, so if you can see it on the blockchain lets proceed.

You can export the private key from MyEtherWallet and import it on a different wallet who supports ERC20 ( It's very important that the wallet will support that, if it doesn't, you won't see the tokens even though you imported the private key).

After importing the private key you will be able to actually transfer it from the different wallet.
I would suggest you to set up a new address and transfer all the tokens to that address, so the tokens would be safer.

Maybe they used myetherdelta when it was hacked 2weeks ago,thats why their tokens disappeared,my tokens are still intact.

Yep, definitely a fishing attack so he exposes his private key lost the token.

all control over myetherwallet account is in the private key holder. if you log into the correct site, I think your token will not be lost.

there are several reasons that can make the token in myetherwallet missing.
1. your private key or backup file stolen by someone else.
2. get into a phishing site, whether it's myetherwallet or etherdelta.

which I know phishing is the only thing that really threatens the balance of MyEtherwallet.
because Myetherwallet is not equipped with 2FA security.  :D

The most important condition when using the MEW wallet is not to show your private key anywhere. It is with the help of phishing that people lose this key and then lose all their tokens that were on this purse. Always carefully check those sites where you enter your private key.

I have a friend. She is too industrious in finding airdrops and of course she fill up into it. In airdrop mew address is being asked. She now have a many different tokens on her wallet. One day she opened her wallet and notice her eth together with her token are all gone. She looked on the transactions made then she notice it is all out but she didn't make it. We wonder if she gave her private key instead of her address. You, do you fill up in airdrops too? Don't you think you made the same mistake ?

If you already created a new wallet, to avoid phishing site save the mew link to your bookmark. If you will just check your token, instead of opening your account just go to
etherscan.io/address/(mew address)
There you can check your token and the transactions without logging in your account.

Same Problem with me month ago. But MyEtherWallet can't delete token it maybe missed but it will back like my token. Find Token Transfer and click View all it helps me a lot of checking my token and later on while i refresh my gone token back.

Check your transactions! In my opinion, if a wallet were broken, then all the crypto coins would be stolen.

So bad. After my cousin lost her token in her wallet too, I am now afraid to open my mew because I think I may click or go to phishing site.
My cousin's first mew account is hacked by anonymous person. We are sure that it is hacked because the funny thing is that when a new token is transferred in the wallet, the hacker also transferred some eth to be able to use as a fee because he/she will transfer the new token. But before that happened, he already got the CTX, NIO, and any other coin plus the ETH in my cousins wallet.
We wonder how does the hacker got the private key. Phishing site , hacked or wrong input of private key in airdrops?? Whatever it is we all need to be very careful now.

I think you didn't add their custom code in the MEW. If you don't find better check in etherscan.io. If you find the token there then you need add their contract address inorder to visible your total amount of the coins.

Other than phishing then it would be possibly to have an infected computer which hacker can able to monitor or have a keylogger insider which they can able to steal passwords or any keys which been used to access on of your wallets. This is the most common possible way if you do lose up coins suddenly if you haven't victimized by phishing this is why we should really be careful on downloading things online. Having an good antivirus would somehow help but not reliable most of the time.

if so means true what friends feel my token is lost because someone took it without your knowledge.
which is my question from where that person can enter our wallet

there are many cases of phishing account using fake mew address .. now we have to be more careful in entering the private key ..
I recommend using metamask

there have been many things like this, and most of all, the mistake they make is, they are logged on the phishing site. well, there are so many phishing sites out there, even more so for MEW. I just suggest to be meticulous in entering the site.

Maybe you Send your Private key accidentally .
too risky to store your Private key on Internet.
store it properly .
Bookmark it and
dont forget to hide the QR code  that is your private key too

Better check his transaction history and from their you can easily determine if someone got transferred your token to other unknown wallet. If you these happens then it means that you've been hacked by some pishing site. There are lots of pishing site they are really are a look a like of MEW so better bookmark the right and safe one.

I don't think that there is known any other couse than phishing! My friend  have experienced this same thing yesterday, he checked his balance yesterday and the coins was there only to check today and he could not find the coins in his wallet. I think loses one coin without actually know what happened to it ,means there system is not save and the teams need to work hard to saveguard the system.

The phising site really looks exactly the same as the original one that your friend aren't aware that it is really not. There are very simple signs and the obvious one is the  green secure lock which is only present on legit sites.

Don't ever believe with those hackers when they are asking you to put your private keys to any spreadsheet.

There is also another way for these hackers / scammers to scare people, they tell you that they know you and they hijack your info so they are requiring you to send some amount to their btc/eth addresses. Don't get fooled by these scammers and hackers.

Most of the time the reason was phishing site mate, Because I've been using MEW for a years but I never get into a situation that I click some phishing site every time I open my wallet on mew. Then, once you become a victim by it, there is no chance for you to recover all of your coins because surely all of it will be disappear to your wallet.

I heard that there is a virus that does not harm your computer, but changes the address of the wallet when copying to the clipboard. Has anyone encountered this?

Yes there are more viruses, the best choice now is a hardware wallet and also always check address where you send to be safe. If PC is viruses better reinstall windows and delete all data before reinstall after doing backup.
If token is not on MEW check if load tokens is activated, and if still not appears you can add mannually token, and if still not appear check ETH address on etherscan to see if token is still there.

First, add a token in the wallet interface, using the contract address and coin tikit, if you don’t succeed, this coin is not an etirium token and there is a separate wallet for it.

Sometimes myetherwallet has a glitch and delay in showing tokens , I suggest you use etherscan website to see your balance , MEW does not store your private key so if you have been hacked it means your PK has leaked , but if you can see some of your tokens means you haven't been hacked coz hackers usually take out everything and don't leave you anything in it.

Yes that's the copy paste malware and it has been reported to copy and paste different bitcoin address.

It is possible for bitcoin so its also possible for ETH and other altcoins.

There's also another malware that seemingly gives the hacker a permission to enter your desktop through remote access. I'm not sure with this though but I think it happens and they are digging up your folders so be careful with what you are downloading on torrent sites.

I've heard of this case, it's important to note that this attack can occur if your computer doesn't use anti-virus.
I recommend using Windows 10 I think it's safer than dangerous malware.

First, you must check your transactions history if your tokens are already moved, so your wallet has been hacked if not, you can use https://deltabalances.github.io .
Last year same problem with me, but i added my adress in https://etherdelta.com/ and i found my tokens by using the contract address.

right, I have experienced the same thing, I was stuck in phishing so many of my tokens were stolen a lot,
I am disappointed that there is no recovery or change the security of myetherwallet account.
the solution is we have to create a new myetherwallet account.

I don't think is possible that a token in MEW just disapper, I never heard about it and I am using the MEW since very long time. Sometimes the Ethereim Explorers show not correct information, maybe it's the the reason that you don't see this token?

Perhaps you would not believe it, but the tokens were stolen from me, but the other tokens were not touched, 100 USD in the Ether too untouched. I still can not understand how this happened.

If Tokens are missing on your MEW then these are the only possible reasons.

-Phishing links or sites
-Infected computer with malware or virus/keyloggers
- Stolen storage of your keys or compromised.

Once private keys is compromised then expect for loss of assets or tokens.

Have you ever entered a very foreign exchange. if I think your wallet was hacked by an irresponsible party, I was hacked because I entered a phishing website, now I have to be careful because there are many sites that are the same as the original.
