Title: Unconfirmed Parent transaction
Post by: MoonIsBlue on October 30, 2017, 08:35:49 PM
Hello, I got an unconfirmed parent transaction from a payment for work I did in exchange for BTC. I do this on a regular basis and never had any trouble but apparantly the fee is to low and it doesn't confirm, some specs:

Fee / KB    0.00051921 BTC
Size    963 bytes

Fee seems reasonable right? I tried the child pays for parent option (which made me laugh a bit) but still nothing changed... anyone that can help a hodler out?

What you need to do is use transaction accelerator and that will be ViaBTC's accelerator since your transaction fee is higher than
10 say/byte. Go on https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator and if you can't do it you can provide your tx ID.

What do you mean by max fee? There is no maximum fee other than 21 million Bitcoins, so the "max fee" that you chose may have not been enough.
The transaction has a fee of 51 satoshis/byte, which bitcoinfees.earn.com (https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/) estimates that it is enough now. However, when there are many many transactions in the mempool, sometimes a fee of over 200 satoshis/byte is needed for a fast confirmation and it may have been sent at that time.

Transaction should be confirmed now, but if it isn't let me know and I can get a miner to include it in a block for you.

Is there any unconfirmed transaction of the sender addresses? If so, they need to be confirmed firstly then your transaction is as first in the queue. It can be that there are unconfirmed transaction of the sender's address in a row which takes it longer.
