Title: Which coins have a decreasing circulating amount over time?
Post by: Iamlegit4sure on October 31, 2017, 12:04:07 AM
I know that Ripples get destroyed after each transaction (a very tiny amount), and another one will be Hacken (20 million coins at start, and some of them wil lget destroyed overtime as well).

I wonder how many coins are there with this system implemented? I think they are a good investment vs coins that increase their circulating coins volume over time.

Iconomi (ICN) is one. They use company profits to buy-back and burn ICN tokens.

It's actually pretty interesting to look at the burn contract--not just for all the ICN already removed from the market, but also for all the other random crap that has been stuffed inside it.  https://etherscan.io/address/0x0006157838d5a6b33ab66588a6a693a57c869999#tokentxns (https://etherscan.io/address/0x0006157838d5a6b33ab66588a6a693a57c869999#tokentxns)

Wow, I have been following the Datum launch and never even realized this. That is pretty good news for a variety of reasons. Where did you find that information? Thanks!

Bitcoin and all other similar coins (VTC, LTC for example) have a decreasing circulating supply. Not because the coins are being burnt, but as a consequence to people losing access to their wallets (losing private keys, hardware wallets, etc)... In theory those coins are still in circulation but in reality, they're gone forever.
