It's an ERC20 token so its minted and distributed- ERC20s are usually distributed through an ICO or token sale. This one instead is only distributed through the airdrop, mining in the browser and then staking (if you have 700 coins you'll receive more every quarter, starting Jan 1) which means anyone can get the coins for free. We want to see how far the coin can spread without charging for it, there will never be an ICO.


On Jan 1 anyone who has 700 coins will be receivers of more coins (the blockchain lists which wallets have the most coins) and that (along with the mining) will be how the coins are distributed. If no one or not many people have 700, it will be the top x amount of wallets that hold HWL.

hi dev. interesting project but doesnt support mobile up to now

@EddieNigma few things:

1. can't paste address
2. address disappears when you actually press withdraw instead of staying there
3. no indication whether withdraw worked (doesn't seem so - no tx on wallet and wallet still has 0)

It says that top holder of the coin will get a payment every quarter but top what top10, top50, etc? Will that payment come out of the pre-mined coins?

The miner was just updated to fix some of the things that you guys noticed!

 - The miner runs in the background on all browsers, even if the window is unfocused
 - There is notification of withdrawal attempts going through (The coins will arrive in your wallet afterwards)
- If anyone thinks their withdrawal request didn't go through, and doesn't appear in their wallet over the next 2 days, let me know your ETH address so I can send the coins to you

Yes, it's an ERC20 coin so it's minted and the mining and payouts come from that. It will be a top amount of wallet holders, like the top 250 holders (The blockchain has a list of which wallets hold the most coins).

It's great that you are not doing any ICO and providing these coins via airdrops, mining and bounties. I tried to join the airdrop via google form, but when  I enter my eth address, it says enter a number greater than 0. Any solution to this?

Hey, try again now. It seemed somehow the form was being spammed (No email appearing) so I changed the settings for a second. It's back now so the "Enter more than 0" error from Google should be over.

Hey, the site definitely does not mine anything in the background. You can can look at the page's source code to see that there is no CoinHive tag. Another way to know if a site is mining in the background is to watch your processor and see if it start ramping up when you use when you enter a certain site.

Note:  Thank you for all the support, I think the wave of traffic from the launch may have taken the site down temporarily.

The airdrop is being delivered, it is just happening over time. There are quite a few to deliver, it will be done in waves each day. All the first bounties were already delivered and they are prioritized.

We are aware of the copy and paste issue for the miner, there is a work around, just implementing it but it will take a bit longer. The speed will be increased as well for the miner.

The miner is under maintenance so the copy and past issue can be fixed. Also the coin dispensation rate will be increased.

Once these are fixed the previous withdrawals will go out. Withdrawals usually take up to or around 24 hours to appear so don't worry if you don't see it right away.

 Some improvements: Faster mining, withdrawals have been confirmed to be working (wait up 24 hr after withdrawal for coins to appear) and there is now a withdraw limit of 0.0001 HWL

 The copy and paste issue is still there, it's a browser issue but a solution is being worked on.

 If you used the miner before and the withdrawal didn't go through (The site went down yesterday when we launched and caused some problems) just PM me your ETH wallet address and I will send some coins your way.

The platform itself doesn't have any income, instead the way the coin is distributed is through the miner and through being sent to the top holders of the coin. Anyone with over 700 HWL on Jan 1, 2018 will receive more HowlCoins.

There is no token sale, ICO or income from the coin so it's a level way for people to obtain coins. The goal is to see how far and wide the coin can spread over time and reward those who get the coins and hold.


That's correct, now however mining deliveries are unlikely to take more than 24 hours. Airdrops is unknown- it's taking some time but more are being sent out day by day. Bounties should never take longer than 24 hours to complete. Anyone can complete a bounty (Check in the first post). It's as easy as making a tweet, or some other stuff if you want to earn more coin. Then you just go to HowlCoin.com and in the footer of the site there is a link to leave a message saying you completed the bounty, and leave your Ethereum wallet address so we can send the coins to you.


Unfortunately at the moment yes, the miner is WebGL and most browsers do not allow pasting into the box, but we are looking for the fix at the moment. If you have an ENS name this would be much easier to type out


Yes, essentially you do not need processor use to mine tokens. It just depends how long you keep the miner open. This means virtually anyone can mine. The app which allows mining will be released shortly as well.


There won't be any ICO, the only way to get coins is through the air drop, mining, staking (Payouts of more coins happen every quarter, the first is on January first to any wallet with over 700 HWL or the top % of wallets.

 The only way to buy coins will be if someone lists them on an exchange or just sells them to you privately.

It's definitely unusual! The goal is to allow virtually anyone with an internet connection to mine, rather than only people with some GTX 1080's.

In 17 hours I mined

Which means in 24 hours I will mine 0.000058500.

There are 59 days between today and January 1st.

0.000058500 * 59 = 0.0034515

It's actually impossible to mine anywhere close to even a 1.

Am I missing something?

Hey, the mining speed is adjusting upwards, already was sped up 2 days ago and will be much faster soon, so perhaps continue at a later date.

Regarding the 700, that was only the guaranteed amount, a comment on this earlier in the thread asked something similar, and that answer is that due to the fact that it's unlikely many will have that amount, it will be the opt x% of wallets, so the top few hundred wallets. Because the overwhelming majority of wallets will carry the airdrop, even having 1.1 coins will likely be enough for the first payout on Jan 1.


That's correct, it is working for some users but some browsers do not allow this feature for security reasons, but there is a different implementation that allows it, so we are working on that at the moment.

The wallet is being upgraded to add the features it needs- some browsers requiring a manual typing of the wallet address was causing some users to leave some characters out of their wallet address making delivery impossible- if that happened for you just PM me or email support@howlcoin.com with your wallet address and I will make sure your withdrawal gets to your wallet.

The other issue being upgraded is the coin dispense rate- it will be much faster and you will be able to accurately predict the amount of coins you will get per hour. The miner will be back up this weekend and I will post in this thread when it goes live.

 Airdrops are still going out every day however there is a backlog so it is taking some time. We are testing mass delivery on the test net right now (Demand for the airdrop was much higher than anticipated) but either way as long as your form was submitted, you will get your airdrop eventually. If you really do not want to wait feel free to send your wallet address to support@howlcoin.com and you will be included on the manual send out that same day.

 For our airdrop, we cover the gas fees. There is no cost whatsoever to you- if your address is on the list (assuming no typos), you will receive the 100 HWL airdrop.

I joined airdrop today in the webpage and started with the mining nearly 1 and half hours ago ... now I have 1.6 coins already.

So this means for me that I can mine 1 howlcoin each hour. When I mine 15 hours a day; this is 450 Howlcoin in a month. That means I get till 1. January more then 700 Howlcoins  8) 

But I also want to participate in bounty, and this is going to be rock my friend

The miner is now back online. Just hit withdraw if you were running the old one and refresh with control+F5 to clear the cache. Withdrawing through multiple tabs on the same computer will not process anymore, if you are using 1 device to mine, it will only work with 1 thread, so opening a new tab and hitting withdraw quickly won't process the transaction twice. You can however mine with multiple devices.

 When you see the all-red wolf you are running the updated miner.

 All bounties and all mining withdrawals up to yesterday have been sent - if you think you missed out on mined coins during the site outage or when the miner updated, send me a message and let me know. A big wave of airdrops will be going out today. There are some cool new things coming including an updated roadmap showing some of the details of what's happening up to and beyond January 1. Yes, the system will disregard requests that come from a different tab/browser on the same computer now, but it will still process the highest single result.

 You can mine with multiple devices though and the same IP.


It's manual at the moment, there is an automated system that is being tested- it just has to be 100% solid before being released as any glitches could be catastrophic to the coin and allow someone to drain the reserves too quickly.

Sometimes users have claimed to have mined more than is actually possible (Even an "I was mining for weeks and didn't get any coins" only a couple of days after the miner went live, so the system just makes sure the amount of coins being withdrawn correlates to the amount of time spent actually mining. If it detects you somehow attempted to withdraw a ton of coins after only a few minutes or seconds mining, it won't actually submit that transaction in the end.

Also there were about 40 transactions that ran out of gas but they are all getting reset right now, you can see them going through on the blockchain.


Hey, this is not present on any exchanges at the moment, but it will be right before January 1st. It's still possible to trade coins privately if you like with anyone (They are your coins, you can do whatever you like with them) however because we are just getting started there may not be a market for them. The coin is getting it's peripherals in order and before Jan 1 and by that point there will be a live mobile miner app, the current miner will be more refined based on feedback and current tests on automating it, and a few other cool things.


Can't promise a miracle but I can promise to try to make it the most fairly and easily distributed coin out there.

I don't know if it's related, but sometimes when I try to withdraw the number of coins doesn't reset to 0 right away so I've pressed it again. Now I realize that I just need to wait a little bit.

All bounty payments were sent out, so if yours did not go through you may want to resubmit. There were a couple who failed to provide a wallet address and instead wrote "Bounty" in the field that was meant for wallet address. Just go ahead and resubmit with your link and wallet address and it will go through.

As stated earlier, all bounties and mining payouts have been sent and usually arrive within 24 hours. Airdrops are a little different, they are delayed as we have a multi thousand long list, many of which were fake (50 entries in a row with emails like jake@gmail.com john@gmail.com beck@gmail.com etc). We turned on Email verification after this and we have sent out many airdrops so far. We are still sorting the list and sending them out over time.

 Also, anyone can PM me their wallet address if they don't want to wait and I make sure theirs are sent in the next batch.

I got different number of howls from my computers running at the same time.
A laptop with Vista is the most productive, than comes a laptop with Win8, a Mac Pro (10.8.5) and a MBP (10.11.6).
The MBP produces half compared to the Mac Pro, for the same amount of time.
All on Firefox.

Correct me if wrong, but I think it is more productive if HowlCoin Miner is in the first/active tab.

It should run the same on every computer as it is measuring your time on the computer. The miner is being overhauled and will look very different when it is released this week. I will check across many devices to see if I can replicate what you said.

 It's recommended for anyone who kept the miner open to hit withdraw and close it until it relaunches.

Hey I recommend just hitting withdraw now because the miner is being changed in a big way and the old one will not work anymore. As it is being changed it's under maintenance and so a withdrawal request might not process correctly.

This weekend there will be a big update with the new miner. I took a lot of the advice from users and incorporated it in. I'll also create a new video walkthrough for the miner and give a general update on the coin as well.

The Howl Miner is live again, with some internal changes. The ticker updates slower but adds more HWL with each update.

Every 10 seconds that it runs it will add some HWL.

You can earn ~20 HWL per day currently. There may be slight inconsistencies across devices but it should be much less now. The reason it happens is because even if the timer is +0.1% lagged on a different device, it adds up every time new HWL is added. To combat this I changed the timer to 10 seconds. Every time the miner is open for 10 seconds, more HWL is added.

In the future HowlCoin mining may require an action (Similar to a captcha) which would make for a more secure Proof of time.

One main goal of the internal changes is to prevent users from just running the miner in multiple tabs. For a while now the miner has flagged withdrawals that came from the same device. Some users would try to just run many instances of the miner, but this defeats the purpose of PoT because almost unlimited coins could be mined. When that happens, the system flags the withdrawals and they are not processed, only 1 per device. What might have to happen in a future update is that withdrawals will be restricted to 1 IP address at a time, meaning you can't mine on multiple devices under the same IP. As for now though, that is still enabled, so you can mine from multiple devices with the same IP at the moment.


The goal of distributing HWL through Proof of time is simply that mining would be equally accessible to to both the poorest and richest person, allowing for hopefully a very widespread distribution of the coin. Any hardware-intensive based mining solutions, or proof of stake, mean that users with more cash can mine more. That may work for other Cryptos but the point of Howlcoin is to see what happens if the mining playing field is truly equal. Both a poor person and a rich person only have 86400 seconds in a day. Already people have tried to use work arounds to get a ton of Howlcoins but we are constantly working on the miner to prevent this from happening and for the most part it's working great. The only reason mining cannot be 100% automated yet is simply needing to make 100% certain that no work around is possible as any vulnerability in that scenario would be severe.


Cool, they will be put through over the next 24 hours now that the miner has been updated and released. Also, we will begin distributing more Airdrops at the same time. The airdrop sign up has closed but anyone who got their address onto the list successfully will be airdropped 100 HWL.

Over the course of next month a bunch of things will be rolled out.


No, I have been in contact with EtherDelta about officially listing the ticker on there, I am just waiting to send the info to time it for on or close to Jan 1st.

 With EtherDelta, it is at the admin's discretion to list a ticker in their drop down box, however anyone can trade any ERC20 coins without needing approval. Some people have bought and sold HWL coins on there already, so you are able to sell them if you want or buy more without mining.

 I am going to start a small paid ad campaign on January 1 for HowlCoin, so there may be more buy orders that appear on EtherDelta around that date, which gives you early users the chance to offload your coins/airdrops for ETH if you want to do that. The period leading up to Jan 1 allows things to be refined and improved upon (The miner, website etc) so that it's in good shape for the new year. Hopefully by running ads there will be new users to mine, buy and sell Howlcoin.

 There is another project called HowlToken, it seems both projects used the name coincidentally. HowlCoin.com was registered before HowlToken ANN began soon after, but we both just coincidentally used the name Howl. The projects are different, theirs is based on a social media app (it's a cool project, worth checking out), HowlCoin is a coin based on the idea of seeing what happens when a Crypto lowers barrier to entry for mining. The minimum is 0.2 HWL at this time.

I always get the withdrawals from the mining in 1-3 days and I think that is fine. I really like the idea of mining in the browser and to lower the circumstances to mine. Not everyone wants to purchase expensive mining hardware. But maybe you have to work on a clear agenda and roadmap and also a real use case would be really helpful for the token, from my point of view.  One issues I have identified is related to gas. We pay the gas fee of delivering the coins, so we choose a low gas price, however sometimes when sending a large amount of transactions in a short amount of time, due to a nonce issue some of the transactions never arrived.

 I have worked out a solution and I have been working on the full mining overhaul, it will be done very soon. The current miner will stay up until then. If you ever think you missed out on coins just send me a message here, let me know your eth wallet address and how many coins you think it was and I will follow up on it asap.

Is howl coin an investment we can get behind. It doesn't seem to be as active as some of the newer coins even. I think activeness is the major key to success especially with communication to the community.

Some mining payouts were sent however the network is massively clogged and they are not being confirmed.

 There is a new mining system coming shortly that will help with this. Previous suggestions have been taken into account.

All mining withdrawals for the last 24-30 hours are on deck, just have to wait until the network calms down so they can be confirmed, the blockchain is overloaded right now.

The HowlCoin miner has been upgraded to become further in line with the goal of Howlcoin and to prevent fraudulent attempts at mining more coins than is possible.

 The goal of HowlCoin is for the mining to be evenly accessible to everyone- that having the money to buy processors would not give you an advantage of someone who couldn't.

 The idea behind "Proof of time" is simply that both a millionaire and a broke person have the same amount of time. So if time is what you trade for the coin instead of processing power, all users are on a level playing field.

 The miner originally ran on the website and you could leave it running in the background. Unfortunately the system would get flagged with users trying to run the miner on many tabs at the same time and using other automated methods to try to multiply their coins.

 Mining now works in a different way.

 At the top of every hour, a button appears on the miner. If you click the button, you earn 1.25 HWL.

 The button only appears for 10 seconds, at the top of every hour (So at Midday exactly, at 1pm, at 2pm etc). Those are your 10 second windows to collect HowlCoins. This means you no longer need to leave the miner running on your PC. All you have to do is offer your 'time' by being there at the top of the hour to collect your coin. This means a millionaire and a broke person have no advantage over each other- if they are there running the miner at the top of the hour they will get their coin when the button appears and they click it.

This is also a much more secure way to distribute coins. Depending on what happens, we may eventually introduce a Captcha style puzzle to solve instead of it just being a button.

There have been a lot of complaints about mining withdrawal times. While there were many factors contributing to this, one was low gas fees. We use a low gas fee for transactions, however recently these transactions have not been totally reliable and take a long time go through. To make this better, we have made it so that the miner will remember how many coins you have earned, and once you have earned 20 HWL, you can withdraw. This means many users will use the app to hold the HWL temporarily and the withdrawal requests will be less, which means they will go through more efficiently.

If anyone is using the old miner, they should hit "Withdraw" and if you do so soon, that withdrawal will be processed soon. But over the next day the old miner will be disconnected and withdrawal requests will no longer be processed.

Other questions:


 They have been going out slowly and will continue to do so. Before Jan 1 all legitimate airdrops will have been processed.


We have a working app, windows and mac version of the miner, but we have been holding back until the miner is refined (So we don't have to update all of them each time). Depending on how the new miner goes, the others will be released shortly.

I really liked the idea to mine with "time" - leave it running in the background and collect from time to time (would be even better if it would become automatized). Now this system that you have to click something is very similar to faucets (even Captcha in the future), which I find very frustrating. If the main reason for this change is to equalize mining for rich and poor , then why not just do 1 device per IP (it would be too much hassle for "rich" to set up multiples mining places just to mine with a few more devices).

i agree, the 10second timer every 1 hour is so hard to hit that it makes people quit.

This is a good idea, unfortunately it is still fairly easy to overcome, users simply open tabs with proxies. Leaving 20 tabs open in this way would allow them to 20x their mining returns compared to someone who just has 1 open. The button that only appears at the top of the hour means you have to physically act to get the coin and it's very difficult to scale that action to cheat the system. It is a little slower to earn this way but the payout rate will go up if usage is a lot lower.

I've never seen the blockchain as clogged as it has been the last 2 days, but once it drops again payouts and airdrops will make their way out.

I think this "call to Action" Button is a good solution against fraud but no one sitting 24h on the computer and click in this only 10sec. on this button.
A Solution like a Faucet that you can claim every 60min 1.25HWL by pressing a button or filling a captcha is better. When you claim after 80 min you get only this 1.25HWL and the 60min time counter starts new but you have not this short claim time window. That combined with a ip address check gives a fair distribution and every one can claim at any time. What do you think about this?

Yes, I missed like 4 times now just by a few seconds (it irritates people and it leaves sour taste when you miss so). Even when I am sitting at a computer I still miss, because I will browse something and miss by minute or two. I can't think a final solution now, but could you at least make not 10 seconds, but something like 1 minute for now?

Can vpn and proxy problem be resolved by verifying your identity for 1 ethereum address (I don't have a clue how this would be done ???)? You could mine to one address from one IP and if you'd create more address to mine, you will have to verify that it's for a different person.
Then it would be clearly visible which addresses are "cheating" by mining from tons of different IPs.

I assume you can see from which IP people withdraw coins to which eth address? If no, then my advice is worthless in this problem.

Is it possible to check if currently someone is mining for a specific ETH address? Then you could just allow that at the same time only 1 miner is allowed to run for an eth address. Furthermore you can restrict the IP or set a cookie for the specific browser and block it there. Of course I then could create multiple ETH wallets and mine also with different browsers + proxy, but from my side that would be also better then the 10 seconds time windows solution when I have to click the button. There are so much problems like eg you reload and then the button is already gone, stuck internet connection, browser stuck, I think people will not follow that procedure long. Think about it, you are dev. :)

I'm kinda pissed about the new mining system - really hard to actually get any coins.
All so, sometimes, for me, my miner shows that I have 0 coins mined, and after a couple of refreshes it shows my actual balance. (i use chrome for mining).

Since the team initiate a new miner app, I have not been able to mine a single coin, this is very frustrating, if you indeed want to make this a serious project, I don't need to stick to my system always because I want to mine a coin, tell me other coins that you need to mine this way

I'm changing names as the previous name causes some confusion (people thinking the project is abandoned even minutes after an update and a post about the update). The previous name was created when I launched a site called Coin Riddles, where you solve a Riddle to win some BTC or ETH. This username is much better for posting HowlCoin updates.


Other coins have used this method to distribute, however it still allows people to "double dip" or even "10x dip" if they use multiple computers/proxies. It's very difficult to distribute coins to people in a way that prevents double dipping. Though Bitcoin's method of distributing is genius, it's a method that allows anyone with the most money to buy more processors and get more coins.

Also the current HowlCoin miner is not too much different to what you are describing. You can claim the HWL every 60 minutes, the only difference is it has to be at that exact time.


 There is usually always some level of inconvenience to mining. For Bitcoin, that inconvenience is going out and buying a mining rig for thousands of dollars and then having to compete with people/companies who have mining farms (I elaborated on this is the recent update video). For HowlCoin, the problem of having to spend money to mine is taken away and the problem of being able to mine more than anyone else is improved. The negative is that you have to be present to claim your coin. Allowing you to claim your coin in an automated way would allow anyone to set up multiple claims.

If someone can think of a solution where coins can be distributed to individuals automatically without the possibly of them 'double dipping', you have a solved a MAJOR problem and every UBI-coin dev will want to talk to you.


You only have to log on right before the claim time at the top of the hour, but yes it does require a physical presence and click which is what makes it hard for users to double dip. Users who find it too inconvenient will simply not mine and not take part in it- similar to how most Bitcoin users love Bitcoin but don't take part in mining because it's too inconvenient to buy a rig.

EDIT: The withdrawal queue is large and will go out when the blockchain is no longer clogged. As you can see here (https://ethgasstation.info/) the safelow cost is 54cents which makes sending out hundreds of transaction too expensive and slow. Usually the cost is 1-3 cents. Once it slows down withdrawals and airdrops will go out.

Sometimes when I leave miner page open and come back in a hour or two, I find frozen miner timer and have to reload to fix it. Sometimes clicking the button depends on timer not being frozen (when I come back to miner tab only 20-10 seconds before button appears).

I see the new miner is considered too annoying to use so I am going to move it back to the old version with some upgrades. So the old mine is under maintenance- if you are still running it just hit withdraw when you are ready and it will be processed. The new miner will still have a high withdrawal limit to prevent hundreds of requests at once, but it will also offer more HWL per minute, and you will be able to leave it on in the background. This style of miner (build up over time with no click required) is likely to be the final one used.

 Thankfully the blockchain is finally easing in congestion. All pending payouts will be sent out when the SafeLow (https://www.ethgasstation.info/) returns to normal which is 1-2 gwei (if it doesn't happen soon i'll just start sending them at the higher gas price). The new miner will be released this coming week along and at the same time the android app will be released as a downloadable apk also so you can mine from an extra device if you want too. Please if possible use the same wallet address so all payouts can be combined into 1 transaction. Every separate address costs gas/ether to send, anywhere from 0.1c to 30c per payout depending on how clogged the blockchain is.

I will post here again when the new miner is live.

Sorry for the delay, been quite busy. The updated website, miner and more will be up before New Years eve US time. On Jan 1 the top holders will receive more HWL and the miner will be live, with a new walk through video explaining all the changes.

The best new development is we have had a proper mass delivery smart contract created which is what we needed to deliver the airdrops, which will be going out starting in around a day and a half. This smart contract allows us to deliver the airdrops and the mining rewards in a MUCH more efficient manner. We can now batch many transactions into one which allows everything to be delivered much more reliably.

 I will be back on Dec 31st with with the video explaining the updates.

Looking forward to updating, and if some problems are solved, we expect to dig more coins. :)

What is considered top holders - top 100, top 30? Or as written in whitepaper 1000? Now only 444 addreses with HWL exists.

Do we must have 700 HWL to be one of the top holders or it is just estimate? Because only 13 addresses have that much including main address with 99% of tokens.

Everything is pretty much good to go and will be live tomorrow, so it will be possible to mine coins again by the end of Jan 1. Payouts will go to the top wallets before the end of the day also. Even if the blockchain is clogged I plan to put them through regardless of the gas fee, but right now the gas fee is low that its looking good.

I missed a open payout from the old miner in my Wallet (~100HWL). Without these Payouts cant dev not calculate the Top Holders for the additional payout. The Miner have many downtime and in the online Time we can not mine when we are at work and not on the PC. I think a fair way is that the additional Payout for Q1/2018 is splitted with all HWL Holders.

The miner is running again and this time has a much higher withdrawal limit, but it also mines a lot more coins which is about 0.3 every 10 seconds. You can leave the window and return if you need too, it will remember how many coins you have. Payouts will go out on Mondays so you can build your coins up throughout the week without having to have to withdraw regularly.

No that is not the case.  I believe it is now 400HWL withdrawal limit on both Mac and Windows.  It probably is the case on Lux as well but dev can answer that.   It was the case that you could withdraw after mining 20HWL.  I suppose dev decided that the 20 limit could be too low, the tendency of people is to want to withdraw as soon as they hit the threshold.  It was certainly the case for me, i withdrew mostly after mining 20HWL except for what i mine overnight.  Depending on the number of people withdrawing at the 20HWL limit, tx fees could become an issue if each withdrawal is handled as a separate transaction.  I suppose it would be better to combine for addresses though. 
We'll know more once distribution is done by dev on Monday.

The top holder wallets will receive a HWL payment every quarter until supplies run out. Same goes with the mining.


 Thanks for pointing this out, I can see now that the miner pauses when a tab is switched. This was a problem with a previous version and is a minor and easy fix which I will add soon. Other than that the miner should run at the same speed even with other stuff open, it's a simple Unity webgl implementation that shouldnt take up many resources.


No that is totally fine, it is preferred if you use the same wallet addresses as it cuts down on transactions.

 As can be seen on Ethgasstation, the SafeLow cost is currently 12 gwei which is on the way down but it needs to be at its usual 1gwei for payouts to be economical. We have a mass distribution smart contract that delivers the coins however it costs significantly more when the SafeLow cost is high (this happens when the blockchain gets clogged). For example it might cost 30c per payout, so if there are 300 miner payouts on the list for that day, it ends up being around $90.
 And if you select a lower fee than the SafeLow, the transaction might simply never arrive. When the SafeLow returns to 1gwei it's much cheaper. This is why sometimes payouts have to be delayed, it's waiting until the blockchain is less clogged so the transaction fee is lower.

This is not true, there is no background mining and no form of advertisements at all on HowlCoin. Background monero miners like Coinhive are clearly visible in the site's page source code, but there is none of that on HowlCoin.

 While you are right that typically an ERC20 cannot be mined, HowlCoin uses a manual mining system  specifically made for HowlCoin with Unity webgl as an experimental way to distribute coins.

If anyone is familiar with Raiblocks, a manual distribution system is also how that coin was distributed- in their case it was manually through a captcha, Howlcoin tried something similar but went back to a miner that can simply run without anything needing to be pressed.

This is a way to distribute to users without them needing a high end processor. With Raiblocks, this lead to a lot of poorer people in Venezuela being able to take part and earn alot of XRB, when they would not have been able to if they had needed a rack of GTX 1080s.

When I mine with my phone and PC at the same time, the coins mined are different.

 If your phone lags at all while running a webgl game in the browser it might be that the miner is lagging as well.

Regarding mining withdrawals, all are saved and are on deck to be sent out and will be sent as soon as the SafeLow is 1 gwei. I tried sending out all requests this morning but it was going to cost about $98 worth of gas just to send out the current requests, whereas when the SafeLow is 1 it will be under $10. For most the of the year the blockchain was at 1 however it is just being over used at the moment. Hopefully things calm down this month but either way all mining withdrawals are saved and added to the list to go out when the SafeLow is 1.

Edit: Great news, the SafeLow is back 1, we have used our smart contract to begin sending out withdrawals, and they will continue to go out today and in the coming days. Your total withdrawals may be done in multiple parts depending on how many times you withdrew and if you used the same address or not (It is preferred that you do use the same wallet address). I will post here again when all withdrawal requests have been processed.
