Title: What would you like to know about Prism
Post by: charleshoskinson on June 13, 2013, 11:49:29 PM
I'm writing an article for Bitcoin Magazine on Prism and I'd like to ask this community what they would like to know about Prism and how the American Intelligence Infrastructure collects information.

I'll also be covering some ways you can protect yourself from getting snooped on. Let me know.

Do they execute MITM attacks?

Do they hack the computers remotely? What techniques are used?

Do you have any information on how prism works, or are you going pure gumshoe?

Can you provide a web diagram of how PRISM interacts with each form of media and how they filter the information

Yes. Please post requests instead of asking senseless questions. I wouldn't be writing an article on the system if I didn't understand it.

I'll answer these in the article.

As much as I am allowed to diagram, I will.

I would like to know how they plan on attributing endless amounts of uncorrelated evidence to a particular person. I mean this is the point of it after all, to create a dossier on every person so they can go back and say " 'on soandso a date you did this', or 'how could you have been there if your phone information says you were here'", or if thats not their mission with TIA then what is.

Charles.

You have got to listen to this by Steve Gibson (start at 24 minutes in)

I am not sure if this is a question that can be easily answered.

Yes. It is clearly answered...

So, where are all the secret rooms and how many are in foreign countries?

Which Bitcoin Magazine are you referring to? Please share the link.

I'd like to know what is the reason they need such powerful information? what do they plan to do with it?

I'm writing an article for Bitcoin Magazine on Prism and I'd like to ask this community what they would like to know about Prism and how the American Intelligence Infrastructure collects information.

I'll also be covering some ways you can protect yourself from getting snooped on. Let me know.

Using telecommunications agreements they copy data at major routers in exchanges and fiber routers between countries, this data is copied to their own network of which they have established alongside teleco's and they then have the hard job of filtering and analyzing.

Really, if your doing something illegal - be worried of prism.

If your not doing anything illegal - Don't worry at all.

On the bright side, NSA/PRISM has helped govt's around the world stop terror threats.

This is why George Orwell's 1984 is rocketing up the book rankings. People need reminding that a benevolent government today can be a totalitarian one in a few years. Then what happens if they want to find something you have done illegally, because you were putting up anti-government posters? Edward Snowden points out: they can extrapolate criminality into an innocent life because of that person's web of connections.

As a Kiwi you should check out the film "Sleeping Dogs".
