So I am planning on putting 500 euros on Eth and Btc each(€1000 in total) to hold for long term. Is it a bad time to invest in those crypto-currencies?

I can't advise on ETH but BTC just hit an all time high recently. Do you really want to buy at the top?

If you want a short term return don't invest.

If you want to hold on to your investment for 1-5 years then yes invest. A few hundred bucks swinging up or down won't affect you long term.

Just be sure to buy your BTC and then set up a paper wallet and I advise to keep this wallet and private key locked in a safe in 2 separate locations.

the money you invest is not too big, if you want to have interest in a short time, then this is not the time. Bitcoin price recently increased few days ago, often after a price increase will accompany a discount then best you wait for it

Depends what you mean by that, if you want to keep your Bitcoin safe in a general way then an offline wallet is recommended. Bitcoin is currently the best thing to invest in for the long term in my opinion and I would stay away from alt coins for the long term and only trade in them. 

Eth is a much better investment at this point IMO. Or you can go invest in worthy ICOs. Just do proper research. The BTCBTCBTC ship has sailed already and the potential isn't too rewarding anymore.

no its not bad to invest these coins but  its not good either because there always a risk on investing. etherium is best for long term holdings while bitcoin is both for short term and long term, although it is not the best time to buy bitcoin because its value is still high but not on etherium and other altcoins because their values are still low. overall its up to you if you still insist then you must go ahead now and invest as early as possible because their values are still going up through the roof.

There is no such thing too late to invest. There is always a possibility. The most important thing to be able to do it and know what is profitable to invest at the moment. To invest in the ethereum will involve very low risk caused by the ethereum only rise in its dollar value caused by the bitcoin.

well people have been expecting that for years and saying bitcoin ship has sailed then bitcoin price went from $200 to $400. then they said it again when the halving happened and were also saying miners will quit and bitcoin will die. then price went up to $700. then they said bitcoin is dead and ship has sailed becauase there is a backlog and they pumped ETH to $500+ but bitcoin went up to $2000.
then as people were still saying ship has sailed, price went to $4000 but ETH was falling after its pump.
then they said bitcoin is a bubble and the ship has sailed. but it went to $5000 and ETH fell to $300.
then as everyone was again saying ship has sailed price went to $6000 and ETH still struggles to keep the $290-$300 price up.

You've choose to coins that are good for long term. You are in good hands if you'll invest in bitcoin but why not try to allocate 75/25? 75% for bitcoin and 25% for ETH. The profit you can get with bitcoin is even higher than everyone's expectation. I would love to invest more with bitcoin than ETH. Bitcoin is always in good shape whether you'll buy when it's on peak or dip.

I think you got a good opinion in a 75/25 investment with these two coins considering that bitcoin will still skyrocket up high and ETH is in a good position to keeping the pace in the lead of Cryptos, but considering the price of bitcoin and now a all time high and will now make it to $6400 I really think it is not a good time giving a shot with bitcoin because a possibility of a dip may occur when you invest now I think wait for the right time the value drops, and go for the ETH investment.

That's a good amount to invest. Those coins namely bitcoin and Etheroum are known foe each of their best on investment. Etherium is best known for short term investment and Biycoin is known for long term. Given these things, it shows that you did a great idea since both of the coins will surely be profitable for its investor.

Many people will say it's a bad time right now to invest in Bitcoin because it just hit a new all time high today ($6400) and Ethereum just gain a little bit on value, but for me if you are going to invest and hold it for long term, you should do it as soon as possible and don't wait for the right time, it is always the right time for long term Bitcoin investment because more and more people and business are adopting Bitcoin right now. I'm not a big fan of Ethereum but I also put some money on it for long term.

The Bitcoin ship is just getting started. We're still in the early adopter stage, nowhere near going vertical. The potential is still very rewarding.

Ethereum has also passed its innovator stage and has already increased many times in value and it may be still in its early adopter stage but it may never gain the traction of Bitcoin. I wouldn't consider it a better investment than Bitcoin. Don't trust anything without a fixed supply limit, especially if it comes pre-mined to the enrichment of its creators.

ICOs are just scams. No wonder so many governments around the world are banning them to protect their citizens. Stay away from ICOs.

Since it is for the long term then I think that you are good with investing. ETH is currently roaming around the 300 USD level which is very stable so going in now would be a nice decision. BTC, on the contrary, just reached an ATH and is currently on its peak. You may want to wait for a bit and wait for Bitcoin to drop. Waiting too much might lead to a loss of opportunity, though. So going in now is a good decision for both BTC and ETH, just make sure that the definition of your long term is more than a year.

Nice choice, good thing that you are not asking any other coins that doesn't have clear future and long term plans for their investors. You're in good shape with bitcoin and ETH so 500 euros for both of them is a good investment.

In bitcoin it's definitely always a good time to invest on it as the price keeps on increasing just don't be upset when the price starts to decline. That needs to happen for a while but after that it will pump again and with ETH it's a good time to invest now, its price decreased.

Its better to wait for few more weeks before making investment in bitcoin and Ethereum, both of them are at peak prices. Wait for some correction so that you can make safe investment but final decision should be yours.

ETC I think is still cheap in terms of fiat, it can easily go to $18-$20 again from current levels. I am quite bullish in ETC right now, sold half of my Bitcoin to remain in safe side.

Some are asking too that is it the right time to buy bitcoin but the fact that bitcoin is getting expensive and the price is keep on rising, some may have been waiting for the price to go lower than the original. Well it is always rational for one to invest in Bitcoin when its market value is on the decline trends so as to maximize profit when it later increase. I will advise you to wait for a while for the might be a decline soon. For now its hard to be decide to buy bitcoins or ethereum right now the price is really too high.. and we do not know if the price of bitcoin could be increase more since you are waiting for dip price you need to wait for another fork to be done in november 16 if you see the price is getting decreases that will be the time to buy and keep your coins in safety places. Just run a wallet like electrum in fresh computer with antivirus like kaspersky total security cryptocurrency supported that i think your pc are safe for malware keyloggers and viruses..
Just always update it so that they can detect any new malware and viruses in your machine.

75% to bitcoin and 25% to ETH well this is good if you have a big trust to bitcoin. The move of it's price is immense and that will give you big gain in a very short amount of time. And while bitcoin is on the trend you have 25% of ETH that is on hold and it's value gets lower but when opposite thing is happening to bitcoin, ETH will be increasing too so just be aware about it.

I think it's great time to invest in ethereum, for it's now worth $300 which is a very reasonable price. I think in a few months this will bring you up to 2x profit. Bitcoin, on the other hand, is at its peak currently, so perhaps it is better to wait for some time within this month if you plan to hold less than a year. Nevertheless, if you plan to hold for several year I would recommend to buy both eth and btc and perhaps more btc than eth because so far it's always better long-term.

I think it is still a god time.to invest in btc, but I doubt if investing ETH will be a good move. Rather than investing into ETH, I would rather if you would just invest all on bitcoin or use the 500 euros to just buy off any other altcoins with more potential for growth, better yet just keep it to yourself and just spend it starting business of your own. Bad investment right now would be Eth because bitcoin speculation is still hot better invest all in bitcoin. Ether updates isn't helping its price to hold or go up which shows people are still confident in BTC

ETH looks great on paper but it's a mess. Instead of smart contracts i only see ICO's scams. Rootstock and Simplicity offers a more solid solution.

You should move those 1000 Euro into Bitcoin only if you go long term. If ETH was really that good i'm sure most people here already have a big bag.

Your decision is good that you want to invest in crypto currency and choosing two best coin in crypto currency market, much better if you equally divided your 500 euro in these two hoping for your success in the world of investment. Much better also that you do other method to increase your earning.

Who told you it's bad? Bad is your investing in eth lol. That's a alt and alts are no good. You'll earn lots of money in Bitcoins and will find superior returns in it to. Hold for the long term and invest on every dip so you have a good average over time. Investing in Bitcoin is the best decision you'll make, so put money in it and it possible we can see 7k before this year end. You have made a very good decision now, just invest in Bitcoin and see the magic.

You can put 500 euros each but I suggest maybe you can put in bitcoin higher than eth. I think 70/30%,  70% bitcoin and 30% eth because bitcoin has more potential than eth although eth is one if the best altcoins but maybe it is better to put more in bitcoib because we all know bitcoin can be higher than $6500. Best investment today is into bitcoin.

Someone already said that you need to think twice if you plan to buy bitcoin, price is at new top and definitely price will rise and you will make profit but maybe you will need to wait for it. Price can drop anytime under 6.000$ before it makes new records. Its always good to invest in bitcoins but ifbyou wish to maximize your profit you need to wait good time for buying.
About eth I can't say many things, price is around 300$ for months, there are many projects based on ethereum smart contracts and I'm sure that price of eth will start to rise. Go for both and if you wish big profit wait for longer, and you will have it one day.

I completely agree with you, Although Bitcoin shows a huge increase in its price, only the etherium is more stable. But in this situation, you still need to choose something that is more expensive.

i suggest both, but btc has more potential because of its rate especially now and maybe up to the end of this year, if you will look at btc, it has more promising profit because of the trend nowadays.  eth is good though, but because btc is more accessible, any other way around, have a profitable turnouts on your investments.

I think investing in bitcoin will be more beneficial . If we see the market now , all other altcoins have faded in front of bitcoin . I think the amount you are investing is not very huge and there might be very negligible profits using it .
