Hey guys,

Just got my antminer d3 today very loud machine and still getting very high temps. Tried mining for 40 mins and Chain 2 and Chain 3 showing HW 3 and HW 14 should I be worried? Chain one showing HW = 0.
What is HW stands for? I got no instructions with this device kinda lost.
Also, nonce# 0.0184% and diffa# 0.1615%.  :'(  Is that safe to let it run like this ? I turned it off for now.

Nothing you are describing sounds even remotely out of line. HW are just hardware errors, they happen to every miner ever and are nothing to worry about unless you are seeing thousands in a very short time period.

You are good with those numbers... but when you posting something like "still getting very high temps" we need to know what those thigh temps are mean :)

I have a few D3 , 2 or 3 of those had higher temp , and higher hardware error than another ones i have .
What i did , i updated that 3 miners with the latest firmware from Bitmain : Antminer-D3-201709131713-0M.tar.gz (https://s3.cn-north-1.amazonaws.com.cn/shop-bitmain/download/Antminer-D3-201709131713-0M.tar.gz)
That fixed my problems with that 3 miners .

Where can I see my actual FW version?
Is it in the overview tab?

some of my d3 hashboards have been playing up

temps are 55, 63 and 3rd one is running very hot 75- 78 idk what's happening.
I'll try to update the firmware thank you for your advise. Can i back up my original firmware?

Run your fans faster ,try to keep chip temps at 70 and below , machine will last longer and will help keep hw errors down. Down clock frequency speed if major issues continue. Firmware update doesn't always fix this. Changing pools and difficulty levels can help.

Do you lose the warranty if you downclock it rather than overclocking it? And I remember reading a way which would make it impossible for them to tell that you overclocked the machine, does anyone here know what I'm talking about? Anyways, I wouldn't recommend overclocking a D3, especially 19.3 version. Mine is the 17 one and it stays under 63C most of the time. It works flawlessly for days and it's also pretty silent.

Hey guys, has anyone had this issue?  I only have 55 chips out of the 60 working, the HW keeps going up and I've tried reflashing bitmain's D3 update.

I have the same problem, I have been in contact with Bitmain support - it is a faulty hash board. I need to return it to HK for repair. Really annoying as I will be with the board for a few weeks.

Thanks for answering, so I'll get in contact with bitmain, but do you think I should keep mining with that board or should I disconnect the pcie from it.  Also do I have to take the board apart and send it off?

Had the same issues as you guys, But i`ve did 3 things that solved my Hardware Errors.

1 - Remove the Miner from near field of energy voltage cables
2 - Outside the miner stick Reflect-a-Gold tape ( Google it, I bought on amazon ) all around the silver aluminum chassis ( The Antminer will looks like some NASA Satellite ).
3 - put it @ side, not trait-up with the network card up, just turn it on one side.

This is very weird, but I have more than 24 hours, 0 errors running @ 19.3GH/s

Before I needed to run it @ 508 Mhz to avoid errors.

I have a similar question regarding HW errors, my D3 that has only been running for 3 days now and have been having varying results with my HW errors.
The first day I ran it, the following numbers were my results:

310, 0, 251 (nonce# 0.081% diffa# 2.35%) after 1.5 hours.

Today I ran it for almost 10 hours and had the following: 615, 545, 0 (nonce# 0.0232% diffa# 0.7781%)

Restarted the D3, and after an hour, I had the following: 3, 0, 125 (nonce# 0.0234% diffa# 0.59%)

The thing that worries me a bit is that it is never consistent, not always the same chains have HW errors and the rate at which they occur is never the same.
I have been struggling to find an "acceptable" number for HW errors, I know that they are "normal" for ASIC machines just trying to figure out at what point is it no longer normal?

Guys, can high number of hw errors physically break chips / hashboard?

Hello guys  I´v been using D3 for some time now with custom firmware i never had any problems i was OC it for 3 months but tempratures were ok all the time. but now one of my chains didn´t show up so i reseted and noticed i get around 80HW per sec on 1 chip which normaly had 60 ASICs but now it shows 54   , tryed to reflash firmware , reconent cables and now i get 55 asics : the thing is the hashing board is working fine had it running for 2 days with bilions of HW before the chain ddoesnt show  up , i just reboot it and its running again but with shitloads of HW it seems to be hardware problem with hashing boad  my D3 is not under warranty anymore so should i just let it run with those HWs waiting for the chip to burn ? or is there any way to fix it ?

Yeah, same problem (likely you are running on 120v like me) what I found works is sometimes increasing the voltage on the board by 1-2 and lowering another board that works by 1-2. Then I found out switching from "silent" to "performance" or vice versa kicked all 60 back up.

Lmao I have thousands and thousands of hardware errors. They all come because of being on 120 volts... it sucks.

No, unless the chips get too hot and burn or get a sudden voltage spike and get fried. Just make sure they are cool and the power supply doesn't suddenly drop/spike.

Sorry for being a bit late at the party, but it can be that one of the chips on your hashing board is just a bad chip. In case you can get the board running with the HW errors I would say just ignore those few HW errors.
Increasing / decreasing the voltage might help you out.

I have a d3 now with almost 2,000,000 hw..... I might restart it someday.
