Title: LUXcoin - Beware! Scam! Next Signatum is in progress!
Post by: soothaa on November 01, 2017, 07:36:29 PM
This coin has been a shitshow from the start.

1) The dev has a massive premine of 3,000,000 coins which they pink promise they won't dump  ;)
2) Failed update after failed update. They've put out mandatory wallet upgrades several times this week
3) Dev has now declared a soft-fork this week which will devalue all previously mined coins by 75%
4) Masternodes still do not work right, of a staggering 16,000+ coins. Over $50,000 USD
5) They are actively censoring any negative comments in their ANN thread and in their Discord.
6) They have now either banned any account that has said a negative word or shut it down entirely. EDIT: it would appear simply kicking those who say anything negative.
7) They cannot even handle Discord correctly. Putting important and required information in any channel they are in at the time and ignore the #annoucement channel.
8 ) The 16,000 needed for a MN was sold to an "investor" from their premine. This investor is now basically holding a bag that just drop > 50% in value and even more in future earnings.
9 ) Mastnode change?  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2345819.msg23891796#msg23891796)
10 ) Devs have now changed their minds  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2345819.msg23892038#msg23892038) I am still not touching this coin.
11) I do not know how I have not mentioned it until now, but the WhitePaper is STILL not released. They swear it is coming though.
12) Dev tries to explain away thousands of coins moving (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2345819.msg23893744#msg23893744)
13) Dev caught stealing their logo (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2345819.msg23908100#msg23908100)

This whole thing screams of people who have no idea what they are doing.

This is the exit scam in progress. Do not touch this coin.

Sorry, I guess I am gullible. I am willing to give people a lot of support while they get started. I supported them too far this time.

Unconfirmed post that their Masternode price increased by 10x, which would be an obvious attempt at trying to sell off their premine.

This project did not start best, but calling it scam because you are weak says rather something about you not about project.

This one should without a doubt prove this. User Shkembe discovers a large amount of coins (far too many to have been mined) have been moved to Cryptopia and he is immedately declared a troll, then linked to his own account as an excuse, then finally the devs admit they moved the coins there to test the wallet.

If that in your mind is "providing evidence" then you probably don't know what is the meaning of evidence... I was only showing that it's possible to have a huge miner depositing his coins, as you are one example of a big miner. It was before Lux-Team claimed the deposit but it's now clear isn't it?

Do not say nonsense, at the time of writing there were only 154,000 coins mining out where this great miner would come from? The one who pointed to you, by the way, my own address is a lot less. What about the transaction shown in blockexplorer? For joy you can not call it a fake. It comes from the developers' address and goes to Cryptopia. The fact is that you were not aware of this, trying to protect them and make mistake, as it became clear after they confessed. In your place I would have been lower than the grass after this unlucky gaff.

Be honest first and then a member of the LUX team.

The shills/fake accounts in here are hilarious. There was even less evidence against SIGT for quite a while until that melted down. But if you're not convinced by all this, you won't be convinced until they've exited and you've lost a bundle.

Well, it was an interesting project initially when its name under PH1612 with no premine mentioned in the thread.

After a while, few more people join the project, make it premine, set masternode min. 16k coins (wow, its really wow) with 100k coins transferred to cryptopia for testing purpose  ;D ;D ;D

For coin transfer testing, they can just transfer it into their own wallet under same app, no need to send it to exchange for "LOAD TESTING"  :D :D :D

You seem to be nonsensical here, I simply put out a possibility then and had no proof of the deposit made by the team. At what point did I call it "fake"? I'm not protecting anybody but myself, man is claiming that I'm putting out some "evidence" that it was the miners... It was just an example of big miner which many of them together could do such deposit lol...
You guys like to twist words alot I see.

I totally agree with your post. LUXcoin might be a big scam. Since the start of the project, they chose randomly someone on the Discord channel, put them as moderators, supervisors, etc. Thats very weird since the beginning. Be carefull with the project. You can ask someone who joined the Discord channel at earlier stage, they will verify the information for sure.
Hope it helps!

This simply doesn't make sense.

Why claim to have designed something when CLEARLY it hasn't been.

Blackmailed them? Blackmailed for what? Coin?

I don't usually comment on things like this, but this is WAY maladjusted for my liking.

I think the 'dev' team need to come out publicly and debunk your claims, or explain themselves, or both.

Good point's there mate.

Do you have information? I am leaning towards this is not a blatant scam, just a group of guys who have absolutely no idea what they are doing, which is FINE if they are up front about it and say they're just working on a project for fun, but that is not what they are saying.

wow. nearly cheated by the devs and their team. i almost buy their coins at the cryptopia. luckily i saw this thread. what a huge premined coins they are holding. this is totally unfair and they could dump the coins and exit any seconds.

signatum is a scam too? damm i am holding like 100 plus signatum hoping the price would skyrocket in a few years.

thanks for letting us know.

I think its time BCT forum to start showing some more info about scam dev accounts. IP addresses and some other stuff. I dont like how BCT forum owners are staying in neutral position while scammers are using their forum for liying people. Yesterday was SIGT, todays is LUX, next day we will have another scam online.

new algorith (whith skein, fungue, gost), pow/pos, premine (sigt did not have a premine officially, but first blocks were generated in a very premine-like facion), cryptopia ... means that you need to search for raptor_fck() in the code, this is a scam from the same sigt ppl. The only positive thing in this is that "the doc and friends" are becoming better at fcking peoople up. Somebody just needs to pay some xmr to solve this problem.

Since the coin is going kind of crazy at the moment. Are there any news?
Besides this thread I think it's only a p&d coin but this sure is interesting now.

This coin might be legit. Koreanjewtrading is pushing it and he's pretty reputable.

Seems like there's  coming out a lot of news from media outlets that are pretty positive on this coin, I'm in it myself and the community is growing and quite nice.
There's always that chance that it is a scam but same goes for everything else in crypto. The premine doesn't really bother me, you got plenty of ICOs raising millions of dollars, more than this premine, without a product and just a ''vision''. Plus this stuff costs money, I personally kind of understand it but I can see it's quite frustrating when you want to get invested and have to worry about the devs dumping or not. But there's a lot of support for this coin.

But overall it seems like its getting picked up more and people are eager to see and hear more about this coin. Time will tell.

HodlerBaggins...Can you please stop the fud whenever LUX is mentioned in a thread.

We know you probably missed out on getting a masternode early on, or you were kicked from TG/discord, but you don't need to run around trying to convince everyone that we aren't a hard working team with great tech and a real shot and building something BIG!

If you're just looking for your comments to create a dip and an entry point, then jump in now, because almost all coins are down today :D

I never said your team isn't hard working.  I said the red flags are huge.

Getting a masternode early on was basically impossible as a miner.  Your block reward is tiny and masternode takes 16,000. I guess it's easy when you premine the shit out of it, eh?

Nothing significant differentiates this coin from all the other Dash masternode clones.

It looks like your devs are in fact working really hard to run away with some nice profits after you are able to pump it.

I'm not spreading FUD, I'm calling out what I see after looking into it.  I just happened to find this thread after I posted elsewhere... looks like I'm not the only one.

The intention has NEVER been that a miner with a few cards/rigs could get enough coins for a masternode!
It has and always will be that you need to be a serious investor who is willing to invest and will dedicate resources to keeping a masternode running 24/7 x 365.
Simple as that!

You've obviously made up your mind, and clearly have an axe to grind for some reason.
We'll keep working hard on new features and doing the best we can to hit all of our milestones.

Following me around trying to deflect what I'm saying without disputing it isn't making this look less scammy.

It's clear that that actually making it decentralized was never the intention.  It frankly looks like the intention is to dump the massive premine...

Why would a big time investor invest a lot in this coin? other than to try to profit and dump the bag on somebody else?  That would be stupid risky with your massive premine since you could dump 65% of the circulating coins tomorrow and leave them holding the bag.

Good luck to you and your team - I hope you prove me wrong.

Either the Devs are too clueless to see how bad this all  looks or they just dont care... Either way it's bad... Doesn't look as bad as some of the scams I've seen on here so maybe it's legit.

Trying to sell it to the guy calling it out as a scam is pretty funny.  Good stuff there.

I'm not trying to deflect...I'm just annoyed that we have a team that's working really hard to build something great, and you're trying to talk shit about us all over the place.
Not wanting to invest in us because you don't like the math/premine is one thing, but actively calling us a "Holy shitcoin" pisses me off and I felt the need to defend our team.

I'm done, good luck with whatever floats your boat

I'm not trying to sell anyone anything.

If you like our project, jump on board. If you don't there are plenty of other coins out there that might fit your needs better.

Funny that since the first topic was posted, LUX has become stronger and stronger, and has taken off :D

I downloaded the wallet when this coin first launched and planned on mining it. Something didn't sit right with me and I just ignored it. Boy am I glad I did. It would surprise me if this coin actually turns out to be legit.

You definitely would of been surprised if you mined/bought some coins back in October/November and then checked the price recently

To me it looks like the project has *only* one developer (not one core developer, but only one developer), as it can be inferred from the GitHub page:
https://github.com/216k155/lux/graphs/contributors

I wouldn't count a dozen commits as serious, long-term contribution.

This is a bit concerning, given that there've been constant references to a "team", but it seems to me it's a dev team of one. Good luck to the project regardless, if it's indeed not a scam.

Honestly the safest investment option in crypto world is Bitcoin and Ethereum, I trust these two the most, others are higher risk investment, I'm so over new projects nowadays, they are 99% ready to scam investors
