Title: Bitcointalk.org Account trading Legal/Illegal [VOTE]
Post by: Bitcoin_BOy$ on November 02, 2017, 12:49:35 PM
Bitcointalk.org was created 2011, and still nobody of its members ((859753 total members)) know if trading accounts is legal or illegal.
I created this poll for voting.

Your poll lacks a bit of explanation. Are you looking to collect votes possibly with the intention to show theymos that account sales should be banned? Or just look to see what's the general opinion? What's the real purpose?

If you read the forum rules, which is something that people here should do from time to time, then it's clear that account sales as per the rules aren't illegal. It's however heavily frowned upon by the community.

Exacly what I'm looking for. And if wasn't illegal in the past some users giving negative trust to anyone trying to sell accounts, they're abusing trust system too.

You already know the answer to this but are disregarding everything everybody is continually telling you.

Yes, it is currently not disallowed or "illegal" to sell forum accounts. However, it is against the rules to sell or trade in hacked accounts. Regardless of that, most people think it's a scummy practice to do so and will leave appropriate feedback for it, so nobody is abusing the system if they have left the feedback based on what they personally find unacceptable.

I think you're not understanding the problem, I didn't sell any account anywhere, who tell you I hacked accounts ? No one said that even

No, instead you farmed accounts to abuse a giveaway thread another thing which is frowned upon by the community, you also claim to have lost those accounts through a hack and then ask whether it's "legal" to sell accounts. It really doesn't look good, but at the end of the day you abused a giveaway with farmed accounts.

Selling accounts is allowed by the forum, as long as they haven't been obtained maliciously.

The giveaway didn't forbid multiple accounts, please understand.

No, I understand the issue perfectly. Accounts you admittedly farmed have been sold or hacked and used to promote ICO scams.

They're hacked and I can't do anything with them is this my fault ?

Rest in peace

However trading accounts (which are not stolen/hacked), is not illigal, I think that it should be.

It is probably impossible to implement, but I think it would be best for everyone if anyone was limited to just one account. If someone cheats, they are cought for life. That's how it should be.

The poll is useless because the question is wrongly worded. Stop opening so many damn threads about this.

It's legality is not the issue - it's desirability is.

What the DT's are doing is leaving a feedback on your account that you are doing account trading. They are not saying that it is illegal but just leaving a note that your account might came from a sold account.

Account trading may not be illegal but the purpose behind it may have a negative effect. Imagine someone who just registered to the forum that can buy an account, how sure are we that he is giving an accurate reply to the threads, if his real purpose is just to join the forum for discussion then it a new account is not a problem.

DT's are just avoiding accounts to be farmed for the purpose of joining campaigns and scamming other people since it's inevitable that a hero account looks more legitimate than a member account.
