Title: why does my pc seem freeze everytime i try to playback a video file while mining Post by: tarui on June 15, 2013, 06:09:44 PM i notice my pc always freezes up whenever i try to playback a video file/flash file or anything while mining.
ordinary internet surfing is fine. it seems gpuz also has the same conflict with mining. but strangely, msi afterpower, sapphire trxx software works fine. amd 6990, running at 880/1250 (overclocked bios) cgminer version is 3.2.1 ati drivers version 11.6 Title: Re: why does my pc seem freeze everytime i try to playback a video file while mining Post by: Raoul Duke on June 15, 2013, 06:11:45 PM no flash. it needs your gfx card to play. on youtube switch to html5 mode on your account settings and you're good to go.

You have to change it on your settings? I thought it was automatic. And wouldn't HTML5 video still be using the video card for playback (codecs), therefore still causing the same issue? Maybe HTML5 doesn't need to use the hardware acceleration, or it's turned off by default, dunno. I think you can also turn hw accel. off in the flash settings. Yeah, through Flash you have the option for sure, although I still think for videos it has to use the codec... Not 100% sure on that one though. I guess it's worth a try, XD. Then the issue is that you're mining (using all your video card) and then trying to use more of the video card. It can only support so much. Set your intensity down to like 4 (sha) or 12 (scrypt) and you should be fine. I do that for gaming as well. If you're mining BTC, you'll want -I 4, if you're mining anything else, -I 12. If you are inputting all the server info and such in cgminer itself, push g, then i, then 4 or 12 and hit enter. |
