Title: What should I invest into?

you can always invest in bitcoin if you want to hold it long term because in short term there may be lots of fluctuations and specially now that price has risen a lot and fast it may not be the best time for an investment for short term.

with $2500 you can build a GPU mining rig and mine GPU-mineable altcoins. i believe you can buy 5-6 GPUs and get a nice hashrate. and if your electricity is cheap already that can be a nice setup to make money. check out http://www.coinwarz.com/ and similar mining calculators for more information.

GPU mining is currently not very profitable. You can maybe try buying ASIC BTC miner (if you can, they are hard to find) but the best bet now is to invest into Bitcoin directly. If you are looking for short term profit now may not be the best time, but if you are planning to hold for lets say a year then current price does not matter.

investing in bitcoin is good imho, or you can invest in bitcoin cash, i think will rise a lot, because it follow bitcoin, not like other altcoin, and some big chinese farm, are pushing to use bitcoin cash more, by removing payment of bitcoin, for their asic

Invest some portion in BTC ad rest in Alts. As after forking alts will surely boom. Alt like ether is stable on $30 since couple of month and ready to boost again.

You can try investing in some good altcoins such as NEO, IOTA. Try different ones. They have a lot of potential and one day might reach a good price and reap you good amounts of profit.

You can check out Altcoins sections in this forum for a better idea.

If you have to choose one or the other then I would recommend putting it into Bitcoin since there's a lot more money to be earned through that and it has less maintenance fees associated with the whole thing, compared to having to maintain a mining rig and make sure that it is working at full capacity 100% of the time. You'd have to be paying for heating, potentially cooling costs depending on your local environment, there would be looking after them and making sure their mining, etc.

Much better to put it into Bitcoin since $2.5k only takes you so far and requires a lot more care, plus a loss of aftermarket value.

Always you can invest on BTC but in short time it doesn't profitable. I think you can invest on Altcoins like Litecoin, ETH and some ICOs as well. ETH is good these days and in 3-4 months ago it was good growth. Also a lot of people invest on it these days.

Mining hardware probably wouldn't be bad when it comes to making money over the long term, but looking at the markets you'd get way better returns investing into Bitcoin now and if you're still interested in mining later, then you can take some of your returns and invest them so you have a larger hashing power and larger returns from the mining hardware.
Now it has been a while since I did any of this, so I don't know what kind of hashing power is the sort of barrier to entry when it comes to the entire mining game, but I would assume it is still relatively high.

investing is a great way to become a millionaire, but investing in this bitcoin is a better way to invest. investing in the form of money is very time-consuming in the long run but investment in the form of coin it does not need a long time. This is how to place a better investment with bitcoin.

go straight for bitcoin then hold until you double your money because mining needs a lot of additional expenses aside from hardware like maintenance and electricity cost and that is if you already have a place to put your miner if you don't have you will have to rent a place that is why I think it is much better to just buy and hold BTC.

I personally wouldn't bother with mining gear as an investment.

Bitcoin looks like a good investment if you're prepared to hodl. I would hedge on some NMC/PPC too if you're prepared to trade as I think that will pump in the coming few days.

I think you should buy bitcoin and then hold them for long enough to make enough profit to buy a mining rig. I think that is much safer and by then you will have had plenty time to do your research and learn all about mining.

I think it's good to wait until it doubles like you said but I think the cost of electricity is not the biggest issue. Learning what to mine and when and how to setup a good mining rig is a bigger issue then the cost to run it.

Some people including me want to invest in bitcoin mining hardware. But the price fluctuations are making us confused. What do you think about this? Should we directly invest and start mining without lookin at the current price of bitcoin on the market?

It is the best investment in bitcoin because possibly the price will become double than the current now. In Ico's we couldnt say it become success after, so I prefer to invest in bitcoin and hodling for long term is good.

This are my favorites.

Ethereum: Had 40x growth rate over the last two years. Allows to build fully-functional applications on blockchain without middlemen. Extremely promising currency, solid team (take a look at what Vitalik Buterin is doing right now). #2 crypto right now — but still 1/10 of the Bitcoin value. So even while being conservative, thinking that any crypto would not grow higher than BTC, it may grow 10x. Still 10x is a small amount — compared to other solutions on the market. So, not extremely yummy for a long game.

Factom: A blockchain-based system that’s optimized to store millions of realtime records with a single hash. Useful for all kinds of business apps. Runs on top of Bitcoin.

For me, I would have a portion for mining and a portion for trading but a large portion would be for the latter. Around 4-5 nice gpu would be suitable for that. It will give you a decent amount of hashrate. Try to mine altcoin with highest algorithm. Bitcoin has high difficulty now so I think it is not profitable in ratio with electricity cost. As for trading, I would allocate some for bitcoin and some for altcoins. I cant reccommend hodling for a long time, specially for alts, as it would have the tendency to be crushed when bitcoin reaches ATH. When I trade, I always put a stop loss to prevent my portfolio being “burned”. But in trading I can say that it can give you a nice profit compare to mining if and only if you do it right.

Investing into bitcoin would be better as it gives you better return value than mining bitcoin. Mining right now is pretty hard. You need to be careful about every expenses you make so that you can profit in the long term. Through buying btc, you could hold and wait for the value to go higher. It will also help the community as the demand will go higher.

investing in bitcoin is very profitable and actually there is no late word to invest in bitcoin even though now the price is increasing many times compared to last year, if you want to invest in the mine it is much better, because you will get a doubled profit from the mine and also increase coin price in the long run.

you need to consider the consequences first before deciding to buy a mining hardware because mining difficulty these days has increased drastically due to the competition of miners and mining also cost much electricity and will result to a high electrill bills , also mining hardwares are expensive and its quite hard to operate therefore investing on to bitcoins or other alternatives is the most highly recomended to save yourself from hassel and too much expences.

Looking at the BTC prices now is very expensive , with $ 2500 I will not take a mining options and prefer to buy BTC and altcoin.
As the BTC prices continue to rise, Altcoin's price drop below the normal price but it's a good time for investors to buy Altcoin (risk remains), because it will return to normal prices.
I suggest you to split them: 30% Altcoin, 70% BTC and hold it, I think it will be good.

Invest in the coin, not the mining hardware. twofold; there is way more opportunity in the straight up bitcoin investment, without the risk of the miners. consider: what if that fucker breaks? your bitcoin wont break, doesnt need uptime, and empirically, you will get a decent return for just sitting on your coins.

Secondly, if you go the miner route you will either spend more than 2500 for the entire setup, or you will get less than 2500 worth of hardware if you a smart.

You havent factored in electricity yet my man.

And look at alts, possibly more upward potential

A lot of cryptocurrency are now emerging but the originals are Bitcoin. We also have one of the best, Ethereum! Let me add that the Propthereum ICO crowdsale will run off a decentralized Smart Contract that runs on the Ethereum Blockchain. It is secured with a 256-bit encryption which makes it secure and reliable. Propthereum Tokens will be minted as PTCs. These coins are a digital representation tracking the funding of our ICO and crowdsale. The pre-ICO token sale will take place on November 10, 2017 at 12PM GMT. For more information, visit www.propthereum.io

Investing in BTC is no mistake right now. It is long-term profit but you must be patient. After a couple of years, you will be glad about your investment. Buying mining equipment is risky cause first you must decide which coin to mine. Mining the BTC is more and more complicated cause structure of the blockchain. My advice - invest in BTC!

If you want a investment that you dont have to do other that waiting. Probably go in bitcoin but if you want, you can also diversify your investments into some altcoins. Before investing be sure you know and have the idea of whatcoin you are goin to go through.
Mining right now is also a good to go through. Gpu mining is the best. But you had to have a good knowledge in assembling computer parts and some Overclock tweaks for your gpu to maximize you profit.

Put it straight into your bitcoin, you can add some if you have money to put in. Think of it just like you are also saving into your bank account. I guess mining hardware is very expensive to have. Putting some money invest it in bitcoin for me is good start. Buy and hold is a good and safest strategy I would suggest.

In my opinion with 2500$ you should start trading or invest in some good ICO project. If you wanna become a miner I think you shouldn't do that cause your capital is not enough to get big profit from mining everyday. Beside the diff of Bitcoin and all other cryptocurrencies is increasing day by day so join mining with 2500$ is not a good idea. Let try trading or investing in ICO project moreover you can use that amount to buy Bitcoin and claim free Bitcoin2x after the upcoming hardfork :)

Trading is the best choice, but I don't know about ICO. Lately we have heard a lot of them turning into scams, so I don't know if is a better choice right now. With trading, well with a good knowledge and experience it can really be profitable at the end of the day. Also holding is a good choice, because you have nothing to do but to hodl on your coins and just let it sit at your wallet and in just a few months your money will grow clockwise.

Mining trust me is becoming a very expensive job these days. You just cant put $2500 in mining and expect some great returns. But if you want a fixed monthly return which might even be low. You can go for mining software. But I would personally recommend to put it in btc and start trading to.earn endless returns.

Invest in yourself and expanding your knowledge. For example, you can mine domain names, and sell them for Bitcoin. A $9 hand reg name can yield $100 or more in Bitcoin. However, like everything else, you need to learn what sells and how to buy it. Always remember, you have to invest money to lose money. :)

I recommend mining because it will do both mining and investing jobs all at once just buy first a mining hardware because mining work is easy, after all your fastest computers, hardware and electrical main source support are all set then all you have to do is wait and earn. As more and more transactions are always happening in the block chain, miners would be surely gaining everyday then while you are collecting your bitcoin you are already investing and starting to hoard it for your future trading.

Mining doesn't seem good at this point and honestly speaking $2500 is not much amount to be put into mining hardware. Gosh they are very costly. And even if people are talking about GPU miners then also its very costly and prices for there upgrades are increasing like lightening speed. So it would be better to invest your money into bitcoin and just hold it for long time. The benefits ? Well, if you would had invested into it last month at the rate of 1800-3000 $ then you could have earned double the invested amount and thats what will happen in next year and to the next year of that and so on. This cycle will always be there but mining would be costly each year too.

Mining is not anymore profitable because now   Bitcoin is very hard to be mined with weak machines . You have to invest thousands od dollars in powerfull processors in order to earn a little profit . So , I would recommend you to invest straight in Bitcoin or ethereum  because it is easier , and the price will surely go up in next years.

Mining hardware at least the very best will cost you a lot more than $2500 and probably isn't going to earn that back unless you have a cheap electricity bill. I would recommend investing alt coins with such a small amount to invest and then convert those back into Bitcoin.

Trading with bitcoin would be more cost efficient than mining. Buy some bitcoin an trade with it this is the best way to earn profits, or better yet just hold some bitcoin this won't give you high profits but your wallet balance will increase for doing absolutely nothing. Etc has also come up so give a chance to some alt coins too.

I think you should put it in bitcoin instead of mining, the hard fork event is about to happen so if you put it all in bitcoin you will get something free and the value it gets can be high.

In my opinion you are better off investing it in bitcoin right away. You may ask why not mining? the answer to that is your 2500USD is not enough for mining. Antminer alone cost more than 2500, yeah sure there are cheaper ones but you will not be getting enough hash. Plus you still have to electricity bill to be accounted for also the maintenance of the miner, and if you are only going with just one miner you will not be making that much profit. You are just breaking even.

All I can say is invest something that you know and knowledgeable about and not to something that is told or suggested by your friend or someone you just met in the internet. We can earn through knowledge and not because it is in as of the moment.

I think investing in bitcoins will be more profitable than buying mining hardware as i dont think so that $2500 is enough to get good hardware for getting a good hashrate and also the electricity bill so it can go to loss.Investing in bitcoins for long term will most probably earn you a good amount of profit.

I think you should invest in bitcoin, why not Bitcoin mining? Because
1) it may seem profitable to you now but after a year or so it won't as bitcoin network repeatedly adjusts the difficulty of mining almost every 2 weeks, so that it's mining rate remains constant. In coming years more and more people will be mining for Bitcoin, then it'll become less profitable to you.
2) Bitcoin mining is expensive, cost includes a dedicated machine, accounting for it's storage, electricity, security and a constant internet connection, also it's maintenance and long duration of time and effort. With your amount of initial investment there's no extra profit.
3) While mining the value of bitcoin will increase or decrease or even remain unstable in cases of technical errors.
4) The transaction fee is low as compared to the investment that you will put towards the hardware, electricity etc.
Therefore buying bitcoins is more profitable and instant. As you'll get the pre-discovered bitcoin. Think of it as a gold investment. It's value will increase as it's years passes by. You have $2500 worth of bitcoins now, let's say you want to cash that out after 5 years you'll certainly get a bigger amount than you invested in. It's more like a future savings amount.

Invest it now into bitcoin because surely you gonna gain profit after few months, but in the mining you need to wait for long to have it and profit.
Since btc grow fast now and surely before the end of the year it will grow.

I believe that Bitcoin mining is a serious business now and we should leave it for those who treat it in that way. If you think you can put your time in order to conduct mining activities in a professional way as required for the profit-making, then I don' see any issues with it. However, I think since we are in the early phase, Bitcoin is undervalued (still, I don't support the sudden surge in the price) now and it will perform very well in the long run so I would choose the direct investment in BTC with a systematic investment plan.

Yes, like what you said, i will also considered that to invest in bitcoin is good way that i should going to do in my money, because i believe that there are so many benefits that should im going to earn when i was trying to invest in bitcoin. In addition, investing in bitcoin is better than to invest in others,  because on it, we are also easy to earn money,  simply just we need to hold our bitcoin and wait the time that the price will get high and after that we sell our bitcoin, so we are surely earn a lots of profit, from the bitcoin that we hold for a long time. So now, don't waste the opportunity try to invest in bitcoin at early, and soon we are become successful,  just to invest in bitcoin with no any doubts in your selves.

And since that is a good amount of money on an investment, surely, the profit will be assured high knowing that the price of Bitcoin in the market is getting more expensive everyday.

Yes there is no doubt that we need to invest in bitcoin as much as we can because bitcoin is very safe and sound to invest I’m also investing here from a long time and I’m taking a very good profit from it I always get all my profit on time and in this time duration I did not see any difficulties and problems so I will advise to every one invest here.

Nowadays, bitcoin mining is not profitable. To take a benefit from bitcoin mining you should have $25000. So, better to buy btc and:
>hold
>hold and reinvest. There are some good projects where you can do that. If you are interested, I can suggest some.
>trade if you can. Buy low (bearish days), sell high (bullish days).

Or buy eth, dash, ltc or other alts.

He has to check about the mining details in the mining section and altcoin mining section. There he will be able to get the clear information about the mining hardware and software. I too support this and say that this mining platform is the right decision with the amount mentioned in op post.
There are many mining machines are available in the market but all are will not give the same amount of profit you can make it.

If you have that much money, then you can easily go to the mining section. You just have to buy a mining Rig and you will get a solid learning from that by just keeping it on to your computer. If you wish, you can also hold some Bitcoin because because its price always increases with the passing time. It includes a little amount of risk because in the market the price can go down to.

I got that same question today, why would you want to invest in mining hardware? Who told you this, or where did you come across this? I am so confused by the amount of people that think it's profitable to get into mining. Okay yes it was in 2009-2011 when one could mine via their laptop CPU but now there are huge mining farms all over the world so there is no point.

I agree. Before going into any investment, you should weight things first to avoid regret in the end.The best way to invest into nowadays is in bitcoin because for sure you will really have a high profit even after few months. You may also invest into other altcoins but make sure to study them first because altcoins are not really that strong and trusted like bitcoins wherein millions of people have invested already.

Having those mining hardware is considered also as an investment in bitcoin but only in the other form. Still we gain profit from here mining but it take months to have it. As  considering that, to repay all expenses first and the next is totally your profit. But if you want to have profit immediately, then just invested directly to bitcoin.
This is the insight that might guide you, the final decision is coming from yours. If you are happy of doing this, then a big possibilities thatbuou will succeed.

I wouldn't recommend you to invest in bitcoins , the value is kind of high to invest in now .
Instead you can invest in some other cryptos like ETH , LTC and ripple , these altcoins in my view seems to have good potential to come up their value is also constantly gaining over these past years .
Investing your full money in bitcoins won't be a smart move , you may end up in lose , but if you distribute your money in different assets with good potential one or the other would surely become profitable to you.

I recommend you to go with investing in bitcoin.
Reason behind bitcoin is very popular with a huge demand and prove may fall at times however there is no chance that bitcoin will destroy completely.
If you prefer mining then you need to use about 185kw per transaction.
If you are starting to input in mining work and rigs with one rig you can't make a big deal it is like you investing $5 to make $3.
You need to setup many things like you need a cheap electricity, you can build your plans like ulternate solar/wind even.

As for me, it is necessary to invest in the cryptocurrency, not only in bitcoin, but also in altcoyins. By collecting a large portfolio, you can start trading and investing in promising projects. Thus, you can earn much more than mining.

Go for eutherium as of today ETH is booming because of its increased transactions per day and also due to decreased transaction time.

Lol, At least don’t misguide people. We all know the real power of eth and its tendency to make people rich or pay them off in the form of big profits.

The only reason eth is increasing in value is just because of the fact that bitcoin is increasing in value and eth just like many other altcoins is simply following the footsteps of bitcoin. Probably I will not suggest anyone to go for eth since it is the waste of money simply.

You can invest in some good coins which are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash, Stratis and waves and these coins give you best returns. Never put all eggs in one basket as if we invest in more coins and some coins go up and some go down, our money not go negative but if we put all money in one coin and that dropped, we lost our principal.

I’m interested in investing $2500 should I just put it straight into btc or mining hardware?

Invest into trading bitcoins, it is very easy and good for people who are first timer when it comes to cryptocurrency and trading. The best strategy for it is to buy and hold which makes it easy for everyone you just need to be patient. Mining hardwares can be tricky and you have to know every aspect that you are doing in mining bitcoins and there is a lot of things to consider which makes it hard for me.

No matter how small your money is but the best investment would be Bitcoin because the price is increasing continually everyday and every week.

If you do the math, investing $2,500 Bitcoin and other is Ethereum, it should be Bitcoin will give you clear return of investment after a half a year or will be doubled before a year.
Today, Bitcoin is worth buying and investing due to rocket price ince9in a small period of time.

I think  Mining right now is pretty hard and the mining rigs/hardware are so expensive
I prefer you should buy on Altcoins like Litecoin, NEO, IOTA and ETH.
A long term investment in altcoin will prove profitable

I think you should invest in Bitcoin. But today the price is not static so you can divide your capital and invest only a little sum of money in order to know how it works.

Mining hardware is a bad choice unless you live in a country with cheap internet and electricity, and even, it only makes sense of larger scales. $2500, will not likely be enough to establish a mining operation that can reasonably be expected to turn a profit in a short period of time. Go with bitcoin.

You should invest about half in Bitcoin and distribute the others into a basket of altcoins and tokens. The bitcoin is to hold, and the altcoins will help you trade and get a feel for the cryptocurrecy market, before you make any other investments. A large percentage of your basket should be made of litecoin and ETH, I see their value skyrocketing once the DApp ecosystems begin to come online. Finally, you could also consider buying into a few DApps like nucleus.vision and their nCash tokens, or universa.io (I'm betting on these).
