I'm the first (and only atm) to submit my address. Do I get an extra prize?

1000 satoshis? That's below the min output limit. Your TX will never confirm.

Try seeing how CoinChat does it (plus, people frequently get a whole mBTC for a line of message).

The transactions will be sent out in 1 bulk pay to 100 recipients at a time, not individuals.

A good feature would be to save up the payments. 10 would be good.

If you send ~5430 satoshis or less to anyone, EVEN if you are sending to 100 or 1000 addresses, the transaction will be "non standard" and the default client will block it.

This.

What you will need to do is create an account-type system to handle them. Then either do auto payouts once you hit a certain threshold or allow users to manually move their balance from delayed to pending.

Bulk pay does not work like that, it just bunches up several outputs into one transaction. If any output is 5430 satoshis or lower, the whole transaction will be marked as non-standard and may never confirm.

Added my address to test out the faucet. Seems to have gone through smoothly by adding me to the list, unless I've missed something?

I'll take a look at the source again but I'm pretty sure everything mentioned here is covered already.

I've been thinking about coinbox though.

the input is appreciated.

If you can get into coinbox that'd be awesome. It matches up your payments to that of other faucets as well, cutting down your cost and raising the payouts people receive on a per-payment basis.

Agreed. Coinbox would be awesome. Since I use the same adress for all faucets anyways coinbox is a nice way to track payouts and get the gifts in less transactions.

Also, to add, OP... if you get everything squared away I may add it to the BTC Faucet Rotator (http://coinfaucets.tk). I'll keep up with your progress, :).

That would be great.  I am currently donating out of pocket. eventually I hope to edge out ad revenue to fund the faucet rather than bleeding myself dry very slowly lol.

Sent the good folks over at the box an email already

payouts at 100 yes or possibly 99 theres an offset issue in this source i might try to remedy, more concerned about payouts actually working for now.

grats on the two prize wins so far! I hope with more funds to work with i'll be able to have multiple prize amounts and possibly a large jackpot ( 0.1 - 1 btc?) don't know yet.

I'll bump the thread to try and get you to 100 (or 99!) in the hope that I can get a payout. 2 prize wins and I think another 5 requests should mean I'm on for 0.00011 btc :)

HAHA yea, its very basic. Like i said it's about the mechanics for now. I'm working on the aesthetics on the side while i test. I literally just removed/reformatted bits of the original code so far.

Getting close to the payout number. Backing up wallet database before deletion, if it doesn't work right off the bat i'll throw a raffle each use of the faucet gives you an extra chance, multiple winners. Hopefully it works anyway and its not a problem :P

Any word from coinbox? As I am developing my own faucet, I have run into the 5430 satoshi rule. Does anyone have an idea how to get through that kind of stuff with outputs smaller then the limit?

That's only going to be an issue if all the miners switch over to 0.8.2. There are still plenty that haven't, so they will happily relay smaller amounts.

Well that's a relief though I think there might be script related issues with the rule

okay i have the database backed up, for some reason the cron job did not go through. working on a solution to the problem.

Title: Re: [ANN] New BTC faucet in testing. Come try it out.
Post by: godkas on June 24, 2013, 04:06:52 AM
corrected the problem, faucet was waiting for 1000 payout requests instead of 100 (which passes the satoshi wall) cron job completed and payments to the first 100 should be in progress.

So it didn't work? You do know you can look up the error log for details. Also I think there is a limit on how much <5430 satoshi outputs can be in a transaction. I think it's 10.

The clients may not relay the transaction. However, there are some nodes that will relay indiscriminately and some mining pools that will put your transaction in a block for a fee.

I've contacted them before but it seems that they do not support "custom faucets". The faucets that are using coinbox probably are using the same faucet software.
