Title: New Bitcointalk Dark Theme!
Post by: The_Catman on June 16, 2013, 08:37:17 AM
I made a dark theme for the forums, you can get it here: http://userstyles.org/styles/89138/bitcointalk-dark?r=1371371413

Might do some tweaks to it later, let me know if you have any issues/suggestions.

I guess it could be a security risk. I'm I wrong?

Here you go (https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-3XHeXpEWIgw/Ub17c6urraI/AAAAAAABU94/oDNMMPpJMc8/s0/2013-06-16_04-46-33.png), I'll be fixing the white box where the adds go in a sec, didn't notice it earlier.

there already is a dark theme.

Where exactly?

I usually don't like other dark themes anyway as they tend to go all red and glossy and "cool". I just want something to give my eyes a bit of a break.

I guess it could be a security risk. I'm I wrong?

Not exactly much I can do to your system through CSS...

You can view the source, it's nothing but colour and image changes.

Damn, I can't actually target the adbox without targeting the entire threads borders =\

Looks like the white's staying there.

the other dark theme, the one i use currently, can be selected in your options under profile.

Y'know, I've been looking for a built-in dark theme since i joined and somehow didn't see that 'till just now. I'm fucking blind.

However, escrow.ms is right, that one's terrible. Aside from the lack of red it exemplifies just about everything else I hate in a dark theme.

It doesn't work correctly. A user style is better.

Screenshot? Maybe I can help.

Nothing anyone can do about it unfortunately, at least not with client-side CSS. The only unique identifier for the adbox specifically is dynamically generated with PHP. So the identifier is different every time you load a page.

I noticed that when I wrote that obfuscation code. ;) There may be a more general CSS selector that you can use.

How does it not work correctly?   It is the only way I can see when people edit their posts, or is this an "error"?

The Ignore and Trust features aren't (fully) implemented on BlackBox. You can see when people edit their posts on the default theme. The time under their post will have a dotted underline, and hovering your mouse over it gives you the edit time.
