I decided to invest around 2400$ for a long term investment in BTC but the price is currently high. Should I buy now or I wait for the fork when price probably go down ? (I will invest in etoro so no exta coins will be obtained after the fork)

we still have a lot of time before the fork,
which mean we still have a chance to see another run in the next few days later on.
but everything can be happen with it in the next day like before,
for me right now is not the best time other than before but if i want to hold it for a long time.
it does not matter for me,because if i buy it right now and the price go up in the next few days,i get the profit right ? and i do not need to FOMO.
unlike buying it until the fork,who knows what will happen with it ?
many people predicted it would went down after Bitcoin Gold release,but what happened ? it went to the sky directly.
nothing to lose if we buy it right now,because you will hold it for a long time right ?

If you're going in with a formidable sized investment, buying up right now would be a great idea as you will get equivalent coins for holding onto it during the fork which is literally free money. Having seen two hard forks before, Bitcoin is looking like it will shoot up as usual which is double the good news for you.

If you will not receive the potential free coins from the fork then definitely I would advise to wait until after the fork, there is a high probability the price will fall before that date. Perhaps you could invest before and sell again before the fork and rebuy after but that opens you up to potential volatility.

Why should you be confused, I think you can invest half your money before hardfork and again after hardfork, just to anticipate if after hardfork the btc price goes down and you can buy far in price before hardfork

1. I think this is the second or third time you've asked about investing. Each time, you've got the majority telling you yes. And I'm inclined to agree. It is always yes, even though I believe the price is due for a long correction that will take months to recover. Because Bitcoin is a long play. I am happier to get Bitcoin at every dip (I earn and try to get paid in dips) but I never refuse it. Any time before 2020 and beyond is a good time.

2. I've also noticed you posting for airdrops, and asking for jobs in web design. You look quite earnest. I strongly encourage you to start attempting freelancing in your field (web design) and work for Bitcoins. Then you never have to worry at what price you're buying them. Don't waste time with those airdrops, just work to improve your skills and market them here (properly).

Few many days remaing before bt fork.so i think you should buy bitcoin now and then sell agin after fork.wait for price go to deep.then buy btc for long term.

i gave the exact same advice back when price was about $2000 and then $3000 to people asking the same question as you and i am going to repeat it for you here:

you can buy in steps. you don't have to invest all the money you have now. for example you speculate that there is a chance that price can be $8000 in a month from now and also there is a chance that price can be $6000 (arbitrary numbers) so you buy something now and if price went lower you buy more if not you at least have not missed the boat and have some bitcoin already and then buy some more at higher price.
the first step is hard though, the step of speculating about price and coming up with those numbers.

If you want expensive BTC which will fall down 30-40% after the fork + a new forked coin, you should buy now (not advised).

The fork will make cryptocurrency becomes better, so if it becomes better, the price will going up. So why not we buy it before the fork ? It will make a huge profit for us in just a short-time than just keep earning only in day-trading or week-trading stragedy.

I dont think so. Prices will head down to support levels which it tested before uptrend. This is perfect time to check buy orders under support lines before making another big uptrend. Best option is to collect cheap alts.

Its up to you in where you are profitable but make sure you have make a decision that is good and you will never regret for so when you have the speculation that if after the hardfork will be the best time to buy or after it and you have made some research your question will be answered by yours only.

for long term, you can buy now and forget about it for a few years. for short term, depends on two strategies - buy to get free b2x or wait when btc price corrects after the fork.

I think you should spend your money to buy Bitcoin right now to claim as much as Bitcoin2x you can from the hardfork. If you wait until the hardfork over you will get nothing and maybe you will have to pay more for the same amount of Bitcoin before the hardfork cause I think that Bitcoin price will increase very quickly right after the hardfork get over :)). It happened at the hardfork on 1st August so I think it'll be the same at this time. But it's just my own opinion so if you want to buy right now or not you should have your own decision :)

Price might go up or down, it`s difficult to predict future, but one thing I can tell you - If I buy BTC now, i would never buy on Etoro...  why would anyone would like to loose forked coins?

some people say btc price will go down by 20-25%, some say will go up. I think price of BTC might go up till 9 - 10k usd till hard fork and even IF it drops 20% it will be around 7k usd still +/-, so as it is today.  

But we will see.

This is a very tough question because of the unprecedented questions surrounding this fork.
My recommendation is to wait until after the fork and buy the coin which prevails as "Bitcoin." It is very possible that Bitcoin(s) will dive either right before or right after the fork and until one is declared the official "Bitcoin."

Since you want to go for the long term, and you have only those funds to invest I think the best option is to wait after the fork. Although the price might still probably increase a little more, since the fork is only around the 15th November, it could also just remain stable for a while, since it already had a large run, because of the recent financial news. There will most likely be some kind of correction of the price, after the fork, so that should be the best option to get more BTC from your current bankroll.

After that, I would jut keep holding no matter what, because a lot of money should go into BTC in 2018.

I like this kind of strategy as I'm looking for a good piece of advice also. I wanted to invest some of my money in bitcoin right now and I need lots of opinions on how to tackle this. Though I'm looking for a short-term investment here but maybe I will allot some part for long-term investment in bitcoin also.

While creating this thread and now the bitcoin have moved more 400+ price jump so if you want to take benefit of fork then you can go with buying now , if not then just wait for the correct time when their will be some correction so that you can buy at that time.

My plan for the bitcoin hardfork its wait the new altcoin and see the status of the networks, if the miner rate of the B2X is bigger than the BTC, i will wait for more time to see what will happen, but if the BTC's power rate continues the same, so its only buy and hold and sell my free B2X of my old wallet.

Invest now before the fork happens so you'll get two coins after the hard fork. And you are into long term investment in bitcoin so it doesn't matter if the price today for you is quite expensive. Soon the price will even become more expensive so while there is time before the fork, buy.

It's better to invest before the fork happend, because you can probably take the the same ammount of tokens for free, but you need to have your funds at the right exchange which accept the fork and token

Price is way too up high as of now which it is not really safe to put up money specially if you do long for short time profits but since you are talking for long term process then anytime its ideal to buy bitcoin because price would really go up no matter what on future years to come this is why any price would be consider a sweet spot but yet since you are just putting up some fraction of money then if you can handle to make short span trading then it will give you the chance to make money without the need on waiting for too long just wait after the fork which the price would definitely corrected.

My approach is same like yours. Right time means to wait for pullback and catch it. I never try to grap small points when i trade on markets. Catching the bottom is like trying to catch falling knife. Better to divide and buy in small parts in order to make average entry to position.

I also did so, the investment will gradually enter the market. Weekly and monthly movements can be viewed, each time you enter the market and gather a few. Safety and more you can get the best price, get as many BTC as possible.

I think the best time is now, bitcoin price after the fork will slightly go down but will recover and back to increase in just for a day. If you invest now, you have a plus free coin then that is the advantage and if you have decided to hold you can have the profit even for a month as the prices will not stop increasing up to next year and so on. Don’t hesitate or you will regret it.

There will be no fork happening in future and all this is a useless hope so invests now because who knows what will price at the next morning and more of it btc has ability to rise its price daily up to 400 dollars so there is possibility that you will regret and the price will go beyond your capital limit so rush in people are investing you must also get into the lane otherwise it will be too late to buy and huge revenue will be required.

Yes, I am with the similar opinion that Bitcoin price will fall down after the fork. We might see a correction of 20% to 30% within the period of next couple of months. I would keep my capital aside to make purchases during the dips and en-cash the opportunities. If you are having no interests in claiming the new forked coin then I don't see any advantage of purchasing at this price level. However, I am sure that Bitcoin will perform very well in the long run and we might even touch $10K in next year so anywhere below $10K in cheap in my opinion. Please do your own research before making any investment decision.

Bitcoin is going good and inspiring peoples in hardfork days or any kind of improvement in bitcoin because if bitcoin technology improves then it is good news and positive effect on bitcoin price and in result bitcoin price make at high because peoples start buying bitcoin and bitcoin price will up. I think, you've been a little bit late, but not too late. If you are planning to invest in bitcoin, do it now Don't wait for the forking to end before investing. As per record, bitcoin price usually rises up before a forking happens (just like what happened during the bitcoin gold and bitcoin cash creation). You should invest now in bitcoin and watch the bitcoin price to continuously rise in the coming weeks.

Bitcoin price usually drops AFTER the forking because that's the time that most investors are withdrawing their investments from bitcoins and shifts to altcoins. This results to rise of altcoin prices. I think if you intend to invest in the long term, there is no harm if this time decided to buy it. Because I personally also still very firmly believe bitcoin prices will still continue to move higher in the long run. One factor to think about as well is that if you are interested in having coins on the chain created by the fork without having to buy them once they are up for trading, buying bitcoin before the fork is a good idea so you will get an equal amount of coins on the new chain.

Price wise it does seem like we are on a slight downward trend so maybe leaving it another week or so might get you a lower entry point but then it could also be higher, it's one of those things that could go either way.

Hardfork is canceled, now or anytime you can buy Bitcoin because Bitcoin is the best for long term invest and the price will continue increase.

Now just announcement came that this hardfork is cancelled now any one can buy without any problem and right now buying this good opportunity because this is going to rise in future as mostly peoples saying time to new highs for this bitcoin if you want to take some good profit then buy and enjoy this

Yeah that's right usually that things happen, but if your goal is really for long term then don't wait for the fork because bitcoin will surely worth buying for. Always look for the long term because the price of bitcoin now are still cheap for me, so do grab more.

Its a nice idea if you have decided to invest in bitcoin but I would suggest not to invest your full amount but to invest in parts after speculating price changes. For example near fork you can invest amount and after the fork you will get the same amount of additional coins and on the other hand if price goes down buy more and if not atleast you have some of them.Don't invest full amount in one go because fluctuations are very high so invest wisely

Segwit2x was cancelled, better invest now while bitcoin price is currently down now. We never know until when btc price will down better invest while you can.

You should always buy BTC now and never wait because the price is unpredictable in the short term, but in the long term it is extremely predictable, it always goes up. And it will continue to do that until it becomes the world's reserve currency and it has to account for all the debt that exists today. It is in the trillions the amount of debt that is for sure.

Exactly! There is no one who can predict this thing that what is going to happen. You never know whether any kind of fork will happen or not. In fact, there is a possibility that the market price of bitcoin will be increased in the future. So, waiting for some kind of fork and not buying the bitcoins at the very present moment may result in something unwanted. So you need to think wisely before making any decision.

As people have mentioned there's been numerous shake ups with BTC so I reckon it'll fall a fair bit more yet as the spike was so rapid. Perhaps invest then.

I hope OP managed to bought bitcoin when it dips around $5,500 the other day that was a very big chance for everybody. It went down of only a couple of minutes and then went back again.

I have very same opinion regarding bitcoin prices. It is going to decrease further for at least a week and I am pretty sure that by the end of this year, bitcoin will be at 7000 dollars which is not a price to buy bitcoin at rather that would be a time to enjoy profit. If you want to purchase bitcoin, buy it in 5 to 10 days and don’t sell them off till eth end of the year. Bitcoin is definitely going to return with huge profits.

I think you should wait. It is likely that the price will come down in two weeks time, then you can buy.

By now I mean that when there is a dip I'm the prices and not when they are at the peak.

I think its to much risky for you, you can't just drop all your money into one thing.You should start from less take experience how you fell after that increase your amount. Because investing needs knowledge and experience when maybe you don't have and you're going to invest first time

Yes keeping in mind the concept of buying low and sealing high will be appreciated in all concerns if you wait for a time when bitcoin prices are low. For now, buying price is a little high and many of us can’t afford it. Like you have said, dip is just coming ahead and this will world better only for all those who want to buy bitcoin. Be vigilant for the prices when they are down.

Absolutely right buying now is the best time because prices are bit low and this attract more user and I am sure this time pump will take prices to above 8k and waiting for fork is stupidity because bitcoin is unpredictable and we don’t know when user demand gets high so avail these small chance to grab btc otherwise regret will be in your fate and a lot more money will be required to buy btc in future surely.

First, if you have only that amount for your trading, i would suggest to split it into some different amount and put the capital into some different altcoin. It is more safe.
About the price, i think i will wait the price rebound to its lowest low first then start buying

I Think no need to wait for buy bitcoin because bitcoin will be more valueable in a short time not need to wait for fork . I guess you have a good suggestion, but since no fork for now it's better if we observed first the fluctuation of bitcoin in the market before we proceed to the conclusion, because if we buy bitcoin before or after segwit2x immediately we can't says if the bitcoin value are increasing or decreasing of price. That's the risk that we need to considered before decided to buy bitcoin.

Actually, I can't know if there's hard fork happen again, because this twice segwit hardfork will happen, whose the next coin who separate to bitcoin? But I guess we just need to be ready whatever happen, to assure our continuously income from bitcoin.

Buying Bitcoin before the fork is better. Because it always grows up the price after the fork so you could make a quick profit.

The higher price increment trend actually happens after hardfork, so it's wrong if you wait after the process occurs, this situation is very different from the condition when BCH appears, now traders are more daring to assume bitcoin purchases quickly regardless of any potential coin prices born after hardfork .

If you want buy bitcoin then don't think that fork will happen or not because it is profitable from both the sides .
At one side if you will bought the bitcoin then you can use that amount of the bitcoin for the trading and also for the long term investment .
At another side  if you have bitcoin then surely after the fork you will get your bitcoin fork another new coin ( I don't think new fork will come now from today because already fork happened , recently bitcoin diamond but not get any official announcement about such last fork ) , so overall you will remain in profit only .
So don't get late and don't think much about such things to have or buy bitcoin to start work in the bitcoin.

Even if fork happens the split is getting more popularity and good value. Look at the bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold which were the forks of the main chain. In this month both the forked assets have grown much bigger in value and has been getting more market circulation as people have started to move into it for trading needs.

The next fork is supposed to happen on Dec ? Since the last nov one went cancelled.
I havent made much money in regards to October fork... I suggest you to buy w8 for the fork and dump the mirror (Alt created by the fork) for BTC.

I might have to quote your word on this and probably send you a PM related to that effect when bitcoin price soar more than you expect. If you have been monitoring the trend, then you should have known already that there is absolutely no way bitcoin is going to stay on $9000 by the end of this year. We still have one more resistance to break now at $9500 and after that, I am not sure the next support may be lower than $6800. We still have a lot of days before this year ends bro, so you may have to reconsider your prediction.
