Zencash! So far this coin has made me alot of money. And im 100% it will continue to rise. Do some research on it.

I like Feathercoin, Unobtanium, Peercoin from the old days, and from the new crop I like Rain, Byteball, Bitcore and Komodo.

Byteball and Komodo are slowly adding some very nice features.  

I have always seen the ethereum as a long term investment. It is easy to use and its price more stable than the other altcoins.

Nexus will always have a special place in my heart. Setting up an actual infrastructure using cubesats and mining for prime numbers is pretty damn cool.

syscoin got me into crypto although I think bitbay may give them a run for their money
I think Sia or one of its competitors will be huge
Xby may be a hidden gem or stinking turd time will tell

all altcoins now in very low levels and daily create here low rates. i hold siacoin and ftc. siacoin now in very lower. but i trust in siacoin and buy for long time my opinion siacoin and ftc rise anytime. siacoin my favorite because this give min 1000% profit in future. if we have passion and hold it for long time . ftc coin have daily good movement and this is also have good future.

Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Ethereum, Ripple, Waves and LiteCoin. They are top Altcoins  today and very promising. although they're ar have a good price but then they're gonna increase after due time.

The big boys that I am long on: eth, ltc, monero, and neo

Smaller guys: Vtc and zencash

Vtc and zencash have gotten me some pretty nice gains recently. I expect more to come when the secure nodes for zencash are released.

IOTA will of course become even more huge after 2-3 years. Vertcoin on the other hand is supported by a very big community that will always promote the welfare of the coin as well as that of the project. It will do good to any coin if there is a community that sticks together to help spread the coin. In addition to the two coins, long term investment should also include Ethereum, Monero, ZCash, Waves, and BAT.

neo is rubbish, look at the price now down drastically.

Sonm and stratis would be one of them, your picks are already very high but these coins especially sonm will be huge in the future, to me stratis will also hit $75 and more.

At the moment I am looking at investing into Propthereum.io, an asset backed cryptocurrency on the blockchain. All proceeds raised will be used to purchase A-grade property worldwide. This will generate a rental income and underlying value for the PTC token holder. This means the coin will always increase in value. I truly believe this concept and believe it will give a great return on investment long term.

This is the best moment to buy altcoin their value are now decreasing, and i choose to buy ethereum, BCH and LTC and i will hold them for 5 years and above until i do not need money i am believed that their value will increase in the future and bring more profit by just holding it for long period of time. But i am planning to buy sum altcoin for short term only i only just searching which coin is the best to buy right now.

I try to have not many alts on short time, 10% profit and out to keep grow my bitcoins up. To long term I select more alts based on social media and signal group signals. Its not a huge profit sometime, by always upline ;)

same here for ETH. my one and only favorite alt coin for long term investment. everyday we see that new ICO is happening on Ethereum technology. if we can go bit higher that 300usd resistance, we will sky rocket.

Not sure about Walton or Vertcoin but i think that IOTA has potential to hit great heights. I'm having my eyes set on a $5 target by the end of next year, just because of the sheer amount of potential i can see from the coin.

There's also Byteball which i think is extremely overlooked by most people.

ZCash has some potential as well as soon as this price drop stops.

ETH I think quite interesting can be stored for long term, considering the price is almost up high even nowadays only little by little. but if in a long period of time it is not impossible that the ETH will be high the price can even exceed the price of the bitcoin at this time. ETH itself I think has a good future and is a strong crypto currency last long.

i suggest to take in consideration binance coin, it has a strong potential

I am holding waves and Coss tokens because i believe waves will be the next ethereum even its giving more functionality than ethereum and also easy to create tokens. COSS is the best token swap platform which is doing good hope in near future it will get more traders.

I stick with doge, dgb, ether for a year, and qtum, taas, wetrust, edg are seeded next year.

Stellar, SALT, XMR, DASH are my favorite coins for long-term. Besides, I also spend 20% my budget for Bitclave. This is a new token from Bitclave project. You can access its website to get information.

my fav altcoin for 2 or 3 years is bitcoin, etherum, and dashcoin because they are very potential and give me some profit, but in my portopolio i've many altcoin like waves, ARK, Pillar and hope they are good also next year  ;D

I heard also about ioata is good. So thats good choice to invest.

That’s a great coin though, personally I’m holding NEM, SC, ETH for quiet months now and will hold this for good. I believe that not only bitcoin will succeed in the future but also good altcoins because cryptocurrency is really our future, so hold more coins as you could.

At the moment, Buying Altcoin will be the best. Because maximum Altcoin's prices are down. I bought ethereum and LTC. I hope that if we keep these coins in the next 3 years, we can make many profits. If we think in a long term, it can be possible to improve lives. So I want to tell everyone to save the coins as much as you can. Especially now is the time to invest.

The bolded got me cracked up but there is nothing wrong because of where our loyalty and attention lies depends on which coin is main which one is an Alt. In my own case, I wouldn't hold for too long term and I would limit it to the top ones that have been mentioned already compared to those that are receiving the hype that in the next six months they might be delisted in major exchanges.

For long term hold the best alts are Ethereum, Neo, Monero, OMG, TenX. You should always know when to sell your bags and not always sit and wait for your investment going to the moon coz you never know when the price will come crashing down.

they can sustain in 100$ marketcap since ICO and thats 10x+ based on ICO here.

i still hold ethereum, monero, litecoin for the old coins and for the new comer, i still hold waves, kmd, neo, bat, rise. i think this coins will be good for a long term hold altcoins. and today, there is many good altcoin for a long term so i think we need to research more to find out what is the good coins to hold.

My longterm hold is the good ol' simple bitcoin and litecoin lol.

Waves is one coin I will never stop holding. It has huge prospects and only huge patience is required for coins like these to make it big eventually. I am so optimistic that this coin would really have a huge spike in few months’ time with the ongoing development with it.

Other than waves, in my old ledger, I am still holding litecoins and dogecoins as I still believe into them. They may surprice at any time. But I am not recommending anyone to go for them here, act at your own risk.

Monero, litecoins and Ripple is my long term altcoins investment.

I believe more waves that you have possible your become rich because as of now the price is cheap and for sure the price become hundreds dollars .

My favourite altcoin is Ethereum, I tried to hold it for long term period, because it is expected that its price will keep increasing highly in the near future, since its needed a lot more than before as the ICO investors trade the tokens mostly with this coin (for paying the gas fees at least).

For me i prefer ETH to hold for a long time, unlike other alt coins that are constantly coming up and trying to be like bitcoin, etherum brings new ideas to the cryptocurrency scean, it let poeple create their own currencies and for that i think etherum has a bright future, it might not reach crazy prices like bitcoin, but it would defentily become more and more popular and the more and more vaibale it will become and for that reson i think it is worth saving and worth investing in.

Favourite long term coins would be Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple. They give good profit and are less volatile than other coins!

So far for long term investments I fell that Ethereum is better. Ethereum is growing good and it is said that it would grow even more in the coming years. It is speculated that Ethereum can grow like bitcoin has grown in the coming years. Maybe XMR can be another good choice to invest for long term too. I don't think litecoin would prove good for long term investments, that's my opinion.

I guess Ethereum is the best option for long term hold as of now.It is said that Ethereum has the potential to reach the value of bitcoins.Its smart contract feature is something really good which is it's highlight feature.So if you are thinking of investing in some altcoins go for Ethereum.

According to me ETH and XMR has shown lot of promise in last few days and can be good for future as well.Other than that DASH,IOTA and ZEC as well is a good option depending on the amount to be invested.

Ofcourse altcoins in the top 10 they are all my favorite coins to handle and technically speaking right now dumps are bleeding. My friend said patience is a virtue so just wait for another year for this.

Coins that generate a return are a good bet. Unlike a normal share in a company it's very hard to value a cryptocurrency. At least coins generating a return can be valued. Hence Neo is one of my favourites, it generates Gas which when sold is equivalent to about a 5% return per annum, plus the change in value of Neo.

Ethereum - widely used and stable.  I believe it would be as big as bitcoin in the near future.  I'm gonna hold them them until then.  Thanks

Just stick with BTC if you're relatively new, and buy a little bit each time you get paid... preferably when BTC/USD dips. It's really tempting to get involved in ALTs early on. But if you go in big on something that fails, you'll be kicking yourself. The biggest gains come from the biggest risks... don't bet your stack on them.
Here's my advice. When your BTC has appreciated enough against USD for you to invest a little BTC into something else without your initial USD investment dropping below the amount you have put in, consider investing in some of the well established ALTs that still trade against the USD/USDT. Buy into those currencies when they are dipping against BTC. When they go up a bit (20-50% or so, depending on the run), convert them back into BTC. Repeat with other established currencies.
This has been my tact. Today, I own 15 different currencies, but 85% of my crypto investment is still held in a currency that trades directly with USD/USDT. (I'm about 50% BTC, 25% ETH, 10% XMR.) When the market pulls back hard, I want to be able to easily switch my funds into USD/USDT and buy back in when the dust settles. Crashes are common here.
When your well established ALTs start making you enough BTC for you to feel good about risking a bit more, only then should you think about investing in some of the small market cap, high risk currencies.
I'm not an expert and I've only been at this for a couple of months myself, but using the method I've outlined here, I've seen growth of 268% over my fiat investment. Conversely, if I had simply made my initial purchases and held, I'd be looking at roughly 30% growth. I'm sure other people in here can report 5,000% gains over the last two months, but I have to imagine that their strategies take considerably more skill, time, and luck.

As you said ethereum is the best altcoin for long term investment because the price of the etherum is stable when the other coins are down falling recently the etherum is making good price growth I hope this will continue for long time.So i suggest Ethereum will be the best of altcoins especially in long term investment.
