Title: I'm a newbie with Zero Bitcoins and i have a rather Noobish Question
Post by: DogtownHero on June 17, 2013, 06:13:56 AM
Hello everyone,

As the title of the thread might suggest I need some bitcoins? can i bum some off of you? I know I know, not another begger i've seen plenty of people begging all over the board. but still here is my address.

Now that i got my begging taken care of (hehe), I have a serious question.

Why doesn't Satoshi ever post? Where Is he? Is he still active in the community, perhaps under an alternate name? Is Satoshi his real name?

Thanks in advance, i've been wondering about this for a while now.

You realize that this is just like asking people for cash. "Hi, I don't have any cash... can you please give me yours?"

Just buy some bitcoin if you want it.

Or did I just feed a troll?

Who/what Satoshi is is like the great mystery of bitcoin, I doubt anyone knows.  All I can say is he has been gone for some time...

That's part of the mystery to be dead honest, there isn't a clear cut answer.  As far as I know, he just got less and less involved, and then vanished entirely.

If you pay someone some paypal, skrill, any kind of money you will get bitcoins. You cant possibly come here expecting people to give you money for nothing.

And for the record i would buy some but i'm in the us and there is currently no way to do so or atleast that is my understanding. i do have one question though. what exactly is skrill?

I'm not a troll I just told you if you want to get bitcoins put some money in. Skrill is like paypal with a very small chance of a chargeback because they dont get involved with disputes. You can get bitcoins in the exchange section.

Yes they can.  You can search the forums for many scammer stories regarding e-bay and bitcoins(litecoins) etc.  The most common scam being paypal chargebacks or disputing the charge on thier CC after you transfer the coins to them.

You can get free BTC off the BTC Faucet Rotator (http://coinfaucets.tk), without even having to beg, :p.

They can't scam you as long as you verify the coins were confirmed. Once coins are sent, there is no going back unless whoever received them decided to send them back.

I meant would they be able to take your money on ebay and never send you the coins?

That's a hard one. PayPal states that people buying and selling BTC is against their TOS, so I'm not sure who they would side with in that case.
