Title: Bitkey OS - Add applications Post by: zappa916 on November 05, 2017, 11:12:44 PM What's the recommended way to add applications to this distribution like Exodus while maintaining the integrity and not having to install the app every time you boot up ?

I wouldn't even suggest using it as it may be open source but not enough people tested it to know for sure that it's safe. The reason why you find your exodus wallet deleted is because you're running a LiveCD/USB. If you install it with your current OS as dual boot for example, you should be fine but again, I don't recommend using Bitkey, go with Tails If you still want something safer then Windows.

As far as I can tell, the only way to add applications is to download the bitkey source code, add them in yourself... and then compile it allhttps://github.com/bitkey/bitkey You can see how "Electrum" is installed here: https://github.com/bitkey/bitkey/blob/master/conf.d/electrum Basically, you'd just need to figure out how to add in the application installer, any required/missing dependencies, calculate all the appropriate checksums etc and then build the image. Not sure that this will qualify as "maintaining the integrity" tho :-\ |
