In 2016 January  BTC price was around $450 — $750.Then in December 2016 it was jump to 800$.In 2016 BTC price increase about 350$.But in this year started with $800 and now it turns into $7000.why this happen?

Because there is a growing demand for it although I wouldn't be surprised if we crash back down to $5000 which may or may not happen.
As more and more people realize what Bitcoin is and why it's so valuable, more and more people are buying it.

But we haven't even started yet, people right now are buying Bitcoin just so they make money. When they actually start using it as a currency the value will go up exponentially higher than it is today.

It's not surprising, I think, mainly because more people are paying attention to bitcoin now, and the number of people who know and invest bitcoin is a lot more than that in the past few years. Maybe 1000 dollars by the end of 2017 ;D

Because the demand are still growing and It will be popular right now, many are buyer and seller and I wont ve shock soon if it will rise its price soon.

more investor have know more about bitcoin so buying it more , and also the ' Rumors ' make it strong .

It should go back down sometime after the fork.

There isn't much going on in the Bitcoin world when you look at transactions and how the backlog is taken care of in a short amount of days. Yes, having 2MB blocks with segwit will certainly eliminate that almost entirely(miners will get less fees and hate that for now). But the demand itself right now is high due to the forks that have been happening.

Fork for bitcoin cash = free money(it was up to like 900 USD at one point)
Fork for bitcoin gold = free money (up to 150 USD?)
Fork for bitcoin segwit2x = free money (looks like it was trading at .1 btc per segwit2x future)

After these forks are all done, then what? No real significant upgrades. The platform is already secure, transactions go through, not much more to be done to bitcoin for the next year or so? Demand should fall, causing price decrease.

Simply because bitcoin become more popular this year specially after the hard experiences that encountered this year like Segwit, China ban and JP Morgan criticism in which these challenges helps bitcoin to become more known in the whole world that instead of to falldown it rise up and makes people trust bitcoin more as promising investment resulting to lot of investments are pouring in.

Many peoples now try to involved in Alt coin platform and if anyone want to join alt coin platform firstly buy Bitcoin after that buy alt coin by BTC.Main reason is BTC user rapidly increasing.

Because bitcoin is getting popular and I think many peoples are paying attention in bitcoin now. And the count of people that invest bitcoin. I think the $ per bitcoin is getting large too at the end of this year.

I would say because of awareness. This is one of the reasons why BTC price is really high and I would expect it until this last month of this year. Because of awareness, demand is really high and many people converting their cash into digital currency.  We may also consider big whales who are playing on BTC and I hope they dump it till next year  :D

In 2016 the community was at war with each other and we had massive spam attacks on the network. The new users were confronted with very long transaction confirmation times and a very hostile environment. Since then SegWit was implemented and things calmed down a lot. The latest price increase are linked to bigger investors from Wall Street that are entering the scene. Institutional investment will drive up the price a lot. < Money from investors in the old FIAT system >  ^smile^

Certainly with people's confidence in bitcoin that causes higher bitcoin values. Many new investors are interested in bitcoin, and I'm sure the future bitcoin value will be higher.

I think bitcoin provides such great benefits in the economic, sector so bitcoin is increasingly in the interest of the community. and increasingly popular this is what keeps the price up.

I guess the price increase of Bitcoin this year is due to the noise it is creating with the mass media and also in the social media as what it has done is it made people aware and also interested that something like this existed on the internet. With Bitcoin exchanges having hundred thousands of new traders everyday and still growing you will know that a lot of people are interested to get their hands on Bitcoin. I just hope that this quick rise will not result into a quick fall, but let us be prepared for what is coming.

I think the reason is the number of the investors are increasing and so the demand for it is also rising,
I think that is the main reason why the price is increasing highly this year.

The price has risen largely because of ZIRP, over-bought stock markets and suppressed metal prices.
There is a lot of free capital lying around that is looking for returns.  They can't really get anything out of any other markets at the moment, so some started punting on Bitcoin.

The price went up due to those punts, then as the price went up, more people started investing. Basically that is where we are now.  The high price doesn't really help Bitcoin's function and Bitcoin doesn't really work as a currency and isn't needed as a store of value, so it is used speculatively.

Simply now the number of Bitcoin users is increasing and this automatically makes the Bitcoin demand in the world increasing. people believe in Bitcoin and now the growth of the sector using Bitcoin is increasing. So this is the main factor that makes Bitcoin price increase, I am very confident and sure that this trend will continue to happen and increase every time. Maybe next year we can see the price of Bitcoin reach 10.000 $, It could all happen because Bitcoin often make the impossible become a reality.

In my opinion many investors open their doors in bitcoin. They invested some of their capital in it especially to those business men. Even small investors are big help to make bitcoin price increases. It is very indemand nowadays since bitcoin started to more popularize itself.

Main reason why bitcoin price are always hitting ATH every time is because more people are now aware about bitcoin and they know its future is bright for an investment. And almost all of the issues that was made against the coin was  neutralized and won by the coin which made investor trust the coin more.

I think that's not the only reason why Bitcoin prices are rising this year, there are probably many people who have already benefited from Bitcoin and are comfortable investing with Bitcoin, perhaps with so much market demand that Bitcoin's prices are getting higher every day.

Because bitcoin is more and more popular, more and more bitcoin users, investors are turning to the cryptocurrency market and hardfork begin. Bitcoin has gathered enough elements this year.

It's because of the awareness that keeps spreading in social media outlets. Thanks to facebook and twitter, people that are not into bitcoins are getting interests when they see how expensive btc in exchange for dollars.

By nature phenomena we carry out the reason of increase and decrease in price of something on the basis of supply and demand of the goods in the market and currently bitcoin supply is very slow while demand is immense high. I don’t think so that increasing in the price of bitcoin is just this year because as per my own opinion every coming year will be most booming year for bitcoin price. I cannot believe that the price will come to $5000 dramatically because no any reason or hard fork is expected in near future.

Because it was being known by many people now and it surprisingly many investors invest now in bitcoin because of the good standard of its price.This was becoming very indemand now and cryptocurrency is most high technology now and many people want it for using it comfortable.So thats why the price of bitcoin is amazingly higher this year.

Many individuala are seeing crypto market as good profit making source within a short period of time and for this they are buying bitcoin as it can be exchanged for any other altcoin.As the number of investors are increasing the demand for it and its total marker cap is boosting to peak level which was not the case in 2016 when price was $800.The other reason behind this successful year is launching of Segwit which reduces the transaction time making improvements and the other fork which make btc more popular. IN the coming time we may see the price to the moon.

A lot thing happened this year and this year is more prosperous than last year, the one that elevate the price is the Japan's adoption and the popularity is increasing very fast maybe it's due to the high rising in the end of December in 2016

It started with bitcoin cash fork. Bitcoiners started hoarding bitcoin to take advantage of bitcoin cash split thus pushing the price up. Then after fork, bch was dumped for bitcoin, again pushing the price up. Outsiders started noticing bitcoin because of the price surge, started buying pushing the price further up.  Then it is just new people with new money coming in. Now we are at 8K.

A lot of things happened this year and it's incredibly happened so fast, including some attacks and a lot of FUD and specially the growing number of community of Bitcoin and also a lot of influencial people are now protecting and promoting Bitcoin. Also a lot businesses are now into BTC , more regulations made Bitcoin go mainstream and a lot of  businesses integrating the Bitcoin Technology: Blockchain, don't forget the forks, And by far, In my opinion the biggest is the CME Bitcoin futures.

Bitcoin price increases maybe because of certain price correction especially that the demand of bitcoin increase rapidly this year. Also this is somehow because of so many alt coins introduce bitcoin needs to maintain it's position in the market and to have that it must have a good value that will encourage many investors to choose bitcoin over other alts.

2017 has been the year for Bitcoin.It has been in news from a while so people are now more awared about it. People have read about it and many of them are impressed from it. Plus this year two fork occurred that helped the price of bitcoin. Their will be another fork i think so many users are now waiting for a new profit.

yes, bitcoin prices continue to increase now even today bitcoin prices are able to reach $ 8000 really significant progress has occurred in bitcoin in 2017, and if noticed by the increase in bitcoin we definitely have a sense of optimism if bitcoin will continue to grow as a digital asset a future that provides many benefits to its users.

It happens for an obvious reason and that is because bitcoinis widely spread its influence and popularity towards every country and places for this year.
