How long have you been holding your bitcoin for so far?

until i reach my goals that i settle, i have a few amount of bitcoin and its worth around $4000+ before i purchase it. so now the price of bitcoin grew and my profits now is about 400%. but i dont want to claim it, honestly i always put additional amount of bitcoin every month, because i want to earn more than i expected. my goals is to reach/hold my bitcoin for more than 2-3 year from now. what ever happens on that time id settle, i will not cut it even it soon to loose.

Since i start earning in the cryptocurrency industry. Actually since i start earning here in the forum i divide my profit into 2 parts, 1 for withdrawal (For personal uses) 2 for (Saving or Holding) Because i believe that bitcoin will keep increasing and increasing. So I made a goal for myself i start earning bitcoin since May in this year and I'm going to withdraw it on May next year.

So to answer your question about how long I've been holding my bitcoin for 6 long months and so far even though sometimes the bitcoin falls it still recovers and hoping to earn profit from it next year.

Based on the oldest coin in my stash (assuming LIFO queue): 7 years

Based in my current position ive been holding my btc for about 5 days now.

If i saw any price slowdown and change of trend ill sell all of my btc and start to buy altcoins  ;)

I have holding my bitcoins for 3 months since I received my first coin. I want to participate of good ICO's and try to make a good profit until I can do trades with bitcoin for living. It's such a good place to make quick profits because of its volatility and you can earn a good income. Actually I make some trades with altcoins but it's kinda frustrating, so I want to start trading only  USD/BTC.

I am not sure but I think it is from the beginning when came across cryptocurrencies. However, since then I do spend my Bitcoins online as I believe that movement is growth and even today I try to spend my 50% of the holdings regularly. However, since there is no offline market accepting Bitcoin in my country the expenditure is low so my holding is more and I am looking for a target of 10 years from now to cash-out Bitcoins.

Wondering how many people are still here if they invested back in 2011-2012? Probably not many, if any.
Honestly if you bought at 1$ I guess you already sold long time ago when the price reached $10 or $20.

Since it was $800. Now my dilemma is when am I gonna take profit out of it, probably at 10kish? but anyway, I don't need to spend on anything yet so let it stay there a little more.

I hold bitcoin for only half a year. Actually, I knew bitcoin in 2013, when it seemed like only 5 dollars. Really missed a big chance. But I'm buying it now, and I think it's the same. I think I have a good mentality for investing

To be honest i didn't receive any bitcoin yet and also didn't buy any amount of btc but if i find or buy some btc i will hold them until bitcoin's price reaches at 15000$

Im not an early adopter which most of them do still hold but in my case i do actively trade my bitcoin which would really involve on buying and selling which turns out that bitcoin wont really last long in my wallet.Once i do make profits on trading them i do actively exchange it to fiat. Rinse and Repeat since i do make money on this way which i do decide to stick with it.

For quite a while, start bitcoin at a price of $ 4000. I will keep bitcoin forever anytime, but I also take a bit for me to redeem into cash for my daily needs

I only hold bitcoin for almost 3 months and sell it after that but I regret when I see how big the change in its value. If I just continue holding that time my bitcoin was now triple to its original value but suddenly I sell it. Now I learned and im continue holding because I know that it will continue to increase. I set a goal so that i will not regret it in the end.

So did you buy some Altcoins instead? ETH and others? How are things fairing with those?
Some made incredibly quick profits with Altcoins but you need luck with this thousand of coins in the crypto market right now.

future looks bright when as far as cryptos are concerned. Current price could be 10% of what it will be in 2025 or so.  :)

 since im join in this digital currency industry.. im trying to hold my bitcoin and waiting for the price to pump up.. and im withdrawing some of my tokens for my needs.. because the value of bitcoin is volatile that's why im predicting that his price become more..

I don't know maybe 5 or 6 months but I just want to hold my bitcoin and wait for target price that I want to sell, not just only bitcoin I'm holding ethereum and litecoin but its only small amount that I hold, hoping the prices will increase.

I've been holding my Bitcoin for 7 months and its value before is only 2800$ and I would still hold it through the segwit2x to have morr opportunity earning huge profit since it is already expect3d that the succession of the fork will result for its value to be more expensive right after the fork. I am planning to sell it by the end of this y3ar to have a taste of my investment.

I don't exactly know how many years I am holding bitcoin because I am not quite long term holder, I am just shifting my portfolio back and forth from bitcoin to altcoins and fiat.

I will try to sell my bitcoins when price is at peak and wait for some correction so that I can buy some cheap bitcoins back.

Til now, I still haven't earn any bitcoin or invested in exchange for bitcoin. But if i have one, i think it still depends. If I invest a certain amount in bitcoin, I want to have a maximum profit from it. I will hold my bitcoin as soon as its price increase or til it reaches my ideal price. And as long as it doesn't reach my expected value, I will continue to keep it.

Maybe i recently held bitcoin because i bought it 2 months ago when bitcoin price was $ 5200, but right now i have no plans to sell it unless i have an urgent need, because the bitcoin i hold is intended to meet my child's school fees.

I started investing in June 2017 and as newbie I was very much impatience and trade here and there to earn big but that segwit drama back then cost me very much and I lost big amount but now I learned lesson and patience with time in crypto world and now I m holding coins more time than trading resulting in gain of money now. I've been holding my coin for 1 years now, but it is not that much, some of my coins was just added few months ago. I really have faith that it will reach $10000 before the year ends and I am planning to sell a percentage of my coin by that time.

It been 3 weeks since I hold my last earnings, cause half of my earnings are all gone because of daily expenses and needed. I actually get in my bitcoin if already out of budget. I need to save some of it because we also need to save for our future purposes. Well, I just need more patient for me to save this since I just can easily withdrawn it if I want to. So maybe more patient is needed so I can hold it for long.

It is up the people that how much they want to invest and how they want to hold if the value and the price of the bitcoin are need to be the number one currency at the same time. Not only me but the people like me who are having the money to invest but they are not investing is the boring way to have the fun I hope the value and the price of the bitcoin is enough to make a person rich.

I kept my bitcoins for several months and then changed all of them into altcoins and invest in different ISO's  :'(
At that time, in the summer, the same action did many experienced holders (friends of mine). What a pity that I broke one of the rules -
to store 40-50 percent in a big father of cryptocurrency- Bitcoin.

Not so long that is why I am trying to earn it as much as I can.
It is getting too expensive now and hard to make money that will compensate to buy more bitcoins.
My job cannot take care of it so better do another method to make bitcoin. Even bonuses will do with other coins then I will just exchange it for bitcoin.
I know there will be an immense pump that will come so better be ready.

same here ! I also couldn't hold it for long time, all the time something unexpected happened and I needed cash urgently :S

Actually I'm holding my bitcoin so far. I'm holding it because I want to use this when there's an emergency I don't want to waste it to a nonsense things just like buying things that I don't need. Some of us are holding it because we wait to the price of it to get high so that if we cash it out we earn more money right? but that's not my reason because just like what I said I'm only want to use it for emergency so that if the emergency come I'm ready and I have a money.

1day I was long

Since 1 month ago because I heard about the segwit2x hardfork and so far so good, the price of bitcoin increase like 20-30% even the hardfork suspended, after the fall, the price go up again. I think I will keep holding until the hardfork happened, in the next month maybe ?

I'm holding all of my bitcoins that I earned even though its just a small amount, it will increase in the next years so I will just earn and earn and earn and then hold and hold and hold till the highest price will be reached (even though I don't know what is the highest price of bitcoin) :D. Holding is securing the future :).

Well, some of my first bitcoin was bought about 4 years ago. I have been buying and selling since then, but always kept a

80% hoard strategy and a 20% spend strategy. I knew about Bitcoin long before that, but I was always too chicken shit to

buy... until I saw the bigger picture and went down the rabbit hole.  ;D ..... Now I want to kick my own ass for not getting in

much earlier.  ;)

I usually don't hold for long as I keep on needing money from time to time but if I could get my hands on a few btc I would probably hold it till the last bitcoin gets mined and maybe after that I will be making tons of money just by holding it.

So you didn't claim your BCH/BCG/CLAM for these old coins whatever, yet? I ask, because it would be more secure to move the coins before you need to put your private keys in untrusted software.

Right now I'm not holding a bitcoin yet because I'm new to the bitcoin world. And it's not been so long when i become a jr.member . And it is my first time when i joined a signature campaign. But when I got a bitcoin I would not use it yet I'll just continue holding it until the day I use it.

Why risky ? We all know that holding is better than trading i think you need to analyze well for you not to loose big money. Holding bitcoin will surely help you make money and personally i hold bitcoin for good because i believe on the future of bitcoin.

Actually, I wished to hold a lot of bitcoins for many years as an investment. However, My worry would be about the long term safety of the different wallet mechanisms.

i am holding my bitcoin for a long time ago and i am doing trading bitcoin pair usdt and i think i can increase my bitcoin in monthly. i still holding some of my bitcoin in my other wallet just in case if the price is increase so high in future. if we are holding bitcoin, we can make good return in future because the price is still increase so no matter what we do, as long as we can keep it in our wallet, then we can make profit if we sell at high price.

I probably hold the COINS for eight months, from 700 usd to 7000 usd now, unfortunately I have to the currency less and less, but I will keep on hold after have already won't literally sell again.

Depending on where you live, Holding fiat isn't the safest choice either. ;)

If you are doing trading and you are holding bitcoin and you don’t know that for how much time you need to hold then I want to tell you that it doesn’t depend on the time but it depend on the demand of bitcoin as the demand is increased then the price will be increased.

Unfortunately I sold my bitcoin when it hit 10K, so sad for me. I lost almost 90% profit because I sold early. Now I am waiting for the price to drop so I can buy back but there is no sign that it will drop to below 10K. Anyway, if I earn bitcoin, i'll hold up to 20K, no matter how long it takes.

Hi there ibininja! Since I obtain my first coin which resulted from a pc based mining test several years ago, I still hold it until today. However, most my coin is accumulated monthly, I still consider adding and adding more. I think I will hold those coins forever, but five years from now, I will start little by little to withdraw the revenue it generates. So, I wish that the price continues to soar, and hope that regulations, government, powerful people will not hinder the technology but help it and support to make it more sustainable and concrete. ;)

I've been holding this bitcoin for a week since the tremendous price change incident made me want to wait again to where it will grow.

not so long 5 years ago I heard about bitcoin, 2 years later I started investing into bitcoin with very little capital, then wrestle to this day.

i have a target value before i will dispose my bitcoin and ethereum.
so far only bitcoin is what i released.but my ethereum stay intact because i
know next year is what ive been waiting for,and knowing that bitcoin losing
his huge amount maybe next year is altcoins time to grow.

I try to hold until its price is worth selling for. This could make me earn more just by holding it.

It depend on you that how much you want to earn if you want to earn more and more profit then you need to hold your coin for the best time when the rate is reached to very high level like 30k$ then you need to start selling bitcoin.

To be honest, i didn't receive yet any bitcoin.If the time i have a bitcoin i think 1 month i will hold my bitcoin.

since the price of bitcoin has become volatile these days, i do short term trading on it yet, maybe next year when changes on its price become slower i might decide to go for a long term holding :)

i have been holding my bitcoins for about a month now, and the results are very satisfying and good because my money now had a large amount of profit with just sitting in my bitcoin wallet, i plan to hold it for another month or so before withdrawing it.

That depends on the person how long they plan to hold their investments. Some are short-term; others are in the long-term. But for me, long-term is more beneficial so that's what I'm doing.

I don't hold my bitcoin for a long term. i hold it just a week or a month. If my bitcoin reached what I expected to become a profit of my money, then I'll sell it and put it again in bitcoin if the bitcoin dump to make my money profitable again.

I'm holding since last year on December. Although the price now is low i'm optimistic that it will rise again sooner.
