Title: What port needs to be open when mining?
Post by: davemanet on November 06, 2017, 02:04:39 PM
Hi All, do I need to open any ports on my router firewall in order to mine?  I'm using various pools like ethermine, dwarfpool, and nanopool.  I'm having some connection issues so I'm wondering what ports to open on my router?

You should not need to do any special port forwarding unless you changed some settings in your router. Then you might need to manually allow connections through 3333 or whichever port you entered into your mining software's batch file or configuration file.

If you're having connection issues, try checking your LAN connection, and if that's fine, then also try selecting different pool servers, perhaps those physically closest to you.
