What is Nested Quotes? Thats when you quote someone and it takes all quotes in your post. by ticking a checkbox in the admin control panel, you can disable this, and it will only quote the exact message you are replying to. This is useful because: prevents conversations to be taken out of context(by making it necessary to read an entire thread to understand the flow of the conversation. reduces clutter in the thread. reduces the amount of pages in a thread. it just plain looks better. I may be in the minority on this one, and i'm fine with that. Next will be to stop editing of the quote. Nested quotes are necessary, disabling them would remove context and waste people's time. +1 Leaving unnecessary parts of the quotes wastes it either. But it's on each poster to remove them and leave the relevant ones in. I believe that carefully removing parts of the quote by hand woud have more optimal :) results.
