Title: Has the btc to alts migration started?
Post by: Lape77 on November 06, 2017, 06:19:34 PM
Today btc is going down and a lot of alts are rising. Do you think it will be a trend also in the next days? I imagined that would happen after the 2x day. Thank you

I don't see BTC going down. Actually everything is happening the opposite of what you stated. People will start buying start converting alt to BTC just to earn some free coins. This should continue until the 2X fork. After that only market will tell the scene.

Nearer the start of this year, BTC's dominance in terms of market cap was as high as 85%.  Then, with very little increase in actual innovation or interest, alts flew up to a ridiculous extent in comparison with BTC.

There's no reason why they should go back to that place, but considering how rabidly insane some speculators are, it could well happen.

Regardless, alts' market caps tend to fly up much more easily on low volume, which allows manipulation to take over these bubbles, especially in the smaller coins.  So the market caps aren't too comparable in the first place.

One day won't really change much as of now. We need to see the data over a much longer period of time to come to any conclusions.

In regards to altcoins taking over, it's possible that one day in the future that bitcoin will not be the preferred currency and some other altcoin will prevail. However, it seems as of now, bitcoin is not only the most accessible for people, but that it is being picked up by companies as being offered for payment. This will push bitcoin's price up as it is being supported both as an investment and a currency.

Till last hard fork October 24 bitcoin value and altcoin value changes will correct in the same time but after that whenever bitcoin price rises that altcoin is going down. Today correction in taken on bitcoin.
In next few days again bitcoin value will reach to 7500usd again. So fasten up seat belt to buy the bitcoins.

I noticed that. It's good for me, because it means that I get more Bitcoin for my domain names. So far I haven't spent one satoshi, and I hope I can maintain that record for another couple of years. :)

There is not much downfall in the bitcoin prices that are recognised currently is major change in the price.

The alts are going up since two days man and at the same time the bitcoin was rising too. This is getting crazy market now where the alts were inversely proportional to bitcoin prices. When it moved up the alts used to go down because people used to withdraw alts for the bitcoin pair. But now a days both of the market are increasing steadily. May be it is start of some good opportunities for us to invest into both the market on equal level and get profits from the both one. But we have to be carefull and lets study the trends for more days and months if required.

Nah. The recent drops could be attributed to the normal Bitcoin price fluctuation. We're floating just above $7000, and I haven't seen it deviate from there too wildly.

I don't think people will be migrating their Bitcoins back to alts anytime soon though. The upcoming fork raises the question of which is the true BTC, so I expect people to play safe and hold both while the power struggle is taking place. We can expect alts to rise again once everything gets back to normal.

We need to wait for price reversal signs.

Although there is a high chance now that btc price will fall in to 6100 USD price.

However, That is only a correction and btc price might get another high when thats happens.

For me its a good time to buy altcoin. but remember choose a stable altcoin not a shitty one. good luck  ;)

I think BTC will hit new highs before the year runs out, so to your question NO, it has not started but we can't prevent the inevitable because BTC money will eventually find its way into Altcoins again

Very possible. Last time fork happened 2 days earlier than online countdown timer and the pump/dump was 1 days before the fork. So putting perspective, we are really near to the correction now.

There is a chance btc will up this week but I don't think alt coins will go down. Most seems to have bottomed. People start to realize that they won't make much from the fork start buying alt coins now.

i think no, as i see bitcoin is still on its high and altcoins are still down yet people arent still selling and dumping their bitcoin because the fork has not yet started  and i belive bitcoin can still reach a new all time high by next week although  people nowadays are packing up thier bags with alts  as much as they can because probably alts will have a good comeback soon.

Bitcoin is not decreasing at all, but in the following days, that scenerio will high likely to happen. Bitcoin must lose some blood, time is coming.

Bitcoin might be cecreasing at this point but it hasn't gone down that far yet. But there are some who have already bought altcoins and are starting to profit a little from their investment when Bitcoin was so high. I'll just wait and see how far Bitcoin goes down though.

I would not say there has been an actual migration so far. Maybe some one just convert their BTC into fiat currencies because of BTC high price. Nothing so strange although the could be a fork when people can get new coins for free. But many maybe just wanna realize now because they need money.
BTC dominance is still high, although not as high as it was one year ago...

I expect Bitcoin to stay around all-time highs until the upcoming fork (around 16. November). However, after-fork situation could prove second part of your post - migration to altcoins. Due to increased uncertainity about Bitcoin blockchain, price of altcoin could pump. Anyways I guess there is second wave of altcoin speculative investments similar to spring 2017 ahead of us.

I think that tomorrow we'll see another great day for altcoin. Then afterwards after bitcoin's correction is over, probably in a week's time, we'll see alts again bouncing back off to its pre-pump level or even lower just before the 2x fork.

Things are unpredictable right now and it's hard to see what exactly will happen in the future.

But yes, migration has happened today, leading the way is Monero and singulardvt.

I don't think that btc to alts migration has not started yet. I also don't think that this trend would continue in the next few weeks. Still, I know the much awaited alts bullish market comeback is soon to happen. If not by December, it will happen by the early 2018 and the much anticipated btc's continuous bearish trend might also be seen soon. Still, it would be wise if one starts to enjoy the current altcoin pumps that have happened.

There will be no migration to alts. There are too many alts, so any move will not make much difference. Alts golden age is finished.

I don't think so... Altcoin migration will start right before fork day, possible 2-3 days before even. There won't be golden age of altcoins but I think we are gonna very bullish market couple of months.

You should wait for segwit2x to end and the bitcoin price can fluctuate up and down but bitcoin will not go down so fast. Altcoin is recovering as you say but it will return to its original price when the bitcoin increases. We should wait for the fork to end when the bitcoin has a real price adjustment

Yeah, slowly but steady the incoming fork is happening and people start to realize that BTC will lose some value, which is expected considering it doubled it's value in a matter of months. That is good of course because altcoins will get some well deserved breathing room, which they really need. It's not only BTC that is driving the blockchain sector but many altcoins as well, and in the future we'll see more and more altcoins increasing in value in comparison to BTC. BTC is good but the migration to altcoins is essential for the long-term sustainability of the blockchain.

Sell all alts now and buy them back cheaper just before the fork. Or enjoy the fork with your btc.
