Title: bitc-e.com new phishing domain Post by: yeah11 on June 17, 2013, 09:21:43 PM The domain bitc-e.com was recently sold for $1k on a hacking forum, and is now setup as a phishing domain. It was sold by poutine, responsible for stealing tens if not hundreds of thousands from people with bitcoins.
He also owns blockchain.com and has that for sale so watch out for it too. Please post this in a place where it will get more views (reddit, another forum etc) as I cannot post anywhere else. Title: Re: bitc-e.com new phishing domain Post by: collaer100086 on June 17, 2013, 11:07:03 PM scary stuff

Title: Re: bitc-e.com new phishing domain Post by: yeah11 on June 18, 2013, 07:28:25 AM I couldn't agree more it is so easy to let people know a particular domain is bad, if you are buying it for black hat purposesnno domain is worth more than $75.
If he does end up phishing with it again it will be really easy to get the domain suspended as namecheap is a us registrar. In short, xflat is dumb as a rock. https://i.imgur.com/zHcVcuO.png Also, he DID sell btc-c.com, as proven by this screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/ZjChFhy.png Title: Re: bitc-e.com new phishing domain Post by: SgtSpike on June 18, 2013, 03:28:57 PM You guys do realize that he was attempting to sell it to blockchain.info? They denied it. Bad move on blockchain.info's part. If it turns into a phishing site, they're going to lose hundreds of wallets to successful phishing attempts.https://i.imgur.com/zHcVcuO.png Also, he DID sell btc-c.com, as proven by this screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/ZjChFhy.png Regarding the existing bitc-e site, can't it be reported to all the anti-phishing filters for the various browser platforms? That would at least help... It's less stupid links, more typing in the wrong address. I know I've typed in blockchain.com without thinking about it more than once. If it came up to a site that looked exactly like blockchain.info, I'd be concerned for people who aren't paying attention who do the same thing.Title: Re: bitc-e.com new phishing domain Post by: yeah11 on June 18, 2013, 04:48:49 PM image of the post. i read through the thread and i didnt see any sale. https://i.imgur.com/wPlzPP1.png Must've been deleted. Title: Re: bitc-e.com new phishing domain Post by: yeah11 on June 18, 2013, 05:12:09 PM It originally directed to a phishing link to a copy of btc-e.com but soon after I posted this thread the domain was parked, I would like to believe I played a small role in that :-)

Title: Re: bitc-e.com new phishing domain Post by: crazynoggin on June 18, 2013, 06:21:00 PM Just use some sort of parental control program and just enter sites that you know you don't want to enter. Never have to worry about typing in the wrong address again.

Title: Re: bitc-e.com new phishing domain Post by: piuk on June 18, 2013, 08:47:11 PM I've had at least half a dozen people contact me claiming to own the blockchain.com but none have been able to provide any proof of ownership.
If he his the genuine owner I am willing to pay a premium for it. |
