According to Forbes (https://www.forbes.com/sites/brandonturner/2016/11/07/the-10-hottest-real-estate-markets-for-investors-in-2016/amp/), Dallas was the hottest real estate market in the U.S. in 2016.

My guesses for 2017 is either one of these 10 hot real estate market as of August 2017 according to realtor.com: Vallejo, CA, San Jose, CA, San Francisco, CA, Detroit, MI, Stockton, CA, Kennewick, WA, Fort Wayne, IN, Columbus, OH, San Diego, CA, and Sacramento, CA. Although they are hot right now, the hottest real estate market in the US by the end of the year might not belong to this list.
