I think eth. You'll see a large number of eth based erc20 COINS still being issued and ico, so eth must be the first investment option other than bitcoin. Because you're going to join the ico, you almost need eth. So eth is worth expecting.

remember the addage altcoins=scamcoins.

With that said, im not so opposed to: Vertcoin, Groestlcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Monero.

Until now I still trust some Altcoin who have a good future like Etherum and XRP, but I am more inclined to Etherum because the coin has a good development. besides the various innovations we can get such as a token that distinguishes it with other altcoin. high popularity also makes ETherum became one of the closest competitor Bitcoin at this time. That way I am convinced that Etherum can become Altcoin which has the highest price increase rate in 2018.

In my opinion I think to the best altcoin to invest in 2018  is ethereum. Why? Because is second the best coin after bitcoin, and opinions about ethereum are positive.

Very small list. There are not many perspective altcoin, such as: NEM, Bitshares, EOS and others

For fast money, choose Ethereum because the price is going up due to a coin burn that happened on accident. Ripple is worth holding long term.

I think SpectreCoin(XSPEC) is good choice and it's worth closer look. Small cap, small amount of coins and great community. Do your own research about that :)

I would also have to agree with Spectrecoin. Solid group, disruptive potential in Anon market, and it survived it's first year after a top 10 ROI ICO of all time.

In my own opinion, I think Ethereum is one of the best altcoins that one should accumulate by this time. It's price showed a big leap compared to other coins and is continuously used for smart contacts.

I think ETH is good altcoin for next years.you know that ETH is have a own platform wallet.It's based ERC20 COINS still being issued and used ICOs.Many ICOs have who used ETH platform.Moreover lot of people say ETH is the bitcoin of next generation.I think all together, ETH is the best altcoin.

As much as I don't like the new coins that are being promoted by the people on this forum, the Ark coin is one of the coins that can double your money.

That coin does have a small marketcap though it doesn't mean that the coin will get pumped. Ripple has a higher chance of being the most successful.

My personal favorite is DeepOnion but I am definitely not waiting until 2018 to acumulate some. Gonna try to get as much as possible as long as they are so heavily undervalued like right now

In 2018? I think Ethereum will be very good growth and many tokens in the top 100 also exaggerate in price :)

I like both ETH and XRP, XRP has been doing great lastly and especially since 2017 (like Ethereum as well). They had some major breakthroughs in Japan in terms of cooperating and many mainstream banks are looking to invest in their technology, I think XRP has been one of the first blockchain projects to have had such collaboration from major institutions, it's a really nice development for the crypto space and I hope that it continues. ETH had a massive return as well this year, finally the hard work paid off for Vitalik, who created one of the best networks out there. And the best thing is that the Ethereum team is always coming up with new improvement proposals that will fundamentally change the network, in 2018 we'll be seeing some serious buck coming into both of these projects.

Until now i just support ethereum for the best altcoin, since launched price ethereum is very stable, that's made me interest and maybe more investor will be try to invest in ethereum.  So i think the best altcoin in 2018 is ethereum.

I always invest in Ethereum, I just hold and wait for the price to rise. I believe its future because for sure there will be more development in Ethereum. So, I can speculate price will accumulate in year 2018.

ARDOR/IGNIS and NXT are very good Proof-of-stake coin. They are coming back and have a lot of potential to grow. Ardor was once at 12,000s and is now at 3,500s, but the mainet will be launch on 1st january.

For me, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash are one of the most Altcoins that will accumulate next year 2018. Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash values are continuously increasing and will increase more next year so now it's the best time to invest.

I agree, these top Altcoins are currently pumping this quarter and will increase the price next year and so on. If we invest now then we'll get good profits in the future.

Most definitely look into investing in the stronger altcoins, Ethereum, Ripple and BCash.
All other coins you need to check there patterns closely, as they are more volatile.

from the list, actually, my list is xrp, ethereum, gnt, bch but I am choosing ethereum for a long term investment besides bitcoin. in 2018, I see there will be a good year for every coin in the coinmarketcap list because all coin have potential to increase the price and I hope that it will happen after the new year so we can get altcoin party. All of the ones you mention in your thread are very good, especially the way things are looking for Ethereum and Ripple, they both seem capable of reaching new All Time Highs.
Ethereum is sure to reach $600 and Ripple should reach $1 by early next year.

Best Altcoin to invest in the new year would be Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold.

Ripple also has potential to reach its $1 ath but its quite unpredictable just yet.

ETH has huge competition from ADA and Universa and so on! It will be a tough year for ETH.

I think ETH is able to compete with many altcoins, in addition to ETH there are ripple and nxt coins that are beginning to show significant price movements. so I think the coin can compete in 2018.

I believe  eth still the best one this coming 2018 and also ltc. That the only altcoin for now that I know is the best because of having high value than others.

I chose XRP, because the coin has the same potential as ETH. One week of this XRP price has started to show progress, and will continue like that.

I think the biggest issue ETH will have is whatever is added to Coinbase next. That's where my next move is oriented towards... I keep up with the news of GDAX and Coinbase development to get hints about what they'll add next.

So far i am interested in the Ripple movement, a few days back i started to fall in love with Ripple. Why? My habit every day is open https://coinmarketcap.com/ i observe the best 50 coin prices. And what happens is what i see a few days when bitcoin prices and some altcoins go down but what happens to the ripple is a price increase.

After that, i look for information about Ripple, from various media that i read Ripple has an advantage over the appeal of another altcoin and bitcoin. The first is, a number of banks began to actively cooperate with Ripple to implement technology in their payment infrastructure. The second advantage that Ripple is able to complete up to 1500 transactions per second, different with bitcoin that is only able to complete transactions only 3 to 7 per second. And the last advantage is that the price of Ripple is not determined by speculation and rumours and this will make the ripple price will be very stable.

Finally i think Ripple is more suitable for long term investment. Because we know the price of Ripple is still less than $2 but did not close the possibility in the short term, could be Ripple prices will soar in 2018.

I think the best coin to accumulate is bitcoin. After of that, ethereum can be the best altcoin to accumulate. After of this options, according to me, monero, waves or IOTA may be good choices.

Ripple will continue to surge as it adds more banks to its portfolio.

Stellar (XRM) is also surged just because it falls under the same business utility as Ripple. It is now under top 10 in the coinmarketcap.

Ripple is the best of the best. At the end of year it showed bright result. And this is quite understandable thing because Ripple developers are making all they can for improving their currency into real finance world.

for your list, I still have my ethereum, ethereum classic, sc, dgb, and xvg and I don't see that the increase of this coin is significantly but yes, this coin trying to increase in the exchange. I hope with this new year, we can see all of this coin is going to increase and make a new high price. but I wonder about stu, I heard that stu is from bitjob but unfortunately, I don't know much about them. maybe I will check it later and if it's a good coin then maybe I will buy some amount later.

I love reading the posts from November. Only 3 months, and such big changes in the market! Eth was 300 in early November, 900+ now. Ripple hit 3 bucks. I am accumulating WAVES. Very stable coin. Despite the jumps of bitcoin and ethereum, it always remains in its positions and the price does not change very much.

The best altcoins to accumulate in 2018 are coins that are less than 1 dollar but if you have plenty go with coins less than 5 dollars. For coins less than 1 dollar , you can go to TRX, DENT, VIU, CMT and XLM , For coins less than 5 dollars you go with Oyster (PRL), Ripple (XRP), IOTA , NEBEUS (this is an ico buy it while its still cheap , its a lending coin, CCORE

I would still choose the low market coins over these highcaps,because it wont give much gains at the end of the year compare to the low cap if you can buy a lot if it reaches atleast $2 it would give you x10000 gains.

I dont know what other say, but for me etherium is still the best for me.

ADA is still cheap.. Likewise tron... Fun.. Then go-to some small exchanges and seek out cheaper coins to fill your bag but you may have to wait for a year for it to grow in value..

When we say "is the best" it only refer into one.  I would rather give you an idea which among those altcoins are the best among the rest.  According to my research, Ethereum is always on the list.  You can also go for Ripple, Monero, Busmuth, NEO, Ubiq, EOS, Lisk, Sia, Factom and Ardor.  To share my own opinion with you, these was chosen because of their excellent performance.  Reputation and stability are the best foundation which these altcoins have.  Now, it's up to you then which among them you are going to use.

Ethereum is known for its ability to make payments by Peer-to-peer without the use of third parties.

I support Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero and NEO. I think that eventually these coins have good potential.  :)

For me this is the best performing altcoin of cryptocurrencies world market that we accumulate.
Especially the BCH o bitcoin cash.
Because bitcoin cash is proven and a good example of an evolved cryptocurrency that is ready for real world use and is able to cater the needs of retailers such as having faster transactions and lower fees by accepting bitcoin cash instead of fiat for payments.

How about XRP?

 I heard a lot of good things in ripple. They are saying that it will surpass ethereum now. It become more indemand of the faster transaction it has. And the lower fee than bitcoin. Actually when you look at the table of price movement of ripple. It almost increase by 30% of its previous price. So it means that it really nice to buy and hold because it will give you a good income later on.

XRP could be one of best altcoin in 2018 because the XRP has large investor inside the project and if I am not wrong, XRP made approach to the banks but unfortunately, I don't really know and maybe later I will search more about this news. from the list, I think ethereum, ltc, bch, xvg, xmr, bcn, ada, is another best coin in 2018. but it's not close to the other altcoin because I am sure that every altcoin that is a list on coinmarketcap has the same opportunity to be the best coin in 2018.
