Title: Help! etherscan showing mysterious additional tokens after buying ico token.
Post by: jardia on November 08, 2017, 05:48:14 AM
Hi.

I bought some HKN tokens using kickico and jaxx and when I search for my public key on etherscan->token transfers I can see my HKN tokens but also three others that have nothing to do with me (DATACoin, XENON, OmiseGo).

It would be really great if someone could clear up my (presumable) misunderstanding. It's just got me a bit worried. I though I would be the only one using my address?

Here are the details:
Code:
Transfer 0.5 ETH to kickico to buy HKN token
    from: 0x0daad088bd57b39045df459b4d5be3c35e9412b1 (jaxx wallet address)
      to: 0x5b2f9e2912c671877b3563e461789ecb5a313c6f (kickico address)
contract: 0x9e6b2b11542f2bc52f3029077ace37e8fd838d7f

Searching for my public key I see the following with four entries of which I can only explain one (the HKN) one:
https://etherscan.io/address/0x0daad088bd57b39045df459b4d5be3c35e9412b1#tokentxns

Thanks heaps
Oliver

I had a similar when I bought STORJ tokens. There was still some another token on the balance sheet at myetherwallet. After a while, that token disappeared.
I did not find out, perhaps these are display errors due to the large number of tokens or imperfection of algorithms.

Thanks guys.

I've been in touch with the helpful kickico.com support guys.

They explained it like this.

Those are just extra/spam/airdrop tokens that get sent to everyone. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks all.

Did the support guys say anything on how this event may be avoided? It would be troublesome to receive spams every now and then
