Ummm...any reason why we've all just lost it??? I had 1000+ posts next to my name and was hero member an hour ago...now I have 70?!

It's not just me, it's happened to everyone!!

Please someone tell me I'm not going mad...:-[

Can you not see everyone's posting history number has decreased massively? And they have been knocked several tiers of status? I was a Hero member with about 1070 posts, and now I'm a full member with 70, or do you see something different...?

I mean it's wiped 1000's from John K's figure as well! (Viewable to me, on this screen).

EDIT: just checked on my iPhone, same thing, a cull of over 1,000 posts...

Yeah decreased....and you are now a full member...

Edit: new posts also not adding..you still 70 posts.....

It's counting the number of days you've been posting instead of # of posts.

Wow so is this a glitch? You're a full member with 166 posts may end. GXMaxwell, who I pave just pm'd has been culled along with everybody else...

Yes, it's just rounded to every 2 weeks.  Everyone is a multiple of 14.

Most people can not tell that some people have just started participating recently and then give them the wrong impression about how trustworthy the account user may be in relation to overall project participation.

it's not called 'post count' any more - it's 'activity' which I presume is some equation involving the number of posts per day with a decay, but it sounds like the algorithm is opaque at the moment.

This is bullsh*t. If your going to do a post/activity ratio crap, you need to have both available next to the avatar. No one is just going to click your profile? ??? ??? ???

You need to voice that on the prior link given at the end of page 1 of this thread, but not actually in this thread.

I suspect its also balancing out long time members that only post when they feel its beneficial to the forum.  Too bad it can't also recover months of lurking before registering.   ;)

I understand this to be a positive change.  Though I lurk way more than I post, oh well.  Its not like i'm trying to make a bunch of money on here or anything.

It should be a boon to weeding out those that spam the forum to look like trusted members.

what counts is the posting showing on your profile. Activity is shown not postings ?

I make the effort to read other members previous posts in an attempt to evaluate their community participation.  This helps me avoid those that wish to exploit others for personal gain.

EDIT: I just posted something to just get a reference for some hueristic hypotheses.  

One that works for me right now is ceil(elaspsed time logged in, in hours).

1. Notice something changed in the forum
2. Don't even notice it's not called Posts anymore but Activity
3. Run to Other > Meta
4. Don't read the 3 threads that have "activity" in the title
5. Make a new, useless thread
