I have a lot of altcoin and  Bitcoin.  I certain decided to keep it anyway because I think they will be valuable in the future. Especially I accumulate Ethereum, Wawes, Stratis, research yourself, it is not advisable.

I would suggest ELLA as well, Etherium alike blockchain, under the radars at the moment.

Anything that doesn't include "transfer of value" would be a good investment in my opinion. There are so many coins out there that the only thing they are doing, is sending coins from one address to another (copying BTC essentially), the altcoins that will stand out are the one's that deviate from this concept and the one's that can offer something new to the market. Ethereum is already a great pick, before it can do basically anything. It's more of a platform that provides solutions, rather than a solution to a specific problem. So anyone who wants to program a something using crypto coins, will eventually have to use Ethereum to do that, and buy Ether to make transactions. NEO is cool as well because they are doing the same thing as Ethereum, but are focused on the Asian market, which is huge. That would be a good hedge (investing in both NEO and ETH). My suggestions in to buy one of these coins, and base your future decisions on unique projects and not copy cats.

I will choose MCO because this altcoin is really useful for life because the MCO has been recognized in France and in the near future the ATM facility will support the MCO and have additional Visa Credit Card to make it possible for people to buy sell

Right now the altcoins I am holding are Ethereum, SIA, Deep Onion, and Metaverse. I have pretty high hopes for a couple of them!!

Ehereum will always be winner in the end but the price is too high now so its good to wait for some more time and wait for the price to go lower and rest I have faith in ripple, digibyte and monero as all this coins are long term players and you can make good profits from it if you hold it for the right time.

Waves is a horrible example, dont invest in there because it is freezed coin, it has not been increasing its value for more than months.
It is more than five bucks each one right now, but it was $4, and it has been in there for more than months. I suggest to you to look for other altcoins that are going to have a nice future, like Lisk, it is increasing so fast and i am sure that you are going to double your money in there very quickly. It is one of my favourite coins so far.

  1. OMG - this one is really safe going up and might probably be min 2-10x - big guys in the Team, great technology and also a lot of followers already

  2. Litecoin - Litecoin was always a safe investment and is a good choice for longterm although the price is a bit high right now. The technology and everything is great and they are
  already a long time in the game which will also keep them growing slowly all the time. So safe, but not the highest winpotential

  3. Lisk - great potentital with it's team and technology, but better read about this one by yourself

  4. Ethereum - safe longterm holding because it's all the time progressing and next year with Proof of Stake it could get a lot of gain.

  5. IOTA - read about, I think it could get really big and the price is still under 1$, so here's a chance to 10x-100x your money. Unfortunately there are just a few Exchanges offering it,
  but it might get a big rise when Bittrex and others are also offering it.

Actually these are the main ones I can recommend and might be safest options to invest when talking about longterm. Shortterm you can take a look at Vericoin as it always going up and down for around 50-80%.

Otherwise you should also take a look at those coins: Waves, Vertcoin, Ark, EOS, Golem.

Don't just go for one or two as you might miss big chances and splitting the risk is always a good thing.

It depends on how much risk you can afford. If you capable to take only low risk than it is better to invest in big plaers like BTC and some big platforms like ETH, NEO, XEM. EOS. But if you are risky player and you can afford to lose much more but to have more chances for making Xs then you can watch smaller players especially in Asian sector. People in Asia can make huge pumps. As we all saw it even on the projects with big capitalization like NEO, BCH and BTG.

Torcoin ? There is no volume trading anymore and it is listed on 2 exchanges (1 of them will close soon), so why do you think it has a good future ? And why Torcoin instead of DeepOnion ?

Well, alts are showing a big movement that can guarantee big profits for those that buy right now, however there is not way to tell how much this is going to last since bitcoin could always skyrocket again, so the best advice that I can give to you is invest in altcoins but be prepared to sell and buy bitcoin again if it shows signs of a big movement.

I tend to gravitate toward coins that can be staked for returns. I also agree with srqrebel that privacy coins are a solid investment. Many of them have already boomed, but there are still some out there in their infancy that are worth looking into.

Here are a handful of lower market cap alts that I'm into right now.

Less than or around $1:
Wabi (This is a solid watch, many expect it to x5-10 in the coming months with expected news)
Request Network (At the most basic level, Paypal on the blockchain)
XSpec (Privacy coin, very under the radar. Can stake your coins for a return. Will have stealth staking in v1.5)

if you want to invest in long term surely i will recommend you to choose ETH because it is popular and easy to use but also steady rise in the future but if you want short term profit than you should choose to invest in Ripple, it is rising rapidly and dont drop too much, it is a good altcoins in the future.

If you think we are in the middle of a bubble then why are you going to hold your coins, after all if you are so sure, you are going to get more profits by selling everything you have and then buying your coins back and obtain a profits that way, sometimes you need the conviction to go for what you want it can be difficult to do it at time but sometimes we must  follow our instincts.

To speculate shortterm, there are very many altcoins that have potential to benefit us to hold. Ethereum is a definite altcoin and promises consistent profit for longterm.

I just bought into mod and lrc , both look like they may rise in the coming days imo.

In my oppinion, there are 3 coins are worth to buy right now. They are Ripple, Monero and Bitcoin cash. Both of them are basic coins in the market which have been accecpted around the world. They also have many advantages in payment when comparing with Bitcoin.

They said that this is the right time to invest in altcoin.
Because we all know that the price of most the altcoin are down because of the high demands in bitcoin.
And the so much high price of btc.
That's why they are thinking that if the time comes that bitcoin will fall down and altcoin will boom.
So this is the right time to collect and invest altcoin.
And for me the best altcoin to invest for the future are ethereum and bitcoin cash.

Monero for me is still sleeping giant which will pump in near future to the moon so investing in it even now should bring lot of income!

There were a lot of altcoins in which you could have invested and made a lot of money but now it seems a little late you need to find a good altcoin with a low market cap and then invest a good amount of money if you want to make money, if you do not do that then your earnings are going to be very low if you invest in the most popular altcoins.

I found a really good coin recently, it's called ICT and it's like the chinese IOTA, the marketcap is at 80 million so there are still lots of room for growth. i am going to keep an eye on it.

Yes I agree with you,but for ethereum is best altcoin rather than the other altcoin to invest especially in long term. Because Ethereum is gradually increase the price like the bitcoin.
