I think that it depends a lot, ethereum is one of the best altcoins because it has always been going up, at the beggining of this year it was below ten dollars each one of them,and now it is upto 310 dollars each one, it has increased a lot in just ten months, make your own conclusions with that.
Ethereum is probably your best choices, but ico's might be too, but you have to look for those who are "good ones" and that are not going to scam anyone, but be careful with those, you have to pay a lot of attention if you dont want to be scammed,.

I also think it depends a lot on which ICO's you are trying to purchase because we'll never know if those ICO's you re purchasing will be worth something in the next 10 years or so. But if I were to choose between both of them, my bet would be to probably purchase in Ethereum rather ICO's. I just need a few more years for this altcoin to increase back and reach a new ath again.

All the best with getting profits from ico in long run just check the icos which has raised millions but still the price remains lower than the actual ico in recent times. Some might argue it is because of SegWit and other stuffs happening but unfortunately the reality for most ico is hold for few days when it get's listed and sell it as soon as you gain a profit.

I would go for ETH and on some ICO which means i would really go for both but majorly on ETH since we know this is one of the best altcoin as of now in the ranking which we can really presume that it is stong compared on some altcoins in the market and talking about ICO investment you can possibly get some profits if you do hit the right project but as of the current state on where there are lots of ico launched recently then i can say the chance on getting profits is somehow dimmed.

As far as i understand and this based on my experience in both of the longterm investment and ico. I've made a lot of money from ico from the long term investment.
From iconomi i've made 10 bitcoin, Zrx ico and that gives me over than $150000 from my investment in there. And from the lisk i just buy the lisk when the price was around $0,16. and i've sold my list @$5 for each coin.
Ethereum as the longterm investment and it seems very good in my opinion. that's why i always try to convert my profit to the ethereum form.

I would go with eth? I guess ICOs have higher profits just after it has ended and after that its growth is less than its decay. Unlike eth like bitcoin has a higher chance of rising its value which can be useful for profit.

Etherium have shown surprising in the past 10 months. It grown so much and still offering promising future. From 10$ it has already come to 310$ mark. Its on the right track and we could expect continuous pumping in the next months. Thus, its also a good thing investing with it, you'll propably gain good amount of profit and may cause to grow your fund. On the other hand, there were also ICOs that are promising, its also good not to miss opportunity getting new coins. ICOs is a long term investment, be sure that the project involve is realistic and may really become a success. Study and search for trusted ICO available, most are just Scam and wanting to get instant profit.

I chose ETH for savings in a long time, because ETH to own a more stable price.

Between the choices, I would go into buying Etherium and hold it for a period of time since Etherium is also a good coin to invest your money with because just like Bitcoin, its market value is having a high rate of increase so investing to it will yield to profit in the future. And in ICOs, the profit is much risky than investing to a certain coin since there are scam projects.

ETH is an established altcoin with good perspectives for the future. Investing in an ICO is more risky as you are usually puting the money in a starup company than can or can´t grow. on top off that some of the tokens issued are useless and many ICO´s are scams, so theoretically some ICO will give you more profit but at a much higher risk.

seriously?  I think ETH is not a stable currency indeed it has a cheap value now adays i dont know what are the reason and also i am not satisfied to invest eth on ICOS even long term investment because of its condition.

Both these methods are risky. It seems to me that it would be better to pay attention to bitcoin. Many people think that bitcoin is a bubble but in any case it burst last. Even if it ruptures, first it will not survive no coin. They will fall apart like a house of cards. All cryptocurrencies are difficult to forecast and therefore it is impossible for them to hope as long-term investments.

Well much prefered with ETH because token usually undergone conversion to come up with real currency, token are not yet stabilized and has a lower value compared to ETH. The worst thing if you are victim with scam then it could be a great loss. your money and your time are all wasted .

There are ICOs that are profitable but most of it are scams at this moment. And not all ICO are successful. So i think buying Etherium will be more profitable. Investing to it will lead to good profit since its market value is also increasing and becoming more expensive. And in the future it will be more profitable as an investment due to its potential.

ETH is one of the best altcoin after bitcoin and has gained much popularity and boost in its price within this year and now is above $320 and has potential to grow much fast.On the flip side ICO's which have raised millions and are not scammed can return you good amount in long run.So its depend on how you want to allocate your resources.

I think ICO will be the better way to make profit, ICO is a new coin that still very cheap, if the coin that you bought got a good potential, people will invest in it and the price will keep on going, and as an early adopter there will be a lot of bonus and extra when you bought the coin, so your profit can be multiplied

Since you are asking for the long term then i suggest investing in ETH, ETH has a potential and it is second to Bitcoin and it also proven itself this year. Eth are already working, already in exchange and it keeps being develop unlike if you are going to invest in ICO, ICO are unsure and only few ICOs are being develop after ICO ends most are scams.

Ethereum could be count to a very risky investment, but much less risky then investing in ICOs.

The problem with ICOs that some of them could be just a scam, so you need to have a fair knowledge , and make a research on the organizers to  make sure that they won't end up taking your money without doing anything, and you will stay with worthless tokens.

I think that ICOs are  a bubble, companies are trying to get massive amount of funds, and they get it, which make their starting market cap to be huge, so the growth potential is much lower.

Ethereum on the other hand, is less risky investment, but already has a market cap of about 30B$, so the growth potential is much less then investing on a brand new ICO.

both will all make you profit but it depends on how long you hold and if you did the good choice of your investment

if for the long term I would rather buy ETH, because ETH is a very good altcoin after bitcoin. but for now bitcoin prices are going up high, for now ETH still can't rise

There is an other site for checking out recent ICO which are ongoing and upcoming to launch and as an investor we are really  responsible on taking such measure to research a particular coin if it does have potential or not for you to make money on future or even on shorter terms. Back in the past where i have invest on ico and hold it for long because i do believe on the coins potential and a year later it did give me 100x of investment which is really a good thing.

ICOs are really a good way to make profit because if you are really good researcher then you can find a great ICO which their project will have a good future and just like what happened to you, you experienced a huge return in a short time and that is why it is good also to put some money into ICO because they are a good investment for sure.

avoid holding random ICO for a long time because a lot of them is going to crash some day, more precisely when crypto market boom ends. If you want to hodl ICOs you have to diversify. Personally I believe in long term BTC is the most safe store of value besides nowadays bull runs. There are charts that show the difference in behavior of BTC price vs altcoin prices in long term. BTC in general has performed better in bear markets in the past.

Buy ETh because at least you have an assurance that it will skyrcocket but it will only take time unlike ICOS that are full of promises and bullshit.

After few years? Holding ETH will be the best choice, profit from ICO is just for a short time and they might be on hype for their launching and wait for after the launching or maybe after a couple of months you'll see on how they will go. Only few ICO are successfully getting the hype after launching, many still relies to the old coins that are better to invest your money if you plan to hold for years. It's only my suggestion but if you think ICO will be great for years, there's nothing wrong with it.

just like most people said, it depends on the ico. some ico's are good and some are just plain scams but on eth your sure that you funds are secure and can guaranteed you a sure profit after some months or years after holding it.  though its still up to you,  if you want to maximize your profit then go on  both but if your too scared to be scammed then go only on etherium.

depends on your risk tolerance. If you want very high returns your best bet are ICO's but you run the risk of the project not developing. From the other hand, if you are more conservative and already are kinda well capitalized, you can put your money in ETH. Even though you won't get the same return as in ICO's, Ethereum is already well tested by the market and is proven resilient in the crypto field.

It all depends on the person himself. In addition to this, one more important thing which matters the most if the budget or you can say the amount of money he is having. I personally think of investing in ETH to be the best possible option than that of investing in ICOS. Investing in ETH and after that going for day trading or short term investment will for sure help you in getting huge amount of money.

The thing is you may end up missing the first few days when it gets listed but after then, you may just have to hold.
Some great projects can be very profitable at first if you are fast enough to sell your coins but I have seen some that in the long term, they ended up having much more profit than one can imagine, which is a good thing.

One of the reasons why I do not sell and just hold for long once I have missed that best-selling point unless I am sure it would still drop more.

Etherum, nowadays it is the best coin to just invest and made the most income by only holding it in your pocket.

ETH has been getting a lot of hits these days and I really hope a lot of development is done for a more secured ecosystem. Although, like you said, Ethereum is not really that stable and it has been dancing on a spot for a very long time now, but there is still much chance for it to grow more than it is right now. Nevertheless, ICOs are really a very good form of investment both for short and long term; you just have to be smart about your investment.

i think for long term investment of course ETH, ICOs token only booming once it launched in market and then only left with low volume, but ETH still can survive because the coin have good prospect

I think it is better to buy Ethereum, because Eth's value gradually rises. Because if you invest in ICO's, there are no guarantees, you may lose or possibly scam.

ETH is a very good altcoin. It is established and it has really seen some days as well. There are chances for it to grow and less risky to invest in than ICO that you are not sure yet about its future. Still, ICOs from what I have seen so far, if you hit the right project can give you a huge profit within a short or long term which can really be a very good way to invest for those who can take the pain to do research before investing.

No, i would not like to purchase ethereum because i had a long term investment in ethereum and until now, it has gained totally a few hundred dollars value in market.
These days, ICOs have became an alternate medium for crypto enthusiasts to earn extra profits.
Rather than to invest in ether, i would prefer to research some great ICOs and purchase a sufficient amount of tokens

I used to believe in holding for long as well before but that has really changed a lot. Not that I do not believe in the success of the project but with the fact that most of them gets dumped anyway which can give me a chance to quickly drop mine and buy more when the value has really seen some down trends.

At least with this, I can make some of my investment back and still be able to hold some of the coin for the future.

Nowadays for me the best is hodling coins like etherum cause his price is going to grow and you could earn even 3x more after one year.

Purchasing into good icos so much profitable than anything in cryptocurrencies. Existing tokens may increase in price by adoption but icos are otherly league. I see 10x or even 100x making icos in years.

I choose eth now is growing and growing faster like other coins.It has a future that can be followed like bitcoin,holding eth is safe and secured because its price is increasing.And for ICO we did'nt know what happens next if it can be profitable and its future there is no guarantee.

Safe bet - ethereum, even compared to bitcoin it's superior, faster, cheaper, if I had large sum to invest it would be here. Now the fast way is definitely ICOs, the ones that aren't hyped, and have small Mcap. I personally go x25 on one of the ICOs, but you need to investigate them before you put your money in.

I would say that buying eth can make some good gain in returned if we are dealing with long term goal, its really hard to risk your money with ico's
since most of them are just a money making project and the future ahead would be hard to predict, its just a personal assumption its still best to
review and study your investment.

ICO more risky investments

If you are choosing the right project and that will never become a risky investment. Qsp, Raiden network, Powerledger and soon will be crypterium. they are all very very good project. Many people are believing about that.

ETH is really good to have whatever you do. When you are not invested in an ICO you can be invested in ETH. Which means that everytime you have money to invest, make sure to buy ETH, in that way you'll have a good currency that will be stable overal and gain you some descent profit over the years. When you find from the other hand a good ICO that you really want to invest in, then you can consider liquidating a small portion of your ETH holdings and invest them in ICO's. That's the best strategy I can think of, in that way you'll make profits form ETH gains and at the same time be able to invest in ICO's in case something really awesome shows up, don't invest in useless ICO's because the majority out there is just that - useless.

I will choose to purchase eth the price will boom soon. Price is affordable to buy in eth we can gain profit. Yes ico are risks investment but you can also earn profit.
