If that's what you're looking for, probably better off leaving everything in BTC. There might be a couple altcoins with similar characteristics, but very few grow as much and as steadily as BTC.

You should try to make your own researchs about that, but ethereum might be your best altcoin to invest right now since it is one of the most safest ones, and the most promising ones too.
I prefer to invest in safest coins instead of those shitty altcoins that are always underrated, by this way, you will always know that you are investing in something safe, and that will never go to zero.
Monero is a good option too, but it has not been moving during the last weeks.

The best long term coin has always been bitcoin. People mostly invest in altcoins because of the chance that an altcoin will double or more in price. You're not going to find any cryptocurrency at the moment that's safe to invest in :) Maybe Eth, but other than that, bitcoin is prone to either skyrocket or dump, with the news of the 2x update called off. No one is really sure which way it'll tip.... and alts are pretty much on the same path. Either people will quit bitcoin and jump to alts or they're going to stay in it and ride it through. So I'd wait until early next year if you want something that's "safe". This will let the community die down a little and hopefully make a better trend.

I'd advise you to think about risk vs. reward. This whole crypto space is to make money and use currency as a trading commodity, so high risk is a guaranteed here, at any time. Waiting for a bit for things to cool down will only help so much, or things could just get worse.

I think there's nothing safe in this crazy crypto-world! Almost every coin/token has huge volatility and so you can lose high amount of money investing in it. It's a very risky market.
Yet there are coins which look more stable than others, for example ETH. Safest would have to be ethereum. Over the last couple months the price has fluctuated between $290 usd to about $350 usd. So looks like it has a solid foundation and I can't see it plummeting to nothing. There are too many erc20 tokens that are built from the ethereum blockchain that would prevent it from dropping too far. As it moves to POS there might be a bit more of a fluctuation but that is still about a year off.

I always look for Ethereum and Waves because investing in these two would probably giving a high chance to earn huge profit. Yes the best thing to do is check first the altcoins to invest in to get rid of losing our funds.

Some might argue that BCH is not a safe investment due to the recent pump craziness, so you might want to double check some things if you are thinking about that one.
Also, dash is another one that has quite a bit of controversy because it's so centralized.

The ones that have been around for over a year and have had a steady price range indicate a more solid coin.

I will suggest you invest in monero and litecoin. looking at the price movement of these two altcoin I can see that they are quite stable. when bitcoin was risen they maintain their prices in relation to bitcoin price. I would have added ethereum but ethereum does not have that history until recently.

ACtually there are altcoins worth considering for long term. As you have said you are not chasing huge profits. I think that is a very good start, not just your not pressured to have a huge profit  , though everyone wants it, you are more likely to be relaxed and calmed if market correction happens. My biggest priority for altcoins is ETH, it has a very good platform and technology behind it that can be a worthy investment. It has also respected founder that can support what can be the future of it. Some of my other picks will be NEO, XLM and XRP. They have huge upside potential because of great vision, actual products and great team behind it.

I think CIVIC and ETHEREUM would be the safest options to invest in. Ethereum, without any doubt is one of the most popular cryptocurrency available in the market and is the master of all smart contracts. You shouldn't look much further than ethereum, other than that I would also recommend holding some litecoin and maybe some ripple. With those 3 you have very stable and secure coins that still have some room to grow a little more!

Im currently watching two to three ICO to invest into and that Social, Jibrel and Indahash. First two ICO’s are already down with their ICO pre sale and you can still have chance to buy them over the exchanger.


The main reason behind choosing all these three is their working products and services in the market. This means they are just using our money to upgrade to new versions of their products and services which will lead to greater publicity and marketing in the mean time. Tis will attract millions of investors and users obviously to avail their services and thus they will be able to give heavy price tag for our altcoin.


My major focus is social and then followed by those two coins. Social is to upgrade themselves in the month of January which means the success is not much far. So hopefully we will meet on the same boat soon. :-)

Altcoins were safe, but for the same we need to be active with good market analysis. Altcoins should be used for short term profiting and if it's planned to hold for long too, it needs to be sold and bought at certain time intervals. I do it after encountering a great loss of about 0.6btc worth in an altcoin.

I would say ltc since it was consider to be silver if btc is gold and it used to have 10:1 ratio compared to bitcoin(we might get close to this again)It was used as a testing platfrom for upgrades that are planed to be used on btc network like segwit and lighting network.Ltc  is everything that btc was suposed to be as a payment solution-fast transactions with low fees and with crypto being accepted in the world and recognised as a good think we could say mass scale adoption of ltc in the future

Ethereum would be very safe (objective around 1000$ within 1 year), IOTA as well given their new partnership with microsoft (objective around 50$ within 1 year), but mostly I'd say Sonm. They haven't experienced a significant pump because they're still working quietly below the radar. It's also clear bots are holding down the price to ensure mass acumulation. Personally I think it could easily go x10 next year (1.5$), x60 within the next 2 - 3 years (+- 10$).
