Title: Anyone using Gigabyte h110-d3a Mobo for mining rig?
Post by: Ed1911 on November 09, 2017, 03:05:47 AM
Hello... setting up my new rig, and this motherboard is not detecting my SSD. After reading deeper, I am seeing some folks say this Mobo only supports M2 SSD... is this the case? Gigabyte site is not forthcoming on supported SSD types.. ???

The board can use only SATA3 type  ssd or M2 ssd. check the Gigabyte wevsite, info is in the "support"  tab on the webpage about this MB model.

thanks for the response

There is no "support" section for SSD, just ram and cpu. I've tried two 2.5 SSD SATA 3 drives, and the bios will not even detect them. I can't download windows, as it will not recognize the SSD. I am starting to think it will only support m.2 ssd

What are you using for yours? You have this MB?

xxx.gigabyte.asia/FileList/SSD/mb_ssd_support_100series.pdf
change the xxx to http :  / download.
when you click on Support and it opens, there are three links for cpu ssd and m2 download of pdf files with supported modes

I appreciate the info... however, I am seeing online that this particular motherboard is only supporting SSD in the M.2 slot. A lot of folks are having issues getting a 2.3 SATA 3 SSD drive to work, plugged into a sata port. Do you have this board?

Hi, I was considering this board but got the GB z270p-d3 instead. Other users mine successfully with 6-7 (including M2 slot) cards on it.
