Now that all the excitement on Segwit2x has died with it, I believe some of the altcoins will start to gain in the next few weeks. In the next dip, I will be trading a large portion of my Bitcoins in DCR.

Please know that Decred will be my first long term altcoin investment.

I am announcing that I have traded a small portion of my Bitcoins for Decred at an average price of .00425. I will add more if it dips more but I do not believe it will happen, or I hope it will not happen.

I held Ethereum Classic before, but it never lasted for more than a week. Decred is my first official "buy and hold" altcoin. Wish me luck!

Evidently I got very lucky on my entry in Decred. On block 189567, the Lightning Network will be integrated in the network. That is only a few days from now!

If that is what's causing the pump then I expect the coin to be dumped after Lightning integration because of day traders exiting their positions. That would then be another good time to use the "buy the dip" strategy and pick up dropped coins.

That is the idea. I hope to double or triple my Bitcoin investment by December of 2018 or more in fiat value. But I admit that I will only continue holding for as long as the velocity of it's price surge in fiat terms is faster than Bitcoin on a monthly average.

I believe it is time to buy the dip before the climb towards $100 continues. A small warning though, I am not a good trader. But I am lucky. Hahaha. Good luck!

I believe the Decred developers' theories and ideas on cryptocurrency governance will be one of the things to be excited about for 2018. Some investors believe it is privacy or more decentralized mining, but governance will override them all.

The general dump is very well resisting. It can be picked up and kept in mid-term.

Bump! Why is everyone talking about their ICO shitcoins? The real party is in Decred's house! Hahaha.

But I believe the pump was overdone. Everyone should relax and wait for the dip. 8)

Glad to see a person who invested in DCR 5 Month ago. Did you fix some profit during recent pump period?

but the investment is always risky, hopefully you will win.

Decred to be a privacy coin with a different implementation than Monero, Beam, Grin, based on CoinShuffle.

I'm not a technical person, but that sounds good! With on-chain governance, an off-chain layer, and privacy, Decred will have everything, almost. 8)

Decred volume across exchanges is absolutely couch cushion change level. However, I don't think paying a market maker to try and provide liquidity is anywhere close to the correct answer. The project has just never really taken off in terms of popularity, and in my experience if a coin doesn't have a lot of momentum out of the gate and maintain and grow that momentum, it's very difficult to get the ball rolling again at a later date (although Decred is still in active development by some smart folks, to date I think this still holds true).

Many coins developers realized years ago that eventually people will reject transparent ledger cryptocurrencies.  That is why they starts thinking of how to make their ledgers as opaque as they can with as little as possible penalties.  Some that are capable of doing things like Decred started showing results. The rest stayed at plans like Litecoin and many others.

who can begin to look beyond this fraudulent decred "airdrop" aka shill campaign on behalf of insiders at bittrex who solely promoted this dogshit months before it was ever listed. hmmm  ::)

How much was airdroped?  I wish I was more aware back then to claim some.

I think it was 4% of total supply. And you could register with any non-zero activity social media account - here, Twitter, t Reddit, etc - so not really sure how gembitz got doxxed, but he's clearly special, so I wouldn't put it past him.

I believe it's better to have a good cryptocurrency than have a shitcoin that good marketing is what it only has. But marketing Decred will be easy in the right time, when all the bad coins' core developers notice, and end their useless development.

I am not very impressed with the Decred privacy roadmap. However Decred is clearly the most interesting  blockchain when it comes to decentralized governance. DASH is nowhere close to DCR in this area.

Actually, this year, and last year has been down for most other coins except Bitcoin. HODL bitcoin, but eyes always out for other good coins. 8)

Decred "privacy" is non existent ~ their goal from the get go has to comply with U.S. authorities to document & provide personal information of users.

These kind of scumbag "devs" do not advocate for privacy rights and are simply out for the loot.

Interested investors must have seen that buying Decred to buy voting tickets/stake is cheaper than it has been. 8)

What a comeback this November! From $13 to $22, that's almost 100% gain. I wished I've seen the reversal in the last week of October.  :-\ Now if the bulls break $24, it will go on to $33 at least in my opinion.
