What happend with BTC? BTC is going down under 7000 USD.

segwit 2x cancelled but BTC is going down under 7000 USD.

Almost people thought if segwit 2x cancelled, Price go up to 8000 USD.
But now Price is down.

How do you think about this situation?


I have more than 40 BTC now, And I am losing my money now.
I bought BTC at 7500 USD.....

Maybe buy some good alts with it, but wait for some dip.

It is just right, price should go down a little bit because some are also thinking that there are those who are panicking to sell their coins since they can't get free coins from holding it. It will surely go up when there are new announcements if the fork will push through with a certain date.

It's true that Segwit2x has been cancelled and the reason why the dip is happening is many traders that invested to bitcoin are now comfortably sending back their bitcoins to alt coins. You're a rich man with that 40 bitcoin I wish that I'll have them soon in the future, my suggestion is just keep on holding. Don't look with the current price of bitcoin, set a limit or future price where you can satisfy withdraw your funds and convert it to cash. Don't panic, wait for it to increase again after this fall it will rise again.

I would suggest to hold your BTC. Bitcoin may become more valuable in the future.

Hold to your life. Bitcoin will rise again one day. Before that you can try to ride the waves and sell it short term if it goes temporarily above 7500. You bought it at the wrong time.

Bitcoin has been dumped under $7k so it is wise enough to hold than selling all your btc. If selling your btc at this rate you will lose all. I can feel btc value will rose again.

don't ever followed those weak holders that panicking while btc is falling, its just a whale dive which bringing more newbies to react and sell all their coins, 40 btc is a big amount if you will sell it with such loses better to keep calm and just let those dumpers to continue if you have spare money then better to buy more and wait for the final rebound, remember to break even or sell with decent profits.

I think you should calm down and be easy, 7500 usd is not high, it went to 7800 usd half day ago. I think the price of bitcoin will surge in the long term, don't be afraid of losing money if you hold the btc and not sell with losses.

Maybe Bitcoin will dip a little bit more. But I am sure we will see a hand in hand pump with the alts after a small break from bitcoin!

I would hold on to my btc if I were you OP. Bitcoin is going down because of the suspension of the Segwit2x but no one knows yet if it will be moved to another date or not but for the meantime while it is cancelled, altcoins now are taking advantage thus increasing its prices and bitcoin slowly going down.

I strongly believe bitcoin will be overtaken by ethereum,  Bitcoin is a dinosaur  that is slow and has high fees.  You already have 40 btc though, if I had that much I would never have to work again, so your still in a good situation.

I would put 20 btc into eth.

the last 24 hours is purely whale manipulation of the market. they first got the insider information about the SegWit2x thing so they started pumping the price (you can see the big bitcoin market can not longer move up that much anymore with manipulation) so price went up to $7888 (~10% rise). then the news was released and the dumping and shorting began (again manipulation and again small effects) back to $7100 range.


well you just repeated the same sentence about "bitcoin is falling" 4 times which shows you don't know the first thing about bitcoin and you are panicked right now. you will sleep better if you sell...

  FIRST  RULE IN TRADING:  NEVER, EVER, NEVER  BUY AT  THE HIGH

SECOND  RULE:  LEARN TO  RECOGNIZE A BUBBLE, RIDE IT,  QUIT FAST ENOUGH

THIRD   RULE  WHEN TRADING:  IS BETTER  TO  LOSE  100 $ IN A  COIN ON ITS  INFANCY, THAN LOOOOOSE   40 BTC  IN AN BUBBLE ON ITS  END.


Having that said:  bitcoin has a  deadline of  3  years. No way  it  will surpass  15k.   15 k  is  even  an optimistic  scenario.

Why are you panicking, I am sure that you invested in btc being aware that the value  might go down any time or even go up, its not a surprise. You made a mistake by buying when the value was high, hopefully you will learn from your mistakes, this is always the case: buy low and sell high.

I traded a portion my bitcoins for tether since the value is stable, I am now waiting for the value to go down so that I can buy more bitcoin. Trade smart to avoid making a loss, and don't panic since the value will always go up.

People were buying up BTC to get free Segwit2x coins, and a lot of people were refusing to sell to do the same, is my guess. Now that it is cancelled, they can free up their Bitcoins, everyone is buying up those cheap alts, so you can see every alt is gaining. But still, BTC correction was due for a very long time. I'm actually quite surprised it's still staying above 7000. With nothing left to look forward to in 2017, I guess we can all expect a slow quiet movement, maybe sideways all the way til new year.

That's the point. People went into BTC, because they wanted to earn free coins and money with the fork. Segwit2x cancelled, free coins and free money cancelled, therefore the caravan moves back to where it came from: Alts.

This is better for altcoins because bitcoin has nearly killed every coin now. They had dropped a lot now bitcoin drops so its the turn for altcoins to rise up.

You're not going to loose your money because bitcoin always find it way back on top. Meanwhile, you don't need to panic sell your bitcoin now and I will advice to wait till next year or more because next year is predicted to be another good year for bitcoin.

It is simple supply and demand, people were stocking on bitcoin since they thought the forks was coming so they wanted to have bitcoin in order to get their airdrops and then sell them or trade with them now that the fork is not going to happen there is no point in having so much money invested in bitcoin anymore and that is why you are seeing a decrease in the price since the demand has gone down a little.

Investors has started converting their bitcoin to altcoins as the plan sigwith2x has been cancelled and many of those that invest into bitcoin because of the free coins from bitcoin gold the splitting coin is no longer coming up again. Altcoins is going to be the greatest beneficiary of this latest developments as investors are selling they bitcoin and buy altcoins and that is why you are seeing drop in bitcoin pricing.

You've bought quite a lot of BTC for quite a high price. Don't let the fork deter you, you might make a loss for the next weeks or even months, but the price will eventually surpass 7500, as it has surpass all previous prices before. It's normal that you make a loss in the crypto field of 30-40% so you have to start being comfortable about it. Don't lose hope though, just remember that there are much many other people out there that have invested the same amount of money as you have and that have lost a lot more.

Maybe you can lock your BTC value with swapping / change it to FIAT currency like USD or ALTCoINS. It will hold your BTC value.

Don't sell it. You will only lose your money if can't wait. Please sell it when bitcoin hits 10k in the future. Otherwise it would be a shame to lose your money that way.

Bitcoin is not a god coin that rises for ever it will of course fall down, and sometimes it needs to because there are a lot of altcoins here in the market so we need a balance.

People are also not buying bitcoins only but also some altcoins this will affect the price of btc.

It was a tricky period for BTC, there was a fork expectation which never materialized, so everyone was left relieved and started buying, that pumped the price at almost 8k, until people realized that it doesn't make any sense to put any money into BTC, because it's the same old and slow blockchain that it was before - there was no sort of real value added to it. That's the reason everyone started to moving to Bitcoin Cash shortly after, it's now considered a competitor as the configurations for block times etc. are kinda different than then original, but it is still a copy, which is why it isn't catching up at all. Who knows what will happen the next days, we might see some more price fluctuations but to which coin, I cannot tell you.

I do not think that ETH is going to overtake bitcoin anytime soon, ETH has its own set of issues as well like many other coins, right now there is not a perfect solution to the issue of scalability and that is something we need to deal with it, however I agree with your premise that it could be a good idea to invest half of your bitcoin in other coins especially ETH since I think ETH is going to perform better than bitcoin in the next months.

You bought right before fork got cancelled, so in the second of cancellation, you should have sold again.
Now you should probably hodl, but it may take some time until it fully recovers. Use that time for some research and learning the basics!

If you have updated the market you can see that bitcoin is increasing again so might be a signal that you will wait or else you can buy altcoins that has potentials in the market.

I think we have seen a temporary top now and might see a swing low and get in the 4000s range possibly. Some nice shorts to be made!

Not sure, but the big crash already made by those Fudders by the bitcoin cash fans. Totally before the hardfork and they are claiming to take over the bitcoin asap. But the more people realize that as another joke this time. bitcoin still become the strongest crypto in this world. $4000 will not possible in my opinion.
