Title: Bitcoin does not grow more?
Post by: gorodi on November 09, 2017, 02:16:52 PM
Folks, I have been constantly following the cryptomarket news. What I see today when I open internet? Bitcoin does not grow anymore. It has even lost some % since yesterday. On the other hand, Altcoins are growing.
Does it mean BTC has reached its maximum?
I mean at least max rate in November?

Why do you think that bitcoin should continue to grow in price? Let it not grow until the end of this year. It will still be a good result for the year. 700% growth is super index. Now the most important thing that bitcoin has kept at this level. Then next year it will be easier to reach new heights. I think that next year, the issue of increasing the block size will have its relevance. I wonder what decision will be made.

Nope, maybe you are looking at the price, not the chart. The price was see-sawing just fine, as a matter of fact it went $7800 and then suddenly fell at $7000. I guess you aren't patient enough to see that $8000 mark that's why you already jumped into this conclusion.

The reason why Bitcoin price is dropping is because of Segwit2x hard fork will not going to happen anymore, that is why people who invested in Bitcoin to get free B2X are now selling their Bitcoin to buy other cryptocurrencies, that is why majority of altcoins value are now recovering. But this doesn't mean that Bitcoin reached its maximum it's too early to say that. why do you think it reached its maximum value? There are still lots of people and companies who are adopting it and the rise will continue.

I read on coindesk that people were buying BTC in expectation of the fork (=free money). After it was decided it is not happening after all they may be switching to altcoins. Maybe this is what you are observing - BTC stagnant, altcoins growing

I think it is due to the incoming fork. Bitcoin price is being held down by the fork that can split bitcoin holders into two. But i still believe that bitcoin will grow more by the upcoming year.

The cripto market is volatile, there is no constant increase without a correction.
Since there is no more B2X fork, the alts value is increasing, but we can't predict if BTC will go down or can hit $8k this month.
In a long term, if you hold your BTC it will grow certainly.

Bitcoin has been in some ups and downs before reaching new height and breaking its own record of green market chart value maybe think of it as how bitcoin is gaining momentum to jump again.

The price is constantly going up & down, it can’t only go up forever. There are always corrections, if you can’t handle that then you’re in the wrong place.

There is no maximum limit for bitcoin, also I don't think price gonna stop here all over this november. As there will be no more forks people who have actually bought bitcoin for free coins are now selling bitcoin back because the upcoming fork was cancelled on the other hand people who like to jump into bitcoin train is still eagerly buying bitcoin at this prices. So I think price will just swing between $7k and $7.5k for quite few days before another huge surge.

No such price caps exist for bitcoin, that's why it can gain a lot in just a short span of time depending on demand. Also, a few setbacks don't mean bitcoin has already reached the 'peak' since it happens a lot. Personally I'm scared of continuous price increase without any particular reason behind it, and dumps happening around makes me excited as well.

I agree, the price goes up and down but i think it goes more up than it falls down. So bitcoin needs time but it will actually surprass 10000$. It will some day fall but it will recover quick.
There are a lot of people who don't want to see bitcoin dying and even some companies have invested in it already.
