Why do you think they had to delay their IPO? Because they are independent. You can buy lunch at the Mezegrill in downtown Manhattan. But only for online transactions... it would be cool to use them in the outside world. Title: Re: BitCoin bank & debit card Post by: Kao on June 28, 2011, 10:59:22 PM Groupon is NOT owned by Ebay. Probably a big mistake since now that they've pissed off Google by turning down that offer they've painted a target on their back. By delaying their IPO they've just given Google a chance to bring out their solution which will if nothing else be much better funded and will have more leverage with companies. Interesting article re Groupon: http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2011/06/groupon-risks-and-gifts/ Groupon’s Legal Risks And Hidden Gift To Merchants Maybe they really should have taken Google's offer! Title: Re: BitCoin bank & debit card Post by: Kao on June 28, 2011, 11:30:51 PM Maybe they really should have taken Google's offer! They really should have. I haven't seen yet a good reason for them turning Google down. I think it was at least partially pride and maybe a bit of hubris. One way or another they're going to regret it because now they have competition and they're going to crash and burn. |
