Title: Is it possible to give blockchain technology a virus?
Post by: lambomoonmoney on November 10, 2017, 06:37:57 AM
As our human bodies are fine tuned machines, they are susceptible to fatal viruses. My question is that is possible to give a virus to bitcoin? I would be very much interested in working with someone that can help me develop such a malware. We can hold the crypto community hostage and be like the Dr. Evils of the internet mwhahahaha

Maybe, all is possibile.
But i think that with security that bitcoin have today, is impossible
And the team of bitcoin works constantly to make it safe
Maybe only a team member can make virus/malware for bitcoin

I dont know too much about blockchain security. but at this time the blockchain is the greatest system than the bank system. I think there will be many innovations in the future about this.

maybe not through the blockchain but through the wallet who you install to use this technolgy!!!
a lot of scam wallet are silent virus focused to theft your bitcoins or to encrypt your bitcoin (ramsonware)

What do you mean? You want to modify the blockchain so it will carry a malware? I do not think you can inject that without the permission of the devs. Even if you inject one part, the miners will reject your app with malware. So i think it is not possible unless it is an inside job by the devs.

It can be done seriously, but as of now there are is a less chance that this system can be injected a malware. Like what others said only the developers working on the development of the system can able to inject malware on the Block chain. And because all human made can be cracked with humans too but as technology grows blockchain will improved too.

Blockchain is a virus? To state this point of view is not enough understanding of blockchain technology, blockchain technology in the virus and damage to the computer system and no advantage.

I think it's possible. I am not a computer genius but the point that bitcoin is within the internet use, it may be done.
But like we have learned from bitcoin. It's not easy, like developing the crypto coins, they can't actually change bitcoin itself for development. Instead, they create other coins copied from bitcoins. So I think that it's hard to just break in bitcoin. With almost ten years and nothing like this happened before, I think that bitcoin is not vulnerable nor invulnerable.  But more on safe I guess.

It may be possible to give one computer a virus, but not all of them. Bitcoin is a decentralized computer network so if you try and affect one or a group in a certain are there will still be there rest of the other ones running so this does not matter in the end. Bitcoin is immutable which means it can't be changed and so you should start looking into why this is the case.

I don't think its possible because every wallet especially block-chain contain highly security and secure to being hacked And the team behind it working day and night to make all wallets secure and safe and better than before. The teams are aware about the hackers and that they can attack any time. Threat is always there but they are placing enough security measures to recover from any dramatics situation.
