The official news say that it's still cancelled.

The first link its a fake news, the fork is not going to happen anytime soon

I got the information that this segwit2x was canceled, I support this cancellation and I think it's the right time to give altc an opportunity to fix the price.

Just to clarify, this news came after the cancellation...basically, a group is fighting the cancellation.

I think it was never been cancelled at all maybe someone or some groups are just spreading this news to be able to let
them take the profit of the fork alone instead of giving it to the holders, im sure everyone is aware,
for those who wants to make sure that their btc can get a reward, you better get a wallet with private keys you personally holds
people always taking advantage and take the profit with them, so carefull guys

Segwit2x is definitely cancelled.

But of course that doesn't stop various chancers putting out fake news in the hope of moving the price. Now that they can't do China FUD it's going to be non-stop segwit2x FUD.

What the heck they are very unprofessional if they do this.They already announced that it is cancelled.Many traders will lose their money
if they do this and i pity them its a very bad habit.

The segwit2x guys never really said it was cancelled, just that it was "suspended." But I think we can all agree that this means that we won't see a segwit hardfork for a long time now. It might be "on" but maybe "on" in a year or something, not in the coming weeks.

Sometimes, trolls should just realise that 90% of the world does not understand a joke. Even if it clearly says "Sent from my Spaceship", people will not get it and get all scared and rumor prone. I wonder if people really just trade on rumours and fake news? Must be part of the pressure to see Bitcoin now fall to 6800, and Bitcoin Cash move up quite a bit. First time in a really long time I have seen BCH at more than 0.11 BTC. It would be so surprising if this continued all the way to December, though.

Many people will try to manipulate market with fake news about Segwit2X after its cancellation. I suppose we should stay calm and skip them over.

I hate these forks but part of me wish they go with it so it is out of the way.  The disruption happened already anyway.

The news is a joke, I think what they are doing to is weigh up their own influence in the space just the way Roger did with the Bcash, alot of people now prefer all these hard forks because it is a free money for them

Segwit2X is like a bad dream. I want it to be over so I can forget about it.

There was a collective sigh of relief after s2x got cancelled. Even if someone does want to resurrect it, they'd have an impossible job trying to gain widespread support.

Already people are saying that it is a fake news . And yes it might be . Infact I only believe things when Theymos himself posts such topics and updates us. Anyway Segwit2x was anyway just the same as the old fork so basically it's better that such forks are just neglected in future unless there are some major changes .

I think you need to check the accuracy of the above two, I find that it does not seem to be official information. Maybe they just want to fake to attract more users. As far as I know, segwit2x, it certainly will not happen, many users of the Bitcoin community did not support the event, it was a big controversy and now the winners belong to them. However, the problem of block expansion is still the most urgent issue and we need a solution to this problem. I think there will be new solutions soon

You should follow trusted website such as cointelegraph or coindesk. Don't believe shit pages. It makes you panic.

Yeah im sure its still "suspended" at the moment. Theres alot of fake news or sites surfacing stating that it is not suspended anymore and the fork will be happening. Do not pay attention to these fake news site, just a waste of time and people have nothing better to do.
We will be going through the same sht again like this month when these guys feel like hitting the market of alts hahaha.

You know what op, i suggest you to be careful with your sources. You have to verify every sources that you get your news from so that you can be sure that every information or news you share is really legitimate. Your personality and credibility depends on what you post here.

There is no support for this fork, most of the big wigs in the 2x camp have left unless there are not true to their words, I can see the price now around $8000, maybe that is what is responsible for the new height

2x came back and led Bitcoin to soar, to my surprise, because this time I was eth, causing me to buy a bit less bitcoin and maybe not get a fork coin.

My friend told me about the cancellation of the segwit2x, I thought it was done days ago, just last night when he told me that it was postponed. Now bitcoin's price is now pumping again, and I hope it will continue.

The news has emerged one week ago and just appeared in some markets on the 16th yesterday, the market chose to be neutral and continue to snapshot the data and still will give b2x if protection is really enabled, they are also waiting for its development, this is better than not at all

There is upcoming fork this coming december called silver fork I don't if it is true or not I heard form the other thread about the coming fork. Maybe it will gonna be help to the bitcoiner.

I received an email directly from coinbase and they were informing people who has bitcoin on their site to wait for further announcement. Bitcoin hard fork-segwit2x might had happened on November 17, 2017. I cannot confirm because I hadn't visited my wallet and I want to be surprised if I had received coins or not. We'll be back to you guys to inform you if segwit2x is finished.

It apparently will not survive as it does not have any community backing and the big guys have backed out already. I am really looking forward to how everything they are doing is going to end up playing out. I hope they don't use their stupidity to create problems in the network though.

With $2.4 million volume on the futures, I won't be surprised if the miners are actually holding back so they can accumulate as much as they can at $250 per coin...then suddenly support it and let it pump.

This will not happen. All forks in which the scaling problems are trying to solve by changing the block size do not make sense, since they solve the problem only in the short term.

No,the attempt by some miners yesterday has failed.The main reason was due to which is called an off by error  in which a block of more than 1 MB size is needed to activate segwit2x and since its not possible,they have just left their plan.But they have just said that segwit2x activation has been suspended.But i think its not possible for them to activate it in future too.

Just rumors. One thing is for sure. There is still no updates about that. Lets just wait for further information. Calm everyone and keep the fire burning.

Is there a final consensus as to if a new segwit2x fork is or has been activated? All these emails from coinbase's director of communications is really confusing. I doubt that communication from sucha huge and well-known company was just taken lightly or was based on some fake news article. There must be something behind those emails.
