Title: Lending at 0.0001% whats the point?
Post by: yonton on November 10, 2017, 04:58:55 PM
I see lending rates of 0.0001% on poloniex and similar on other exchanges, it seems like a waste and risk for minuscule gains.

then how much rate that you want from the lending program, ?
remember if a program give you 1% per day its same as ponzi

So if I lend $10,000 at .0001 that equals $0.01 per day. A PENNY A DAY?? lol really who does this?

0.0001% is insanely low. It means that you would've gained 3.7% after 100 years of gathering interest... Obviously, that isn't very profitable.
Of course, 1% per day is almost certainly a ponzi, but about 0.008-0.012% per day is pretty okay & sounds legitimate for a lending program.

To the OP: I suggest you don't even think of leaving your money on poloniex anyways...

Trump

There is no point at all doing so. I remember that a few months back, when I was an active lender on Poloniex, rates were of about 0,19%. Sometimes it could go as low as 0,05%. At that moment, it was still worth it, but now, I am not even considering it anymore as a way to make money.

That's why you should stay away from lending type of fool things.

They give you nothing. And you take a big risk of losing plenty amount of capital to earn little money from lending. This is not meaningful. You better start day trade of altcoins, instead of lending.

This is not true at all. People were getting 3% daily lending on polo/bitmex prior to the hardfork because lenders withdrew all their btc to get the forked coins. You can lend at high rates if you know where it is going. On those exchanges you are lending to people trading w leverage. You lend your coins for someone else to trade them.
