Title: Happy with a pool? Post by: Essjay on December 21, 2010, 02:01:14 AM If you haven't been ripped off by a pool server, post here.
(Hey, this thread is just as legitimate as the other one, right?) I have donated 10BTC to slush for what I consider to be excellent and selfless service. Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: slush on December 23, 2010, 04:15:13 AM Thanks Essjay for your donation. I really appreciate it!
Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: bfever on December 23, 2010, 08:55:28 PM +1 on slush's Pool.
I have been paid out twice now, first one was probably done manually, second time was only just the other day right after it crossed the threshold. Network connection is quite stable and now testing the 230Mhashes/s GPU in the pool ;D 5 BTC on its way as a donation. Keep up the good work slush ! Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: GeorgeH on December 24, 2010, 12:40:25 AM Slush's pool is AWESOME but my [nVidia] miners keep crashing :'(
Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: russ on December 24, 2010, 11:16:49 AM I can confirm I've been paid about 8 separate times from Slush's pool. ;D
Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: FairUser on January 02, 2011, 12:31:06 PM Yeah, Slush did a good job on the pooled mining server.
Thank you slush! :) I've received several payments, and I'm starting to spread the word to my tech savvy friends. The only problem I have now is the clients crash at random....so I wrote a batch/bash script to start the process in a loop, so that when the app dies, it just restarts back up. I'm making about 6-8 bitcoins/day now. ;D Spread the word and lets get this mining operation really going! Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: wobber on January 02, 2011, 01:46:22 PM 6-8 bitcoins using a GPU? or CPU?

What miner? What crashes? Do you have some traceback/error message? Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: FairUser on January 03, 2011, 03:07:09 AM 6-8 bitcoins using a GPU? or CPU? GPU ATI HD RADEON 5750 ~150,000 khash/s Title: Re: Happy with a pool? What miner? What crashes? Do you have some traceback/error message? Miner: poclbm Unhandled exception is the error. I do not have a trackback/error message as of late because of the script I wrote to catch it. I just restarted the process *without* using my script....so I'll post here the next time it crashes. Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: fabianhjr on January 03, 2011, 03:53:33 PM I get like 5 bitcoins per 8 hours on my 5870 at ~300MHashes/sec.
Also, slush, I am more than happy with your pool. :) Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: BitterTea on January 04, 2011, 11:35:00 AM New user. 5850. <3 slushpool. 3.99 BTC confirmed so far, and I found my first block today. :)
edit... Btw Slush, I like the new additions. It's cool being able to see how much reward I received from prior blocks. When the donation feature goes live, will it track that as well? It would be cool to keep a running total of how much has been donated. Keep up the good work! Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: Rai on January 05, 2011, 04:08:45 PM I've gotten 30+ BTC since I started mining with Slush's pool, and counting!
Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: ColdHardMetal on January 05, 2011, 04:20:13 PM Happy with the slush pool.
Not happy with how much my GPU apparently blows compared to everyone else ;D Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: Sawzall on January 05, 2011, 05:07:37 PM If you don't already have some serious hardware and don't plan to buy it to mine with, a pool is the only way you are ever likely to get paid.

Post by: Metal on January 07, 2011, 01:10:33 AM If you don't already have some serious hardware and don't plan to buy it to mine with, a pool is the only way you are ever likely to get paid. I don't think that's exactly true. The main benefit of the pool is that it smooths out the returns by handing out small but frequent and predictable sums, but over a long enough period of time, the overall returns should be very similar to what you'd get as a lonesome miner. If you're a gambler, stay outside of a pool initially and see if you get lucky and score a 50 BTC block early on. Afterward, you're probably better off pooling either way. Back on topic: slush's pool works. http://mining.bitcoin.cz/ . That is all. Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: fabianhjr on January 07, 2011, 02:37:26 AM Going to donate a 6%(The max) of what I mine! You are awesome slush!
Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: ColdHardMetal on January 11, 2011, 08:56:55 AM Super with happy with a pool. Slush's has been just crushing today. Every time I check my stats we've got 2-3 more blocks. Is good :)
Title: Re: Happy with a pool? Post by: Ian Maxwell on March 22, 2011, 02:51:51 AM And it's crushing again today. The longest round all day was just barely over two hours (and far, far in the lead at that), and the shortest was 31 seconds. (Though I got zero reward on that one... didn't submit any shares in time, I guess.) As of this posting there are 40 blocks awaiting confirmation.
