So I've seen a couple of these posts before, Where people ask's for suggestions on which single altcoin to put X amount of money into, with the hopes of it making them millionaires. Thought i'd try doing the same thing, buuut seeing as I Don't really feel like putting all of my trust into one coin, I thought i'd Do it with 5 coins.

I wouldn't recommend which altcoin you buy, because everyone has his investment logic, and I don't want to break it.I'm just telling you that it's better not to hold more than six altcoin at the same time, which will greatly distract you from your money and make a profit.Also, don't buy altcoin, which has been abandoned by developers.

You started really well with a strong candidate with Litecoin, and even with Ethereum, whom I feel is just too corporate for my liking. But you've completely lost me beginning with Universa, Raiden and Plex. You're advising someone to 1) Join an ICO 2) invest in an interesting project with supposedly good programmers and 3) Join a yet to be launched project already accused of being a scam.

I suppose anyone can say their opinion freely, but I pity the newbie who sees these coins and gets attracted. Some say they will deserve it, though, so I guess all is fair.

Check the development roadmap to ensure that there is a plan for the next year ahead, this will ensure that the value will rise. Good projects to back are:

- You can split the other 20K into various other projects and keep trading

I will recommend you pick good projects with less than $30 million marketcap that can easily do 3x to 5x when there is hype around it. But make sure at least 20% of your investment is in Bitcoin

Perhaps you would be better off buying Dash and setting up a MasterNode. Otherwise I would say Bitcoin, Ethereum and Monero.

My advice is to divide your deposit to two portfolio: long HODL and ICO investment.

there is always a option to put that kind of money into some crypto funds as some of the recently established DAAs by Iconomi or tokens as Taas. Some of them make a nice ROI, and the risk is minimalised by diverse portfolio structure.

The problem is that everyone will give you different answers depending on their own perspective, and you have no way to determine which is good advice and which is bad. The most important thing is always do your own research, especially if you're putting in a large amount. I have my personal favourites, but you need to ensure there is a degree of safety to your investments... so for this reason I would always say have a fairly big percentage in bitcoin, then the rest have a lot in higher cap alts and then smaller amounts in more speculative lower cap coins.

BUY eth. Ethereum has already many coins based on eth. This will help eth in the future because it would be very strong. Do not invest a lot because altcoins are really unstable.

They are not that popular like bitcoin so beware and search about the project.

I'm still learning the art of cryptocurrency technology and its trading, so up to now, my suggestion would be NEO and Steem. But please note that there is no guarantee that these altcoins go up. The progress of them would be influenced by some aspects, e.g., if China reduces regulations on cryptocurrency, there is a higher chance NEO may go up, probably more than 10x. Always do your own research before you invest your hard earned money.

Regardless of which you choose, I'd recommend keeping an eye on the holdings. When they jump up, sell some and then buy back when they're low. Each time, keep some of the money until you have the 100k back, just to decrease the risk.

i would recommend you to invest in MONERO, LITECOIN, SIACOIN, CIVIC and RIPPLE as i think that all of these projects have alot of potential to grow and you can earn healthy amounts of profits by investing and holding them in the long run. Spreading your investments with 5 coins is a good idea, but the target of making you a millionaire someday is based from the amount of investment you will render. Want to become a millionaire? How about investing 2BTC to each 5 coins, a total of 10BTC.

This is the correct way of thinking. No one can predict for sure the behavior of various altcoins. It would be much wiser to invest into several coins, for instance, into OMG, ETH, NEO, Monero and Ripple. 8)

As things stand right now, investing 100K is good money to start with, and this is how i would invest:

All coins are to be considered long term investments.

Invest on altcoin were you can really earned profit. 100k$ is huge so choosing 4-5 altcoins is good but choose on coins which developer is very active. Always, be updated on your choosen coins because you will investing in this so will be know when to sell your hodling.

If I were in your shoe, my 100K will be put in  30% BTC, 20% WAVES, 20% ETH, 15% SALT and 15% STORJ.  I believe these coins are undervalued right now and it has a good potential to grow.

As you can see, everyone has different opinions and if you want to invest you need to have yours.

The altcoin market could give you a very good profit. Also investing in the ico stage but be careful investing in ideas on a paper.
There are many platforms with different ideas, support the ones you think will be successful.
As the platform grows your investment will grow too, if they fail you could expect your investment decreasing in value.
Search also for a crypto with support in the community, with a good team and good communication.

If I had 100k to spend, I would put it in at least ten altcoins but which ones, that is the problem. I would also include PPT AKA POPULOUS to the list as the factoring program there will produce a nice roi and that will also help you hedge the risk form other coins which is what you need in such a volatile market as cryypto. It is not like forex markets where the main currencies do not fluctuate as roughly as altcoin do.

When the time op created this thread bought bitcoins with the 100k. Imagine how much made with that fund without any single effort. Why is this any need we have invest in altcoins only to make the profit. Go with which one is better to invest our fund. In that way bitcoin is best one among all crypto currency.
Ethereum also grows pretty decent in the market can invest on that too.

Invest in Litecoin. I am sure that it will soon increase a lot in the future. Its now at 65 dollars nearly so if we pump it up to 120 dollar you would actually double your money with it.

I have some litecoins in my wallet I am keeping it just because i can maximize my profit out of it.

That's a very decent list, and BTC is very likely (500% increase), but I wouldn't agree ETH going to 30k (10000% increase), LTC to 10k (15000%), XMR (8000% increase) or NEO (30000% increase), but I hope they do !

I don't like the list, I do hold some of the coins above, but if you are looking to invest not project that has already hit more than 20X, 30X or more . There are alot of project under $50 million marketcap that can grow with a 10X increase, just read and research

Maybe I shouldn't suggest any because I'm still learning, but if I'm asked to select 5 altcoins, they will be (without any order), 1. ETH, 2. NEO, 3. LTC, 4. IOTA and 5. Steem. But if what you all invest is 100k, I wouldn't recommend to keep all into altcoins, maybe 50% or at least 30-40% put into bitcoin. Having said that anyway, my advise is, not to trust anyone or any cryptocurrency blindly, do your own research and understand well before you put your hard earned money into them.

no offence, but everyone (almost) keeping saying so, but the problem is, it is very tough to judge which ones have good future. That's partly because there are more than 1000+ coins now, and also because it is quite tough to judge based on their website or whitepaper. But, I agree with your idea that, at least some part of your investment goes into bitcoin because if everything else is lost, you still have something to recover. My advice would be put 10-20% into ETH (and/or LTC) as well.

Diversifying is good--but not all the time. For most people that are not experts in crypto, there's a high possibility the the funds you will diversify would not be monitored and would only result in profit loss. That being said, it is more advised that you only focus on 2 coins or maybe 3 for now then increase your portfolio as you get the gist of it.

If you have $100k you should invest in pos alts that will give you stable return overtime. Something like kucoin, tassc, csno, bay etc. You'll have little passive income on the side without doing much leg work.

Waves, lease them out. When network picks up a bit you are good.
DGD, when DGX takes of, DGD might give you good dividends.

More of these assets exists, but focus on the question, how is the dev team performing?
A real usecase? Is there a need for the asset? Good community?

you should not put all your investments on just one coin, because it would be very risky if you choose the wrong coin or if there is a decline in the value of the crypto market.
