At this point, I would not trust anything that wasn't open source, and vetted by the community.  Remember people, trying to claim Bitcoin Gold by private keys can put both your BTC and BTG at risk.

This seems to be one of the "legit" wallets that is online for bitcoin gold, but far as i know it has not been realized yet, maybe you should try to wait a little bit more because bitcoin gold is going to be live in just three blocks from now. Be careful in where do you put your private keys, you can easily be pished in some of those sites that are claiming to be the real ones, this is very preocupant because you can easily lose your coins with this technique, be careful with that.

I think it's fake. I entered a test seed and it generates gibberish. I entered a BTC address that have a small bit of BTC in it but now after entering the seed into the site it's now shows as zero balance.

https://btgwallet.online
It looks like legit Bitcoin Gold wallet as they already mentioned it on their official twitter account https://twitter.com/bitcoingold/status/929321352242266113
btgwallet.online source code: https://github.com/poolgold/coinbin/
mybtgwallet.com source code: https://github.com/John-Dass/btcgpuwallet
these two online wallet are still under development and not yet finished so expect to experience some bugs, it is much better if you use Coinomi wallet to claim or hold your Bitcoin Gold as they already supported it.
BTW you can check your BTC Gold balance here: https://bitcoingold.org
Yes already checked mine and I will receive 1:1 ratio as they promised but still waiting for further announcement on when it is available to claim.

This one works only when we have coins on a Bitcoin Gold address. But, how do we move coins from a Bitcoin address to Bitcoin Gold address?

you have to import the private keys of the BTC-addresses that had BTC in it during the snapchat.
1. check adresses
2. export private keys
3. create a new wallet.
4. move all BTC to the new wallet.
5. import privat key of the now empty wallet in a BTC Gold wallet.
6. double check what i wrote and dont blame me if something went wrong.

You can use but I do not believe it, it is best to transfer all BTC in the wallet through another wallet first. Make sure you are safe and make sure you do so

5. import privat key of the now empty wallet in a BTC Gold wallet.

How do I perform this step in https://btgwallet.online ? Moreover, I could not find any option to publish a signed Tx through it on Bitcoin Gold network either.

I don't know if you can trust this wallet. It is always dangerous to insert your private key into an unknown website, especially if you have your Bitcoin on that wallet.

Absolutely - it just ain't worth the risk. If you must do it, move your BTC out to somewhere safe first (assume the private keys will be compromised).

Hey there,

today whatwas my surprise when i open my BTC Wallet on Jaxx.io ?
All my BTC was gone and my balance is now showing 0 BTC

In fact you'll see in the details of my tx (down) that it was done early this morning and i was connected to https://mybtgwallet.com.

And now it's not listed on the BTC-Gold official website anymore and on the web wallet it's a warning message that say "Access to the site direct from your browser, dont search in google or access from any other website. It’s reported that some hackers are disguising the real wallet. We are investigating the problem.".
You can not import anymore any private key or 12Word pass-phrase like the Jaxx 12 words pass-phrase.
It's important to notice that 'ive import my 12 word pass-phrase from jaxx in the web wallet of mybtgwallet.com so i highly think it's a scam or a hack...

Any idea of what to do now ? All my BTC or lost forever ?

I'v retraced the tx and all i can give you is this (the last adress is the suspicious one and i don't know it):

AMOUNT TRANSACTED 0.02956628 BTC, FEES 0.0007705 BTC, RECEIVED about 15 hours ago (15/11/2017 at 05:00 FR (1 BTC = $6850)), CONFIRMATIONS 6+

Do you have more proof about this  we.. honestly i don't trust any wallet for bitcoin gold unless if its recommended by bitcoin gold developers..
That is why hard to trust to anyone you should wait for the official update about bitcoin gold or use exchanges instead like coinomi ..
Try to contact it in bitcoin gold official website maybe they can explain about https://mybtgwallet.com. why they removed it in their website so that we can clear that this is  a scam wallet..

Another stupid victim here, my whole Jaxx wallet was emptied (it was a lot..not only BTC) about 1 day after I used http://mybtgwallet.com (http://mybtgwallet.com).
I can give all the details if it's of any use.

Because it was referenced on the official http://bitcoingold.org/ (http://bitcoingold.org/) site, I assumed it was safe and checked by the devs.
They now removed the link from their site and also at the bottom of their page it now says they are not responsible for third parties, bla, bla.

At http://mybtgwallet.com (http://mybtgwallet.com) it now states 'Access to the site direct from your browser, dont search in google or access from any other website. It’s reported that some hackers are disguising the real wallet. We are investigating the problem.'
Also the github is updated.

What to do now??

We're exactly in the same situation...

For now i've created a new wallet on jaxx latest version & transfered all my other funds (Eth + LiteCoin + Zcash) that was still on my old wallet to my new one. So new Seed (Pass-phrase) and new wallet addresses with new private keys. (All fresh)
For BTC i'm now runing the full bitcoin-core deamon and need to resync whole blockchain (already BCH chain on my pc).

At least they didn't empty your whole Jaxx wallet..
What's the use of running the whole btc core deamon for this case?

I just send an email to support@btcgpu.org, they are at least partly responsible for this (didn't they do any due dillegence/code checking before giving this wallet as link).

Nothing special, just a full deamon with full access on the wallet + a Password to access the wallet.dat file. Blockchain, wallet.dat, logs, backups, tx's logs, fees choice.

They just dont get  the time or don't notify to take my ETH because i was able to transfer them to another wallet.

Yup. For my first post, I was just about to sound off about this. Same exact thing.

I thought it was safe, because it had been (previously) listed in the "Ecosystem" at the official BTGold site, and was actually one of the first ones available. Otherwise, I would never have entered my private keys there, or the private keys to my girlfriend's wallet. She had about $2000 in BTC in her Jaxx wallet, and we were getting the BTG.

We entered our private keys into mybtgwallet.com ... again, thinking it was safe. I had told her to move her BTC asap, but I didn't push it super hard, because I couldn't imagine an official website linking to a scam right on their website. However, at the time, the "wallet" couldn't transfer the BTG, saying that the mainnet hadn't been released yet. Once it was released, we kept refreshing the site, only to see that it still hadn't been updated since the 10th, or two days before mainnet. Eventually, we just used Coinomi to transfer the BTG and she kept her money in Jaxx. The *only* other place we exposed the private keys would have been to the Coinomi wallet. And I don't think that they're sucking money out of accounts these days.

This evening, we check in, and guess what? All of her BTC gone (except for $7). Also, all of my BTG gone. They wiped us out. She called me crying; that was a lot of money for her. I feel super guilty, because I was the one that talked her into investing during the last dip. Of course, when I check the site now, it's changed. The other two options are gone, the certificate is expired, it links to a *different* github address (it used to be this guy: https://github.com/iancoleman/), and all the credits and other info are gone. And, of course, it's disappeared from the Ecosystem section of the official site without a word from the BTG devs.

There's absolutely *no way* it wasn't mybtgwallet.com. I can post the transaction later, on. But here's the real question: how involved were they with these folks? Because the person who's currently linked to mybtgwallet.com is, at the moment, a contributor to the BTG project on Github:

https://github.com/John-Dass?tab=stars

... and the "official" wallet, as well:

https://github.com/John-Dass?tab=repositories

Did we just get scammed by the official creators of Bitcoin Gold for our Bitcoin (and our Bitcoin Gold)?

I'm sick to my stomach, here.

Looking through here, there were all kinds of warning signs as recently as two days ago about mybtgwallet.com. It was totally a super expensive lesson; but we got burned hard. Next time, I'll follow my instincts; I *knew* I should have moved the BTG and had *her* move her money, too. I was just lax about it, because the Bitcoin Gold developers were pushing the site on Twitter, on their site, etc. I thought: "why would they do that if it were a scam?"

Well, again, I'm actually kind of thinking now that it's not some "3rd party". I bet you if we followed the money and cross referenced at least where the BTG that was stolen went, it'd likely line up with at least some of the wallets they used for their little "premine" right after mainnet launched.

Exactly my thinking, I even chose the 'official' wallet on purpose, thinking it would be safer than coinomi..how wrong was I..
My loss was even much greater.

But what do we do now? I want them to give them the opportunity to sort things out and not immeaditely start screaming on (social)media they are a scam.
I send them an email, but no reply so far. Is there anybody out there who is closer to the BTG team?

So what about this wallet https://btgwallet.online/ is it shady too ?

It's the only web wallet left that is advertised on https://bitcoingold.org

MYBTGWALLET team - you fucking faggots.
Yesterday I checked the balance on your website, and today you stole my money. Yes, I went to the link with BitcoinGold.org, which was yesterday under the balance verification window. You are the fucking SCAMMERS!

Did you report them?

They can't be advertising a scam wallet on their website

Today the BitcoinGold site have no link to the MYBTGWALLET. I think they know about scam.

Guys, I just had a discussion with my dad that work in insurance for 30 years now and he tell me to go to the police and he said me that we all need to "press charges against person unknown" at the police station and to "Inform your lawyer" of the situation. I'll go to the police station Saturday morning if I found some time.
Atm official bitcoin gold team hasn't responded to my email and messenger message. For some people, a Slack has been open for the "STOLEN BTC" story that we're in: https://join.slack.com/t/stolenbtc/shared_invite/enQtMjczNzMxOTM5MjIyLTNhZWRlNjNmMGUwOGJlYzFlMGZhNTIxMjA1ZWJhZmU1YTJjOTY3NTQ3Y2Q2YWE5NTc5NzAxZTRlYzAzYmEzMzA

Btw, sorry for my bad English, I'm from France

Hey there,

today whatwas my surprise when i open my BTC Wallet on Jaxx.io ?

AMOUNT TRANSACTED 0.02956628 BTC, FEES 0.0007705 BTC, RECEIVED about 15 hours ago (15/11/2017 @ 05:00 FR), CONFIRMATIONS 6+

That wallet is actually recommended and supposedly used by BTG dev and its appear on their front page as means to check your BTG balance since last week when their mainnet started going online live

Wow, I can't believe this. Maybe I can. I'm a victim as well. Looks like some folks had it a lot worse than me. They only stole HALF my bitcoin balance (and most of my ETH). I think the high fees saved my ass or something. But it sure sucks to be suckered. We all learned a valuable lesson...don't trust ANYONE...even official sources who endorse wallets. Sucks to lose $500 worth of BTC. I hope we can track these MFers down.

Good question. I don't know how they pulled it off, but they must have been able to backdoor my Jaxx wallet or something. I noticed that when I installed the exodus wallet and put in my jaxx generated 12 word seed, BOTH ETH and BTC balances showed up (it was like .064 for BTC and like .015 for ETH...what they left me with).

But that's why I thought it was someone who hacked my Jaxx wallet. Maybe they were able to some software to find out that it was my Jaxx wallet and got accees to ETH was well. Who knows...makes no sense... they would have had to know my 4 digit PIN on Jaxx right? It is quite bizarre I will say that...

That is why it is safe to use separate wallet for each account so that when this type of problem happens you are saved if they are not able to hack other accounts. I never use new wallets which are always compromised. It is better to use the official wallet with the coins original. I am using Electrum wallet for BTC and myetherwallet for ETH and its related coins. So in future any problem occurs i should be saved it.

That is a very simple problem.

When you create a wallet for a "Multicoin Software Wallet", that seed is for the whole wallet no mather how many types of coins you hold into it.
The Private key of one address is just for that specific address only.

In other words : If someone gets a private key, he gets access only to that address wich is paired with that specific private key and if someone gets your 12,15,18 words passphrase (Mnemonic), he gets access to the WHOLE wallet no matter how many types of coins you hold into that wallet.

The passphrase is kindda of a text represeantation of a wallet.dat file.

I said that before, but here you go again.

If you put your passphrase on mybtgwallet.com please move all the coins that were into that wallet, not only the BTC (if there are some left).

I update this post with some new information. It seems that a new clone of the website is online : https://mybitgoldwallet.com/.  This looks exactly like the old one, BEWARE.

multicurrency wallets with one seed? but why the hell put in the seed on a website when you have a private key for each BTC address if you are using jaxx.

ate there other multi-coin wallets?

Jaxx,Exodus,Blockchain and I am sure there are more with multicurrencies.
You create your wallet and you get your Seed at the beginning.
After that you create addresses (with priv keys) for whatever currency is supported.

This is the code from mybtgwallet

https://pastebin.com/H6we20D6

This has some PHP script in it and stores seeds in a file called lelo1.html and also uses the same google ID

The hosting provider can say if it was there from the beginning or someone hacked the website and modified the script to benefit.

If so, then there must be some tracks of it.

i dont want to protect them. i opened this topic because i saw the link on their website. and i wrote that everybody has to be carefull because i cant read the code.

i think we hve to go e few steps back. they once wanted to start an ICO for this coin. maybe they did not delete all the traces.
they just dont say anything about what happend. i think they want that the public dont know about the scaming.

Most of the scammed holders were new to the blockchain technology but the strange thing is that not all!
They used their Mnemonic to claim btg/create btg wallet/check balance on forked btg on the developers official statements on many social networks.
They trusted thos sources.
The community is still growing after 6 days from the initial scam.
