I'm afraid that ether will always be ~$300. I guess this is good in terms of using it as a "currency" but it isn't great for an investment.

What are your thoughts???

Exactly one year ago, Eth was only slightly more than $10 per coin. While it may seem that Eth is 'stuck' at ~$300, it fluctuates in price so much because it is attempting to stabilize before it makes more gains. In the past few months, Eth has become more stable and it just happens that its current point of stability is at ~$300. Once Eth switches to a POS system, it will become MUCH more stable (it may drop a bit before stabilizing- because miners are selling). At that point, we will see long-lasting and stable gains.

Although Ethereum is demonstrating its stability and does not show its growth, soon it will start to increase. Vitalik Buterin want to limit the emission of this cryptocurrency!

At this point I think it will stay stable but if there's new update and new features in the near future the chances of the value growing is high.

right now it is in the stable value of 300$ but i think its slowly growing the their is a chance of growing high so its no too late to hold!

at least the current ethereum price is more stable, I myself am not very experienced about rising the price of ethereum. but my knowledge so far, if bitcoin prices soar, surely altcoin prices will go down, and vice versa. and I can also judge from demand and supply, if demand is plenty and inventory is few, surely the price will increase, and vice versa, if demand is low and supply a lot, then the price will decrease.

Yes, ETHER will definately grow in price in future, now it is having stable price in the market. Nobody can tell the future but i thinkin coming months it will definately rise and that will be a good sign for its investors. It is very good opportunity to by them now because may be in future it can generate good profit out of it . One can invest in it if he/she want to earn profit from long term investments.

From my point of view, Ethereum has reached their stability in value and will continue to rise for sure. Most analysts that have confidence in Ethereum expect it to exceed bitcoin by market share and price by 2018.

One of them is Olaf Carlson-Wee, chief executive officer of cryptocurrency hedge fund Polychain Capital said in an interview with Bloomberg. Here is how he describes the main reason why ETH is to surpass bitcoin:

"What we’ve seen in ethereum is a much richer, organic developer ecosystem develop very, very quickly, which is what has driven ethereum’s price growth, which has actually been much more aggressive than bitcoin,"

Yes, it will grow the current price has been stable for a while now just minor up/downs which gets stabilized in no time the price will go up with time.

In my opinion, Ether is very promising. Very soon I think it will be a good alternative to bitcoin, of course it will not reach those heights, but a few years ago bitcoin also cost $ 10. So we will wait the future will show ???

I suppose that it can reach 500$ before the end of this year. There will be many releases, hardfork and token burning update so 1000$ at 2018 is very achievable forecast.

for sure eth will grow in value ( price) but i dont think so it would happen in near months. i believe eth will grow next year around the 7 or 8th month in the middle of mid 2018. the price will rise significantly after btc fork end

Ethereum prices will continue to rise because it has proven its role and position in the crypto world. Ethereum is a good platform and should be developed more breakthrough features

I am quite confident with ethereum and holding quite good amount of them bought under $300, will not sell them any price below $1k. I can wait even for 1year+ to sell it at over $1k but I don't think I have to wait that long.

$10k for bitcoin and $1k for bitcoin is possible by mid of next year.

So much of concern about prices is dependent on when you first got in. If you bought ETH in early summer at ATH, then it looks like it is falling. Always good to zoom out on charts to get a bit of perspective. And yes it is always important for a coin to fall back a bit and consolidate after any big rise, to establish a new base point.

I don’t think ETH will remain at $300 range for very long. Early this year, the price was $10+, it has increased 20x. Give it some time.

The problem with Altcoins are they're underacted and never given a chance to pump their prices. Moreover, Bitcoin Cash has already been pump although a lot of people were not happy on it as they tagged it as a Big Joke that people supports Bitcoin Cash than any other Altcoins.
Last August this year, the birth of Bitcoin Cash for some analysts is the destruction for Bitcoin but the result is opposite, actually it helped Bitcoin value to rise more to the top of the graph and now Bitcoin Cash begin to show it's intention that it would be likely the threat of Bitcoin and Altcoins as well.
Ethereum value was actually lying low flat for a long time but Bitcoin Cash has the pump than Ethereum.
I think there will be a reason behind this, thus, Ethereum team are working hard also to keep their coins rise it's value but today isn't the day.

Almost certainly yes, but the future is impossible to predict. Some other blockchain could always come along and dethrone Ethereum--perhaps one where multisig wallets can't be nuked from orbit by random third parties.

But to help reasure you, for like half a year, Eth was stuck in the ~$10 range, but it broke out eventually. We're seeing a long consolidation now on the tale end of the ICO boom. Once more dAPPs start going live, you'll see increased demand just from network value, and the price will be under continuous upward pressure.

Im counting on ethereum to grow a lot and it really has a lot of potential to be a long term BTC companion.

This year isn't the year for Ethereum and hopefully next year would be it's the right time to hike. It's been a long time since it laid flat from $300 to $400. But the important is it's leading the Altcoin next to Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum has the biggest role also on Altcoin Group, the most of the newer ICO and coins today were based on ERC20 that's Ethereum's platform.

Good to know he’s just making up the rules as time goes on. Pretty attractive fundamentals there.

Stability of Ethereum is showing that this coin is worth for investment and those people cannot afford to invest in Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash should invest in it because soon enough the price will be higher and it's a matter of time that everyone has the chance to make part of Ethereums hike beginning next year.
Devs, support and marketing were working hard to maintain the stability of Ethereum and could be more valuable than any Altcoin out there.

I am sure ETH will rise, because as we see Ethereum seems like hold their position in $~300 and they have good progress. Maybe next year or in other time you will see ETH can multiple twice

I have big hopes on ethereum but frankly speaking annoyed with all the shitcoins which are created on eth platform as ERC tokens are the easiest way to make a new coin and scam others.

Indeed, Ethereum Blockchain technology is state of the art also and very simple to follow and a lot of small organizations and group are actually using Ethereum based Geth Core as starter development kits. Everyone can make their own cryptocurrency by using these open-srouce blockchain system and can be downloaded from Github right away.

Ethereum is making a lot of ground now. Higher ground to jump from it. Yes it will definitely grow and it will hit new levels. Especially with upgrade Casper around the corner.

ETH are not a time that are rushing to pump that much and behalf even though that it is on $300 as of now it does not mean that it will stuck on that i am believing that it will grow but not this year we can make some prediction but not all prediction can be so better to stay calm and wait for ethereum that the price of it will grow in the future may be next year there is some changes on it.

As an investor point of view Ethereum will explode with the switch from POW (proof of work) to POS (proof of stake). Details still need to be defined by the Ethereum fundation but yearly inflation will be capped (2-4%) and you will gain an interest staking your ETH (5-7%).

An hybrid system will be put in place in 2018 (maybe with the 2nd Byzantium hard fork), full POS should be scheduled for beginning 2019. Now is a good time to accumulate ETH  ;)

I will not say exactly around the corner, it was delayed to next years. The price is very stable (around 300$) but it will increase over the year for sure. It's a true crypto that is scale upon dollars and not bitcoin, so is faith is independant from the king :p

Ethereum will surely grow in price. A few months later or days. So don't you worry anymore Because you will still get profit sooner or later.. just continue hlding and do not spend on useless things. The alts are slowly going up. And soon, after the bitcoin cash hype is already done amd people have dumped already, the altcoin prices will surely increase. So relax and chill. Our time will come. Depending if they decide to get the coin forked or not the price can vary from that or lower so it's better for them to not get it forked this year so the price will go up.

Actually ERC20 is a contract between Ethereum and new Altcoins that are using Eth platform. Their tokens can be read or be traced using Etherscan.io but they're separated through called tokens. Tokens will be then converted into Ethereum or any coins as you like.

Because the price of bitcoin has been dropping a lot lately and this just means that prices of alternative coins will rise. And that clearly is something that has happened a lot of times in the past already. And it surely is bound to happen again. But not as fast. Because there is still the hyoe for bitcoin cash. But after people dump, altcons will surely rise again.

What? I surely hope the eth team doesn't think like that, it should be about the tech and the coin, not about trying to reach some artificially inflated price.

Or more, but there's 6 weeks left before the end of the year so basically Ethereum lying flat record is still a positive level since no one dumped their coins. It is in fact a good start for investors that Ethereum will have a good future than the rest of Altcoin group.

It is not like that, I believe, a coin value doesn't depend on how good the dev, support and marketing although they're working hard to keep and maintain their coin stable but there are so many aspects that needs to be considered. A large scale of miners were shifting from Bitcoin into Bitcoin Cash so then there's a sudden price motion and it cased a gap of Bitcoin's price drop and Bitcoin Cash' pump.
Ehtereum on the other hand doesn't rely on these situation, if only there's number of investors that will going to support Ethereum and has a large miners also that helps transaction faster then it'll affect also the price hike. traders and miners has the biggest role for cryptocurrency value and marketcap.

Ether is more of a platform to make decentralised apps rather than viewing it as a payment. So its not as volatile as the other big tops. Though any breakthrough in the technology we should ether price going high and reach stability.

Same here dude. There are so many shitcoins created on the ethereum blockchain these days that I don't know what to say. It is truly irritating to see the scammers releasing more and more shitcoins on a regular basis and the legit coins are getting covered up in all this mess. I still fully believe in Ethereum and its features are some of the best features in the crypto world. I do hope that the developers find a way to deal with these scammers.

It's indeed possible the target would be lower or higher than your expectations. My bet would be $500 to $2k next year since pumping up is a very trend today. Big Whales and traders can affect any cryptocurency if they wish to bubble up the value. So, let's hope they'll give Ethereum a chance to pump and compete with Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.

Ethereum will surely rise again though it takes time to go up. There are many who supports ethereum and invest. So , I think price will go up.

that right ethereum is better on that situation being good and having a quality platform so thats why it is a good altcoin that can be next in bitcoin even though not in a way on how huge the price is but on how the project runs for.

The aim of every cryptocurrency project is to decentralized the nothing more feel secure and fair if it doesn't. Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash are although decentralized and people are fully supported it's existence. This is a clear message for us, Altcoins are meant to succeed despite on many threats and downfalls.
Bitcoin has faced the same issues before and so as Bitcoin Cash.
Now, Ethereum has it's own strategy to maintain the value, and as long the price isn't dropped, better to lay low stable.
One day, soon enough Ethereum will pump up same with Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash if it's not today or this year, soon will be.
And Ethereum investors should be happy.

i personally if i were i would jump to an other hype investment such as Electronuem or iota or even bitcoincash. ether chart show a stability since months now.

Even me I trusted Ethereum as I converted all my bounty tokens into Eth coins and never cashed out since the beginning because I fully support Ethereum all the way until today. I am a proud investor of Ethereum and soon will be pump hard to the top, next year would be the year of Ethereum. Hopefully and looking forward.

What is Ethereum's biggest competitor? Anyone pumping money into them over ETH?

Ethereum is growing but gradually slow, it might be taking time, but it has a firm reason to go up more. I am not sure how much will it grow or how much time will it take to reach a point but as per the recent news and market movement, I believe it will or may touch $400-$450 before the year end.
Actually the stability for too long is the main concern which is recently growing and increasing doubts about its future growth potential.

Ethereum is a very sure coin, the only one after Bitcoin who is in such a good situation. I put a lot of it on myself because I'm sure I'll have a lot of it. Its price is amazing.

I do believe Ethereum will grow in price but I gues it's not the right time yet. I support Ethereum and I believe in it, their support and devs are working together to keep their price although low but stable. Ethereum is one of the most well designed Blockchain system and has the big role for cryptocurrency network today.
Their ERC20 platform is widely supported by many flavors of coins.

Ethereum has a different price curve characteristic from the others, I think. Although maybe all of the coins have really volatile prices, its price is continue to remain same levels, mainly. I think it is a good ting to have a good currency which have stable prices. I hope that, it will have more stable and higher price in the future.

It started out at a very low price, and it has grown from that price to $300. Give it time, it will still experience a surge in price.

I'm not sure but Ethereum's only competitor are LiteCoin, Ripple and Waves. They have their own blockchain platform that which has its own system and processing.
But I don't see any difference when it comes into coin statbility and pumping, they're all the same in this situation although prices differed but these Altcoins are in such a good blow since pumping were on Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash networks only.
I do believe that these coins will increase their value and marketcap one day and I'm so excited for next year.

I think Ethereum will rise with Bitcoin in long term. It will just need some time, because all eyes are on Bitcoin in the last couple of months!

To my mind, ETH price will be much higher, but it will not be very soon. So those who are patient will make a profit in the future :)

It completed its first big growing phase during the Q1 and Q2 of 2017. It's now in the adoption and marketing phase. If the team can manage this well, we'll see another growing phase from ether, where it will probably reach $600-800 approximately.

I supposed that all cryptocurrency will be increase their values, marketcaps and prices time after time so Ethereum will be and must be, if ever not today or this year then next year would be promising year for Ethereum. There are a lot of investors and supporters of Ethereum actually but I noticed that the price is although not getting low but stable. And I presume it is a good and positive feeddback since they're not getting worst when it comes through value charts.
Next year would be the year of Ethereum and looking forward for the team.

It is growing right now as I am typing this to 330 dollars. I don't think it will always remain at 300 but it will not take off exponentially either. I think a steady slow growth pace is great for a currency volatility.

I think it'll grow a lot in the future :). You can take a look at the price of ETH at the moment it has increased about 10% already from 300$ to over 330$ in today. I think in the near future ETH can get over 1k$ soon :)

ETH had a 500.000 units frozen incident in Parity last week. It's a wonder the price didn't tank! It even increased, either people don't read news or just don't know what they are buying.

Considering the only use case for Ethereum atm are ICOs and those same ICOs when dumping their ETH back into the market each time when over 300$ keep the price down we can expect quite a long time of ETH stability.

It definitely will, from my point of view. Ether is not surging like crazy, but showing stability, which is a good sign I think. It is a good investment with a steady growth.

Maybe you had a wrong thought. ETH has climbed to $475 right now. You should know that ETH is one of biggest coins in the world and there is no thing can stop its growth.

Ether has already appreciated like 3000% this year alone! Ether is good at it's price. If you are now refering to future price increase, you should be aware that price increase will come as a result of many factors of which none of us cannot control!

If you expect Ethereum to go $1000 before 2018 then it's not gonna happen just yet  ;D

I agree. In terms of stability, Ether is one of those alts that has proven itself, despite bitcoin actually having a negative effect on so many alts as it has risen in the past few weeks. I still believe in alts; however, I think that it's value would be in a stand still or in a slow increasing pace until bitcoin has halted its rise. For now, it's best to hold until it regains value.

It may have, but I think that it still has some potential left in it. It would not be a good time to gauge if it has reached it's highest potential value and is now in a stable stage because bitcoin has been wrecking every altcoin since its increase last month. Many cryptocurrency users have had their eyes on bitcoin for quite a while now and is so focused on it. Therefore, when this trend settles, then we shall see if Eth would actually regain value or increase some more.

I think, it being "stuck" is an effect of bitcoin's price surge this past few weeks, just like it affected many of the altcoins across the market. Bitcoin has really gone up the charts, unfortunately, at the expense of altcoins, and Eth, even despite it's proven stability, is no stranger to that negativity. But, from 10 to 300 is still successful if you would look at the percentage it has increased. It's just that bitcoin can't be compared because it is in a league of its own.

This current Bitcoin rally of the past few weeks have affected so many alts, and ethereum is not an exception.
I believe ethereum will get back up in price with regards to its equivalence to Bitcoin and not just only in the dollar value.
Ethereum offers a utility and a hub for so may other alts, so it will always somehow grow.

Of course the potential of Ethereum is huge. But due to recent events (a rebooted network, suspending transactions and the like) growth slowed. When Ethereum becomes more stable, we can assume that the price for it will increase.

Its not even a month of this thread, however your count over Ether ~$300 is rekt badly with $ETH crossing $500 now and then.
I am a strong believer in ETH as in technology and investment and with ETH 2.0 coming in 2018 and with the money coming in crypto with the market capital, there is no stopping for Ether to $1000

I think ether will grow in rice. Remember it was 0.1btc for awhile then 0.05 and now it's at where it is now. I think it will grow but just slowly. People need ether for gas so it will always be needed and because of this I think it will definitely come up in price. Just be patient.

Just wait there, the current price of ethereum is around $700 maybe we can expect that it will rise up to $1000 because most of the projects here use ethereum as a payment in their services.
