Title: How the hell do I use Bitcoin-OTC
Post by: john1886 on June 21, 2013, 06:18:56 PM
I am looking to sell 200-500BTC. I have posted in Local Bitcoin and will post in the currency exchange part of these forums once I am out of here, but how on earth do I use Bitcoin-OTC? I went there the other day and the site was in offline mode. I just want to meet someone face to face give him the bitcoin, he give me the cash and we go our separate ways.

Where are you located?  I don't think I've got the resources to take the entire 500BTC off your hands all at once, but if you're offering a good deal, I might be interested in picking up some of it.

I cover it in my book Bitcoin Step by Step (See signature).
I also have some information on my blog : http://bitcoinsbs.wordpress.com/2013/01/01/establishing-trust/

Basically you need an IRC client (in the book)
then you need an IRC account (in the book)
then you need to BCAuth (in the book)
then you need to GPG Auth if you want to use the web of trust (Blog)
Then you need to know how to use the bot in the IRC Channel (In the book)

You can find information here:

and here:

I typically just use a web based client:

$106.383 per bitcoin would be a reasonable price (not a great deal, but not unreasonable) if I was local.

Unfortunately, I'm in Chicago, and that isn't enough of an incentive for me to buy a plane ticket.

How much are you interested in buying? A ticket is around ~560; I can give you 560 off the final price if you are going to purchase a large amount. 200BTC or more.

This offer is open to everyone. If the ticket is 550 or so round trip, I will take that off the final price if you buy more than 200BTC.
